The Foundation of the Connecticut Academy of Family Physicians was established in 2011 to enable the Academy to expand its activities to ensure quality health care for the people of Connecticut. Representing family medicine and family physicians, the Foundation will provide financial assistance for continuing medical education programs, and support medical students interested in pursuing a career in family medicine.

Services
The Connecticut Academy of Family Physicians is a professional medical society dedicated to maintaining high standards of family medicine representing 600 family physicians, residents and medical students. CAFP provides members with practice-based support, education, government relations and public relations services. We advocate for family physicians and their patients while working to recruit more family physicians to care for patients across Connecticut.
The fifty-year old story of the Connecticut Academy of Family Physicians is one of commitment and caring. For five decades, physicians who believed that providing medical care to the whole family and the whole person was the bedrock of the American health care system accepted the challenge of the Academy to promote excellence in health care for the betterment of the American people.
The voice of Family Medicine needs to be heard in the State of Connecticut. From fair payment, Medicaid reimbursement, to public health issues such as vaccines, the Connecticut Academy works diligently on behalf of your practice and your patients to make sure the voice of Family Medicine is at work in the State Capitol.
The State of Connecticut has four outstanding Family Practice Residency programs. Each of the programs offers comprehensive inpatient and Family Practice Center experience designed to prepare its Residents for a career in Family Medicine. Opportunities for research are available at all four programs.
