DO NOT COME HERE! UNBELIEVABLE, HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE DO NOT COME HERE! This hospital is very inconsistent with policy. Security is uneducated. Staff lacks compassion and empathy. Do not go to ALHAMBRA HOSPITAL Here my experience. Drove my brother to this ER hospital around 10pm. We were rudely greated by Mr. Zing door security. I was only able to provide 2 COVID vaccine credentials according to "their policy" I needed to show proof of 3 covid vaccines. Therefore, Mr. Zing maliciously escorted me away, to wait by the parking lot, in a cold bench away from his empty outdoor heated waiting room.
No compassion in where THIS HOSPITAL sitS waiting guest. Observing from the parking lot, I noticed Mr Zing wasn't asking everyone for COVID vaccine. I addressed him asking why WASNT everyone is being asked for covid vaccine proof. He mumbled and brought me Nurse Arlene. Nurse Arlene didn't come out with intentions of wanting to support, nor listen to my concern; Nurse Arlene came out with a "I don't give a Freak" type of attitude and couldn't answer why some where being asked for proof of Vaccine and some weren't.
To make my ER experience worse; there's only 1 doctor for the entire ER HOSPITAL. Expect to wait more than 2hrs before being seen -or perhaps die. Luckily my brother didn't die; I quickly checked him out and took him to a Better hospital. DO NOT COME HERE! This hospital is very inconsistent with policy. Security is uneducated. I am very displeased at the way families for patients are treated. My mom was submitted to ER today and when I came to check in to be with her I'm assuming it was the charge nurse was very rude and did not let me go in to see her. She was not even courteous enough to address me or take the time to let me know any updates on my mom. She simply pointed and in a rude tone told the security guard I had to wait outside.
It is definitely not my first choice to come to this hospital and this confirms why. It is very sad that there is no consideration for family members that are worried for their loved ones. I will be submitting this to your corporate office or who ever is in charge we don't get treated like this at other hospitals I certainly hope and pray she is being treated better than I was today.

SCAM! Charged me $433 for a minute of nothing. I had covid few months back, waited at the ER for 2 hours while having 100+ degree fever. The nurse came out measured my temp, heart rate, blood pressure then told me to go home take Advil or Tylenol there's nothing they can do. Didn't even prescribe me anything or let me inside the building, everyone waited in a small open area in the parking lot.
Now I'm getting a bill from Shen Medical Group with $433 charge for nothing. The people who arrived on ambulance was waiting outside for a long time too, there were constantly 2+ elderly waiting more than 10 mins outside after arriving in an ambulance outside in the parking lot.

Beware if you aren't asian, the staff is incredibly rude and seem discriminatory against latinos. They completely neglected my family member the entire time she was here. Recently called to have a singular question answered and was transferred in a circle to someone who insisted they couldn't answer a simple yes or no question. Nurses and staff are INCREDIBLY rude. You'd be better off anywhere else. DO NOT COME HERE. It's disgusting the lack of care all these people show and that this is to be expected of care for working class people.

**AVOID THIS HOSPITAL AT ALL COSTS IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR LOVED ONES**My Mom was taken by ambulance to Alhambra Hospital for a fainting spell. I'm well aware there are Covid standards at all the hospitals but 2 hours after she was seen and blood tests were run they discharged her. Upon discharge they allowed her to dress herself and allowed her to walk out stumbling. (We we're not allowed in due to Covid ) They diagnosed her with Vertigo but allowed her to stumble out of the E.R.
As she was stumbling there were three large security guards that just moved out of her way. No one offering help, her discharge nurse did nothing to help her outside. No wheelchair, no assistance. My father saw her ran across the parking lot to aid her. This is beyond irresponsible. This was a accident waiting to happen and only because the love my father has for my mother did this not turn into a personal injury.
My mother was unable to walk steadily and she was just discharged and allowed to walk herself out. I understand there is a language barrier but what about common decency for your patients. I'm beyond disappointed in the lack of care she received at Alhambra Emergency Room. Is this the service all patients get or was it a isolated event. My advice to you Is avoid Alhambra Hospital at all costs if you care about your loved ones.
It's a subpar hospital that caters only to one race. There were others discharged in wheelchairs properly. But I guess if you go in for fainting and dizzy spells and your Hispanic your on your own.

