The doctors of Amherst Family Practice do not admit patients to the hospital; we have chosen to concentrate our attention on office practice with extended hours. Amherst Family Practice physicians remain courtesy members of the Winchester Medical Center (WMC) staff and will be kept informed of our patients' progress.

Authorization and Consent for Treatment (PDF) - All patients must provide their consent for treatment, communications (calls, emails, and text messaging), and agreement of financial responsibility.
To make sure there are no delays in care during your first visit experience, please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to ensure your registration is complete before meeting with your new provider. In an effort to respect the time of all of patients, our staff strives to stay on schedule so that other patients do not have to wait.

The staff at Amherst Family Practice are always very nice and the office is always clean. My PA Rachael Whittmore is awesome she takes the time to explain things and she never hesitates on answering any questions I might have. If I run out of my perception all I have to do is call and they send an order to my pharmacy with no hesitation. I would recommend Amherst Family Practice to anyone you will not regret it.

I found a bulge in my groin and wanted to see Dr. Bender ASAP. I sent a message via the portal. He got back to me in less than 24 hours with an appointment time already booked for me the next day. Awesome! He always makes us feel informed and that we have his full attention for as long as we need it. I'm 68 and he's the best doc I've ever experienced.

I have been a patient for over 10 years. They always take good care of me and my family. The app makes it fast and easy to see any test results and to review appointment instructions. The advice nurse is always responsive and helpful. The PAs, Emily and Nick, have great availability when I need to be seen quickly and Emily does a great job of helping me manage my overall wellness. I been going to Amhurst Family practice for years the staff has always been very helpful and professional the waiting room is spotless very sanitized. I go every 3 months for blood and follow up with Dr. Megan Williams also the pharmacist on site are excellent I for one feel very good and safe. Also you can go online and check your records. The trusted doctor with whom I I have formed a great relationship over the past several years, will be retiring soon. He is referring his current patients to this new doctor in the practice. I was very nervous about switching doctors, but after just one meeting with Dr. Ripley, I already feel more at ease. He asks thorough questions, and takes the time to listen to your responses.
He seems to genuinely care for the patients. During my visit, I was treated as a whole person, rather than just one symptom being the focus. After my doctor retires, I will continue treatment at this practice with this new doctor. Additionally, the front staff has always treated me with respect and kindness. They do their best to juggle very booked schedules to make sure patients get in when needed.
