Early in her medical training, Dr. Kiesau was struck by how invaluable ophthalmology can be in deciphering clues to understand a patient's systemic issues. Furthermore, she was also fascinated by the intricacies of the eyes and expanse of possible diagnoses which are centered in the optic part of the central nervous system.

Northshore Glaucoma staff are very friendly and professional. Dr Jacobs is my doctor and very very satisfied with my interactions. He is knowledgeable about my eye questions. He explains his plan of treatment very throughly. Dr Jacobs never rushes through the appointment he takes all the time needed.

Dr. Jacobs and all the staff are so wonderful: very friendly, very helpful, very knowledgeable, very professional. Waiting time is minimal. They are always so accommodating to my needs, with great empathy, compassion. I have been taken care by Dr. Jacobs and his team since 2016. I still remember that day in 2016 vividly, when my left eye failed, causing pressure reached far beyond 60+.
Since the surgery with Dr. Jack Cohen, Dr. Jacobs has brought it down to acceptable numbers, and I have felt good, seen very well, with pressure around 10. Last month it was 9. The office is well equipped with modern, hi tech instruments. It is well kept and maintained, I feel safe during this uncertain time. I have to drive quite a long way to visit Dr. Jacobs every 4 months, but worth it. from Henry - a very grateful patient, who was saved by Dr. Jacobs and Dr. J Chen in 2016.

I've been to this practice twice. Tests were run by the a lovely technician, followed by a brief visit by Dr. Jacobs. He complained that I was supposed to have come back within six months of my last appointment. But no one told me that. He said the office sends out postcards. Postcards? Who doesn't use e-mail these days? He said the office doesn't have the resources to follow up with patients about appointments by phone? What? Dr. Jacobs didn't look me in the eye (excuse the pun) when he came in.
He just sat down in front of a monitor to review data. He then did an additional eye exam. I called the office after my appointment to ask how long blurry vision after dilation might last. The office only had one staffer at the front desk near closing time. She put me on hold to attend to another patient but didn't come back on the line before the office closed for the day.
I did receive a call later saying sorry, she was all alone up front. I think the way patients are treated can be better. I am going to try to reach the office manager to make the suggestion.

I am a physician and was told by my personal Ophthalmologist that I would require surgery to treat my glaucoma. I did my due diligence to find the finest glaucoma specialist in the Midwest and came up with Dr. Michael Savitt. I proceeded to talk to two very highly regarded Ophthalmologists who agreed that my decision was correct. I recently had my surgery and the team that Dr. Savitt has in place is extremely professional and the experience was better than I could have ever expected. I am now on the mend and would highly recommend Dr. Savitt to anyone who has a need for glaucoma surgery. Thank you, Dr. James L.

I called this office to schedule with Dr. Savitt. I decided not to schedule due to the distance and hours of service. So I did not meet the doctor. But someone in the billing (called billing initially to ask an insurance question) department was very courteous, excellent customer service, she really tried to work out a time and location that would be best for us to see the doctor.
She went above and beyond by calling other offices requesting an acute appointment, on our behalf, and getting us a referral for another ophthalmology doctor that had the hours, location and same insurance we needed for an appointment to work out. She took the time to answer all of my questions, was very polite and even called me afterwards to give me a complete referral from the doctor.
