As one of the first sports medicine specialists on Long Island, Dr. Cherney has cared for high school, college, and professional atheletes for over 30 years. At Stony Brook University he established the Sports Medicine Program and serves as head team physician for Stony Brook and St. Joseph's College.
All-Sport Orthopaedic Surgery was established in 2004 to broaden the scope and availability of state-of-the-art sports injury treatment to all athletes. Dr. Cherney has expanded his practice to include youth sports and older recreational athletes, and continues to do so.

Dr. Stuart Cherney received his medical degree in 1977 from the Albany Medical College, and subsequently completed a residency in orthopaedics at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City. His post-doctoral training included a Fellowship at the prestigious Cincinnati Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Knee & Sports Medicine.
