For over 30 years, our team of nationally board-certified pediatricians has been providing the most comprehensive pediatric care in the area. Cottonwood Pediatrics is committed to providing your children with the best pediatric care in the area. We believe that children need health care providers who are specially trained in children's medicine. We believe that children are not little adults. Their labs, x-rays and problems are different, and they can get sick more quickly than adults because their immune systems are still developing.

If you have moved to the area, or are looking for a provider for any reason, we would be glad to see you. If we meet you in the hospital after you deliver, we will admit your newborn to Newton Medical Center, perform the routine newborn testing and checks, dismiss your baby when it is time to go home, and give you follow up care.
If your child previously received care from another provider at another clinic or office, his/her records are not automatically transferred to our office. Please fill a request for medical records and either send it to us so we can submit it or you can also request it yourself. Your provider may want the records before an appointment so do it as soon as you can.
Cottonwood Pediatrics is located in the Medical Office Plaza, just south of the Newton Medical Center entrance. Turn left off Medical Center Drive at the first entrance, take the first parking lot entrance to the right. Come into the building from the west entrance, and we are just off the rotunda to your right in Suite 150.

I'm a first time mom and started bringing my newborn to Dr. Watkins. She is wonderful at her job and always makes my husband and I feel like we know what we are doing and that we are doing a good job. The receptionist are pretty dang good as well. But the reason I give this 2 stars instead of 5 is because of the nurses. I have yet to have a single one treat us kindly.
They are not friendly. When my son came in for his 2 month vaccines I left in tears and was absolutely livid. The nurses did not say a word to us, and they did not handle my baby with gentleness or care what so ever. I used to work at a veterinary clinic and we handled people's DOGS in a more kind and professional manner than the nurses here were handling my 2 month old baby. If you bring your child here don't be afraid to stand up for yourself or your kid.

Dr Watkins was my sons first and only pediatrician. She showed up the day he was born (four years ago) and did his initial once over. Both of my children have always have great care/service given by all nurses, doctors, and office staff. My four year old loves Dr Watkins and has never been afraid to go get checked out. She's always so personable and has never made me feel like my concerns are silly. I recommend cotton wood Peds to anyone and everyone!

We tried many different Drs before stumbling upon cottonwood. My boys are non verbal and autistic. The previous pediatricians we tried did not respect their autonomy. They made comments about the worth of their lives and tried to send them for antipsychotics when they had anxiety about being at the Dr. Needless to say we were anxious about trying again.
The moment Dr Watkins walked in I felt at ease. She was kind and easy going she spoke to both me and my son. She respected his autonomy when he declined her looking in his throat and did not push when he was uncomfortable but she was also thorough with her exam. She listened to what I said while also providing feedback of her own in a respectful manner.
My son who has MAJOR Dr anxiety did not shed one tear the entire time we were there and we both left at ease. I highly recommend Dr Watkins and while I haven't met any of the other Drs in the office everyone seemed very friendly.
