Dental Implants Report

Dental implants replace tooth roots in the mouth. Implants provide a strong foundation for fixed or removable replacement teeth and can aid in the prevention of bone loss in the jaw. An implant supported bridge is a restorative solution for spaces where three or more adjacent teeth are missing. This restoration typically requires two implants to support the porcelain bridge.

Bone Grafting Report

Bone grafting may be required to address defects in a patient's jaw. Bone grafting is a form of reconstructive surgery that helps to generate and rebuild bone and increase bone density. The most common bone grafting procedure is performed to enhance the upper or lower jaw bone in order to increase bone quantity and density in preparation for the placement of dental implants.

Oral Pathology Report

Oral pathology encompasses oral disease, their causes, and their effects. Oral diseases have a number of causes, including biological, chemical, or physical agents or hormonal or developmental changes. Abnormal tissues in the head and neck regions are called lesions. Different types of lesions can indicate different pathologies; such as benign lesions or malignant lesions (cancers). Our surgeons will perform a complete head and neck exam, which includes the oral cavity in order to determine if a biopsy is required.

Orthodontic Exposure Report

If children are undergoing orthodontic treatment, or interested in beginning treatment, then the orthodontic exposure procedure can expose unerupted teeth so that patients can move forward with their orthodontic treatment. Your surgeon can deflect gum tissue and, if necessary, adjust bone that may be blocking tooth eruption to clear a path for the tooth to erupt. Our office will partner with your child's orthodontist to coordinate this procedure with the orthodontic treatment plan.

Highly recommend Berkshire Facial Surgery. Their office staff was so compassionate with my elderly mother last year handling a tooth extraction. She is not a fan of any dental work, and they made sure she was comfortable and pain free. A follow-up phone call to check in on her, by Dr Bontempi himself, was quite a surprise and much appreciated. I just went for an evaluation to determine if an implant was the right procedure for me. Dr Bontempi once again was easy to talk with and clearly explained what would be involved. Very honest and upfront about what would be best for my particular needs. Dr. Bontempi and all of the Berkshire Facial Surgery staff were friendly, careful and thorough. Going to the oral surgeon is not anyone's favorite activity but, this entire practice did a great job communicating from consultation through the procedure. He even followed-up to check on me. By its very nature visiting an oral surgeon is a painful process, but Dr. Bontempi took it step-by-step and made it quite manageable. I am very pleased with the results.

Dr. Bontempi and his team replaced two of my teeth with implants. Excellent job! For comparison, I had a consultation with an outfit in Woburn. This office did everything "in-house" with the only difference being that they make their teeth from zirconium, whereas Berkshire facial surgery makes their teeth from porcelain. Oh yeah, and the price was significantly lower with the porcelain.

While I could probably find a lower price somewhere, I felt more comfortable going with someone local. If there's an issue, they are there to stand behind their work. Highly recommend!
