If you need a Rheumatologist, I'd like to recommend Dr. Bivin Varghese, in New Rochelle, NY. As a woman, I'm usually only comfortable with female Dr's, but Dr. Varghese was wonderful, patient and kind. He spent as much time with me as needed, explained everything very carefully, with compassion and care, and without an ounce of condescension.
Smart and thorough, my visit with him was a very pleasant experience, and I highly recommend him. The staff was lovely and accommodating as well. All in all, an excellent Doctor. Thank you, Dr V!

This security guard was ither on meds or on drugs, I was told to wait in the waiting room from front desk after coming in the emergency entrance. The nurse and doctors were efficient 10 mins in the waiting room im told I can't be here when I asked why they failed multiple time to articulate any explanation. I started recording the incident and the security guard Jose Cabrera literally pushed me.
This was my first time visit to this hospital and I thank God I recorded it and even addressed it to his supervisor. I will follow up on legal actions to the hospital for failure to properly train and drug test security guards amongst failing to understand the constitutional rights we have. So because of this the hospital as a whole will receive 2.

Today I went the second time out of the week to go see my mother who is suffering from two different forms of cancer and unbearable stomach pain, I thank the doctors and nurses that are caring for her but there is the rest of the staff that is unbelievably inconsiderate, her room was so cold it felt like we were outside and it's disgusting. She and her roommate had to wait so long for another kind of service when her main nurses leave for the evening it's absolutely horrible.
For extra blankets it took them hours to bring her something, for them to heat up food because all her doctors came to check on her to see if she was okay and to talk to her about next steps, nothing but cold food. For someone to come fix the temperature in the room. No one came. Y'all gotta do better, can't be the some pulling the weight for everyone else.

I sent my father to this hospital at 3 am and he was not treated till 3 pm in the evening and he was really sick with a stomachache. Also they didn't take samples of his stool and only gave him IV. They let him sit there for a long time and his problem could have gotten worse. Please do better next time.

If you cherish your life, your family, and you have Covid, Please don't go here. The 5th Floor of 111 E 210 St, Bronx is absolutely horrible. The staff does not care and there is a lack of training/soft skills. My grandmother was in the hospital and the energy received was that they just wanted to fill another bed. Dr. Aneta Ostrowska was horrible and there was also a critical care doctor that was terrible.
No empathy, no people skills. Cassandra Berrios was the only one on that floor that was professional, understanding, and had soft skills. She's great. The 7th floor was much more welcoming with better staff. Celest was also awesome. I'm however disappointed in the hospital and they use Covid as an excuse, in my grandmothers last moments we were not allowed to see her. If you are gravely sick or expect quality care please don't go here. There needs to be a thural investigation, they use covid as an excuse for everything.

Dr. Alicia Rodlon Wakefield Campus in addition to her dedication to her medical duties took the time to explain the wording of medical jargon that was of concern. She was sensitive and caring in her approach. The Wakefield team on the 4 south take the time to ensure that I get an update on my brother's care daily. When I visit the floor the nurses are caring and gives instructions on universal precautions to ensure the safety of visitors and patient. As I pray for my brother's recovery I am grateful to the team that care for him daily. Thank you all for the work you do.

Worst hospital and people to associate with. Why the F*** do I have to waste 15:27 just to get a number to my doctor's office when the woman could have just told me that she could provide it since I had a customer service center for the hospital? I had to get grief from the supervisor as well. When she told me she could give me the doctor's assistant's number, I said to go ahead, and she stated that I should let her explain why.
I did not care why. I just wanted the number now, and for future use. So, now I had another 36 seconds of my life wasted. I seriously think it is time to find another doctor. I work in the health industry and I have worked customer service and a call center. I don't talk like this to my callers so why should I have to put up with this horseshit?!

Horrible hospital. Probably the worst i have ever experienced. Everyone is miserable no one wants to work or do anything. All the nurses argue with eachother and with patients. This place is more like a prison then a hospital. Absolutely disgusting- they dont clean anywhere and the whole place is absolutely filthy. Horrible customer experience from start to finish. If you can go somewhere else please do. This place is the absolute worst.

My mother was diagnosed with a double pneumonia after being sick for a month in urgent care. Urgent care gave her prednisone for 3 days and penicillin; but on Wednesday, she began to have difficulty with her breathing and chest pains. So my sister decided to bring her to this hospital. Needless to say that they did not treat her at all. They never gave her oxygen or aspirin.
They took a covid test and said that she was positive. What was interesting was that she took two covid tests prior and both were negative. It's mind boggling how the covid info says if you're experiencing chest pains or having difficulty breathing to go to the emergency room. The medics offered her the antibodies as treatment but my mom declined, all she needed was the prednisone because she is still taking the penicillin.
Let me be clear here, Covid is a virus, it needs to run its course in your body, just like a cold but whatever develops in your body should be treated. My mom has pneumonia. That was the issue not covid, to release her without medical treatment is irresponsible and unethical. I'm not understanding why these people have become doctors or nurses?
To watch them come back and intubate them or have them wait in the emergency room while they are coughing their lungs out and you guys watch them die. Is this an insurance issue that this hospital is interested in instead of savings lives. These doctors need to focus on the diagnosis instead of the virus. A virus is a virus! Focus on the underlying sickness, that's what matters.
I had a respiratory infection and tested two days later for covid. My doctors gave me prednisone and antibiotics because that what was I came in for and diagnosed prior too. They told me to continue taking the meds because they were dealing with my respiratory infection and covid needs to run itself out. What covid is: it's starts off as a cold and turns into a respiratory infection.
Once you have the pain in your chest and ears. It has become an infection. I was treated for a respiratory infection and I was fine. I took that experience and ran with my mother. I did get her prednisone somewhere else and thanking God that she is taking her penicillin and prednisone right now. Her chest is not hurting anymore and her breathing is fine. She's on the mend. These doctors should be ashamed of themselves! Horrible.

