We offer a wide range of medical services including expert care for broken bones, all types of sports injuries, overuse injuries, and more.We also have in-house Physical Therapy and Hand Therapy right on-site in our New Canaan office. Arthroscopic surgery is a minimally invasive surgical procedure on a joint in which an examination and sometimes treatment of damage is performed using an arthroscope, an endoscope that is inserted into the joint through a small incision.

Medical School: State University Health Science Center at Brooklyn School of Medicine, M.D. Dr. Brodsky graduated from the Suny Health Center/School of Medicine. He trained and worked at the Hospital for Special Surgery for five years. A Foot and Ankle Fellowship was completed at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital.

Rakesh Patel at OSSM has been amazing. I broke a rib which also resulted in some leg injuries as well. Rakesh pin pointed the right exercises for me so that now I can go on with life as normal. I will be forever grateful to him--for his skill, patience and kindness. He also knew how to graciously tell me what I could and could not do to finally end up with the right result.

I went to OSSM for hand therapy with Heather Hopkins. I had had elbow surgery for a partial tear of a tendon. It's about 6 weeks of recovery before you can start therapy, and since your wrist and elbow are immobilized there is loss of strength and range of motion. Heather is a wonderful therapist. She assigns a challenging workout both at therapy and at home, so you make progress quickly and safely. She also gives a great arm and hand massage. I have previously had hand therapy with three other therapists for three other issues and Heather is the best!

The Doctors and therapists at this place are great. However, the billing is office is TOTALLY disorganized. Check your insurance to make sure what you will be billed. JUST FYI.I asked for my bill and they sent me 56 pages of documents with other patients billing information. The billing is confusing. Just be careful

Dr. Brodsky was able to pinpoint a diagnosis for me after months of pain after another orthopedic doctor believed there was no root cause for the pain. After following his treatment plan, the pain pretty much vanished. Then, I started working with Rakesh Patel and he really helped me get back on my feet! Rakesh explained everything we were working on in a way I would understand and of how it was strengthening my afflicted area.
He is super knowledgeable about the why and how if the exercises-I looked forward our 7am appointments every week! Also, Caren is also really nice and extremely good at what she does: she makes the lobby a super welcoming place to nervous patients and even makes removing a cast fun! I would 100% recommend giving OSSM a try!

I was having a lot of discomfort for months before seeing Dr. Brooks and having therapy at his New Canaan site. The therapy administered by Rakesh Patel worked wonders! And I now have exercises to maintain the great progress I have made. I would highly recommend this office for any orthopedic issues

I visited OSSM in New Canaan after struggling for a few months with a running injury for about 5 months. I had visited other PT locations prior. I had a great experience working with Rakesh Patel and he has helped me get back to running. Rak's attention to detail and actionable advice put me on the recovery path within a couple of weeks. I'm thankful to have availed the services from Rak and others @OSSM.

I am thrilled I found Rakesh Patel for physical therapy. I am FINALLY getting better after spending almost 4 months with another PT and only slightly improving. I am walking better with less pain since working with Rakesh. He absolutely knows what he is doing and I finally have hope that I will be back to long walks with my dog.