I came to hospital via ambulance for bleeding while being pregnant. The ultrasound tech was nice and so were few others. I asked nicely for a cup of water, no body ever brought me anything and they said no one there could tell me why I'm bleeding. Horrible experience overall. Never have I been denied water

Horrible. Hopefully you never end up here in the ICU (intensive care unit). They let the older people die here. They do not care about saving lives. They pull out a dead body with the funeral staff. Also overheard someone else saying onother older person had died the day before. Talk about numbers for October. No good.

In the past, I had already visited this hospital to check on my sick friends. The staffs at the front desks were courteous and helpful. Then, I myself also got taken by 911 to this hospital for a medical emergency in March 2020. They took care of me very well. They treated me respectfully although I unintentionally puked on the floor. The finance department (when I called about my co-pay) was also very friendly and willingly helpful. Thank you!

Emergency room is unprofessional and nurses are even worse. Came in for a car crash had cracked ribs bruised everywhere and they handled me with no compassion or anything. They didn't know how to give me iv. They forgot to give me a prescription I had to come back and get it in pain I came in two days later that's when they determined the cracked ribs and forgot to give me a note for what. They are completely unprofessional and rude. I won't be coming back here.

This rating is solely for their ER intake process. I was in sever pain from kidney stones. I live close to the hospital so I managed to drive there. As I got out of my car I was bent over with debilitating pain. At the entrance they have security. He asked me to fill out a form & sign in but my pain was too great for me concentrate on the task and told him I wasn't able to.
There was already someone waiting to be seen (mind you, this is outside in the cold at 1am). Someone (I only got her first name, Yoko) from the ER came out and attended the person ahead of me who clearly was not in any major distress. All the while I'm sitting there moaning and crying bent over in pain. Yoko never bothered to ask me I was there to be seen, or if I needed any assistance.
She took care of the guy ahead of me and went back into the ER and did not return. I waited at least another 15 minutes vomiting and crouched over on the ground in pain yet no one came to assist. I finally mustered up enough rage and determination to go pound on the ER door until someone would come out. And they were all like "you have to sign in or we can't help you".
I said I was unable to because of the pain. And the RN, Ismael Duran, had the nerve to say "well you were able to bang on the door". Their attitude lacks any kind of concern, empathy or desire to help. I literally had to suggest they fill out the forms for me by asking me questions. (I will say the care I was given once inside was very good.) After the same RN, Ismael Duran, processed me for discharge I told him that I hope he never has kidney stones & gets treated at intake like he did to me.
Then he decided to judge me (he called them "observations") by asking if I drove myself, if I carried my laptop bag (which contained also my wallet, otc pain reliever & keys). I took that as him implying that I wasn't in enough pain to not do the forms myself. I also spoke the the guy who did my forms about it and all he did was make excuses & rationalizations.
Absolutely NO ONE apologized for the substandard health care service at intake. What if I was having a life threatening medical crisis? I would be DEAD from their lack of care.

I had 2 surgeries there both experiences were great! The facility is clean with well staffed nurses. and nurses are all very kind and caring. They came frequently to make sure everything was fine. I hardly have to use my call bottom! After my second surgery I was placed on clear liquid diet. the only thing that was not Ensure, broth, and juice was Jello. 3 meals of that every day after 3 days I was crying and depressed.
The nurse was kind enough to contact my doctors to see if he can up grade me to a soft food diet which he did I was so happy and grateful. The nurses took the time and went out of their way to care for me. I could not complain about anything.

Prior to my major abdominal surgery here I was a little apprehensive about this hospital after reading reviews. It seems reviews are either one star or five. Which one was I going to get? Five. Five is the answer. The hospital was fantastic. Meaning the staff, nurses, surgeon, anesthesiologist.everyone was efficient, attentive, careful, and--most importantly--my major surgery went very well and I'm recuperating fantastically as I look forward to a new, pain-free life after years of agony.
I don't know what more I can say except that there were of course moments when the nurses clearly had a lot to handle, but they managed it well, especially considering all the new systems in place due to COVID. One thing I thought was particularly well-handled was communication. Yes, sometimes it was rushed as I was hardly their only patient, but they were there to answer my questions and give me information all along the way. Coming out of surgery is never pleasant, but it makes a huge difference to know people are around monitoring you constantly and trying to keep you as comfortable as possible. Thanks Alhambra Hospital.
