Kind of shocked by all the negative reviews! I've been going to this medical group for almost 3 years and I absolutely love them! My kids see Dr. Knapp and my husband and I see Dr. Pratt. we also all see Pamela quite often through the group's same day urgent care which we love! She is so wonderful with the kids. My 3 year old loves going to the doctor because of her and Dr. Knapp.
The same day care is through appointment only and you can't make an appointment until the day of, so it is sometimes hard to get in, but I've never had any issues at all. Their online patient portal is also great, to email/keep in touch with providers, and they are mostly super fast in seeing us. no high waiting times in lobbies. Of course they are not perfect, it's a medical office and, as such I am sure things come up that occasionally may back up the queue or what not, but our family loves them.

One of the worst experience I've had with medical nurses or receptionist ever you walk in there's no greeting just rude get your information I told her I'm going to stand outside she doesn't tell the nurse that the nurse starts looking for me and tells me that I should not be standing outside and that the waiting room is where I need to be such a rude person.
I was literally standing outside of the door you can see me through the door and she goes off on me saying that I'm not supposed to be there when I told her receptionist that I would be there. I told her I wasn't comfortable with her attitude and that I would not be continuing so I just left. Of course I gave them a piece of my mind before leaving they deserved it I don't recommend going to this place find another doctor

Was never seen by a doctor, because after 8 phone calls they still couldn't make an appointment for me. First call was during their lunch hour, 4 calls no one answered, 2 calls put on extremely long hold, last call finally got a hold of a receptionist. She could not schedule an appointment because I had to speak to their biller if my UHC insurance is accepted at their office.
However the biller has her own schedule and left for the day. Needless to say I will not be calling again. I spent weeks trying to be seen. Never had office not know what insurance they are contracted with or make a patient jump through so many hoops.

I was a patient with family medical group for over 18 years and I have not been in since 2011 and I was told that any patient that goes 5 years without being seen is no longer a patient. I asked if I could be put on a wait list and the girl said they have not accepted new patients in 3 years and she does not see them accepting new patients any time soon.
I informed her that was incorrect since my sister who also was a long time patient who went from 2013-2019 without being seen was accepted back last month to see Dr. Pratt. I was than informed that she must have HMO because that is the only type of insurance they accept.but when I called my sister she informed me she has a PPO (which is what I have) plan and had no issue becoming a patient again. I'm very disappointed that I was flat out lied to.

Today while bringing my 86 year old mother to a check up at this medical business, we were 1/2 hour early. The office doors were locked for their lunch break so we used the time to practice using her new walker. At 1pm (her appt. time) I opened the door to let the woman behind the counter know that my mother was walking in (they charge a $25 'late' fee).
She told me she had forms for us to fill out and I waited. She wasn't ready so I told her I'd go outside and check on my mother. When I returned, the receptionist insisted I needed to complete 8-10 pages of forms because it had been 2 yrs. since these forms were completed by my mother. However, nothing had changed so I informed the woman that I would write that on the forms, sign them and return them.
She protested, insisted, and was rude, etc. but I was not going to do needless paperwork. Later, after we had waited for the PA to come in and examine my mother, he again insisted that I fill out the forms or he wouldn't examine my mother. REALLY? Fortunately he backed down. He didn't make notes while interviewing my mother in the system, he didn't know her history and items as much as FIVE years in duration!
I had to keep asking him to check his computer files for the answers to questions he was asking my mother. Just really a disappointing and inefficient 'medical exam'. A complete example of Medicare payments for no service or assistance. Skip this place.(I can say more but why?)

This review is solely for the front desk individuals I spoke with on the phone. My children are patients of Dr. Pratt who is amazing! However, my recent phone encounter was horrendous! I was a patient and seen last in 2007. Since then I've not needed to see a physician (knock on wood) because I've not been so ill that I required a visit.
Well now that I need to see a physician Turlock Family Medical Group won't see me. Apparently it's policy to drop well people from their practice. I was informed of this policy today in spite of my children being seen there repeatedly for the last 10 years. I'm now considered a new patient and cannot be seen for a month or more. This is utterly ridiculous. Apparently I should have been making bogus appointments throughout the years so that I could maintain my active patient status. What a racket!

Front desk staff, (Esmeralda and Elisabeth) always great us wean we arrive and as we leave. My father loves Dr. Jim Reape he has also been seen by other physicians but prefers Dr. Reape. Wean my 4 year was having complications with his Asthma and had been seen weekly by many providers at Family Medical Group, wean Dr. Reape saw him he gave us advice and new medications.
A year later and my son has not had an asthma attack or complications. My Grandparents sees Dr. James Maclaren, he always takes the time to listen to my grandparents story's and call to check on them at home. My Grandmother ended up in the hospital with hart problems and being that he's not a hart Dr he was the only one who followed up with her and made sure treatments were being scheduled and medication given properly.
If it wasn't for him being so attentive she would have had an overdose on medication the hospital provided. I'm so Grateful for such caring dr.'s and staff. I can always call and leave massages for the dr.'s and they or someone from staff gets back to me within minutes. My children love coming to Family Medical Group and playing in the play areas and at the end of the visit they get a sticker, no more crying and screaming they don't want to go to the dr. Thank you Family Medical Group

For those of you who live in Turlock, consider this a fair warning -- DO NOT choose Family Medical Group on Tuolumne as your physicians. Their billing team is completely incompetent, which has created a nightmare of headaches for my husband and I that has taken us a year to resolve. FMG markets to the public that they are a Christian medical facility, yet there is nothing Christian about this unethical practice. I'm only rating this practice as 1-star, because zero is not an option. Stay far, far away.

If you need a Dr., stay clear and as far away from this run down, filthy looking office! Furthermore, if you are assigned to Dr. James Knapp, I highly recommend you change doctors FAST! This Dr. did not take the time to know my history and me for that matter. His remarks were rude and all the mean while he was bickering as to why he can't examine nor inquire further info about my back, he told me I need to make another appointment.then went on to say another rude comment which I would rather not say.
If you have an insurance that allows you to seek coverage in the bay area, do so. My experience was horrible and never will I come back to this place nor see any doctor in Stanislaus county.
