A full-service, acute-care facility, we pride ourselves on making our culturally-diverse patients feel at ease. Children cannot be left unattended in the lobby, waiting rooms, cafeteria or patient rooms. During this time we ask that visitors do not use cell phones in Patient Care units or hallways, and speak quietly when visiting in the room. We encourage lights out and televisions lowered to promote the comfort and rest of all of our patients.

I don't even want to give a star. The heart Sergeon killed my grandma. We found out through the report the surgeon did more than what he told us and he didn't tell us her heart gave out during her surgeries. After her first surgery they just messed up more and went back in, never got to talk to my grandma after that.

Labor and delivery please don't visit this hospital. Although the workers are very nice. The birth experience was horrible. This is not my first time having a baby. The worst experience ever they handle you like livestock. That is the doctor fault. Forgot to mention it was the third day my baby wasn't given a bath. On the third day, late afternoon the nurse decided to shower my baby.
I said no, because I was going home. She said I have to take him with me to measure him. I say ok. When she came back, she is like I cut the umbilical cord. It suppose to come off on its on. She cut it very close to his belly bottom. There was no trace of the cord or the plastic thing they attached. The room where I gave birth had this hole covered with carton where air was coming. The room that I stayed was dirty. There was trash from previous patient. The restroom had pee and the trash can was full with trash.

The staff in the ER are unhinged in how much they don't care if someone needs help. Located in a city full of asians, none of the staff speaks Cantonese/Mandarin/Vietnamese nor do they care to find anyone that does. After rushing to the ER to ask how my father can be admitted, the lady behind the counter informed me the wait is more than 6hrs. More than 6hrs wait?!
Isn't that when people die waiting? Needless to say, my father insisted in staying. The b@txh, i mean the lady behind the counter said alright, have him sit in the waiting room and everyone else needs to leave. I told them he has a bad time hearing so how can he be notified, the security guard said, "Don't worry, he will be taken care of." After 7 hrs, nothing was done and I was informed by their staff that it will take another 8hrs or more before they can look at him and if he leaves he loses his place in line.
At this point my father hasn't eaten and wants to lay down. This means they would have a patient die waiting than to advise us to go elsewhere. My father decided to go home where he threw up a huge bucket.

Case management at this hospital is horrible They hide the discharge date from the patient's family and on that day they tell you the patient is ready to go. The the family is not ready for taking over the care and medial equipment supplies are not even ordered or arrived at the patient's home. They do that so that they can force you to go with the option of the nursing home they are affiliated with.
They call you to come in the hospital for training on the day of discharge! Can you believe that. And you still don't know the discharge date until they call you and claim that there is a shortage of beds and the patient needs to go immediately. You are not ready? That's not a problem, go to this nursing home they choose for you so you will have enough time to get prepared. horrible horrible medical practice! Very poor and fishy planning.

This hospital needs help with staffing. They need to staff nurses and doctors that are not all Asian! I have nothing against Asians as my best friend is Asian but when 99% of nurses and doctors are Asian and speak little English it's tough! I also agree with another person who wrote about this hospital. My mother who is also very ill and unfortunately I can't talk about details right now but they had my sister and I trying to make very difficult decisions, yet they want to throw your elderly parent out of the hospital and then they contradict themselves By insulting your care from home. you constantly have to be on top of nurses telling them to change diapers throw out trash and other medical discomfort the patient has.
My mother was dehydrated at one point because although they knew she could not feed her self they also are not giving her water. I strongly suggest if you have an elderly parent at this hospital that you stay on top of it and constantly be there for your parent or anyone else under their care.

One of the best hospitals I have been to. ER is a bit slow. But the nurses are so attentive. They go a long way to make you feel better despite the fact of unbearable pain and discomfort you have. My favorite CNA is Teresa/Hong Yan YANG. She will make an effort to make you feel better no matter how busy she can get. "THANK YOU.TERESA!"

I can honestly say that I was not convinced to have my labor and delivery here, not because of a bad reputation or care. I was just unfamiliar and since most of my family have delivered elsewhere, I was reluctant to have my first baby here. But you know what they say about divine timing and everything happening for a reason. After switching my prenatal care I ended up with the same hospital as my option.
At that point I had zero expectations of care or service. I was scheduled to be induced, but my baby came half a day sooner. I was literally at the door at 6:59 right at a schedule change and I got taken care of right away. Let me begin by saying that anyone who has come in my room 125 the last couple days has been amazing, nurses, admin, dietary aids, pediatrician!
I have no complaints at all the customer service and care here should be rewarded! Especially in a time where so many rules and regulations are restrictive they made everything feel smooth and I felt comfortable and cared for every step of my delivery. I would definitely give the entire team at labor and delivery a chance. They were so caring and beyond any expectation I could of had.
I left with a lot of knowledge and positive feelings about Garfield Medical Center Labor and delivery. Thank you to the two nurses who held my legs in the delivery room, to the nurses that were in and out of my room all night long and morning! To everyone who made me and my partner feel safe every step of the way welcoming our daughter especially as new parents.
I came across a large team and different schedules changes, I am not great with names, but u know who you are Thank you from the bottom of my heart your hard work doesn't go unnoticed! Thank you from Gonzalez Lopez Baby