As a visitor the staff is horrible. They misinform you and then are sarcastic and condensing with their replies of I'm so sorry. I was told I would be able to visit my relative and I traveled more than an hour to get there only to be told I could not visit. I requested to speak to a charge nurse and they continued to deny me in speaking with him or her.
I told my relative not to go to this hospital but I got exactly what I expected. Never again will I visit, be patient, or have anything positive to say about miserable montefiore!

AVOID AVOID AVOID. Incompetence all around from the staff in the hospital, and all doctors' offices affiliated off campus. Sending pathology report faxes to oncologists upside down, when you call the main hospital the operator switches you to the department without saying a word to you, security is a joke, complete chaos from the second you walk into the doors to the second you're running out (and trust me you'll run). Patients/visitors fighting with the staff, you name it, they got it going on!
My father had an appointment today for an MRI, he waited over an hour to be told the machine was broken. Best believe they took that co-pay though! Welcome to the circus. If we left my father's care in their hands, he would probably be dead within a month. I will never step foot in this place again. GOOD RIDDANCE!

IFYOU SUFFER FROM SICKLE CELL ANEMIA WHAT EVER YOU DO AVOID MONTIFORE HOSPITAL WEILER BLDG, 9 North. The expirence my daughter had there with their PA and doctors was horrible. Avoid their if you can. Go to Beth Israel in Manhattan you'll have a better chance of good treatment minus the poss poor attitude of the staff of that ward.

I had my mother released against medical advice from Lebanon in order to get her admitted to Montefiore. Im glad I did. Yes the wait time in the ER was 10 hours but it was packed. They were thorough and the doctors and nurses were attentive, kind, and explained everything. She received excellent care. Special mention for Destiny the person in charge of TV services.
I encountered an issue and dealt with a belligerent, unprofessional, rude woman who hung up on me before I could get her name. Very nasty individual who needs to learn professionalism in the workplace and the reason I gave four stars. Destiny personally came and was great and a sweetheart. She offered a solution and was very courteous. A++++++ for Destiny.

*This review is for the cafeteria only.* This is a large hospital and the area is sometimes referred to as Montefiore Country, since there are quite a lot of offices connected to this hospital for several blocks. Opinions vary on the actual hospital and while I'm sure some aspects are quite good, others are probably not. For example, if my intestines were hanging out, I'd probably attempt to put them back in myself rather than go inside this ER.
In fact, you're probably healthier OUTSIDE Monte ER's than inside. If you want to spend an average of 12 or more hours, want to be uncomfortable, and risk sickness, then the ER is for you. But I digress. I sometimes work in the area and decided to change up my lunch options and try the cafeteria - knowing that it IS a hospital cafeteria in the first place.
Depending on the time you go, you may or may not find seating - but there is plenty of it during a less crowded time. They do clean, but it's not as frequent as they should. It's very spacious, so you don't have to sit next to anyone if you prefer not to. There is also a charging station for your devices inside here. The food itself ranges, but most is decent - the problem is the selection. Montefiore is a Jewish hospital, so the food is always prepared Kosher.
Plus Montefiore is on their "health" kick, so you won't get the best beverage selection inside (unless you find the gift shop) and only what they deem as healthy (water, oj, diet/sugar free soda, etc). They go hard sometimes on their vegan specialties, so even if you're not a vegan have fun. Depending on when you go, they have pre-made sandwiches available. Again, Montefiore prepares the way they deem it and not how a lot of others would normally like it, so be prepared.
They do have a deli inside, but I haven't tried it yet to see the difference. The hot food menu is different daily and sometimes the options are decent. They also have a salad bar, but it lacks during less busy times. The staff is usually ok. They have more than enough condiments to satisfy most. It's a little pricier than they have any right to be, but due to the limitations of food choices in the area, it's sometimes a safe bet and worth spending the extra few cents to eat a little healthier (when I want to Monte, not when YOU want to) at times.
Also some of the businesses in the area don't have adequate seating for lunch options, so this is where the added value (to me) is. Parking is horrendous. The area is busy and the main streets are metered. There is plenty of signage for alternate side and just general no parking, so unless you're on foot or use mass transit and are going to be in the area anyway, I'd never come here just for this place. Again, I sometimes work in the area, so it's ok for me. Monte's parking garages are often full and overcharge (even for employees). So say what you will about the actual hospital and it's surrounding facilities, but as far as their cafeteria goes, it isn't a bad choice in the area at times.

PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE ER HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO DIE AND OR ARE USED TO UNSYMPATHETIC HEALTH PROFESSIONALS. NURSES GIVE ZERO Fs ABOUT YOUR WELL BEING! I have been coming to this hospital since I was a newborn and I am beyond disappointed. I will be contacting HR and I will complain on all social media about how they hire health care professionals who obviously do not like people, along with switching my hospitals.
The staff they have working the ER on gunhill road/bainbridge right now (Tuesday March 7th 12AM) needs to be RE TRAINED. I have severe abdominal pain and I'm walking home in tears right now. I came in told the nurse there my symptoms and she couldn't have made it clearer that she couldn't care less. Facial expressions are louder than words. 20 minutes later when the pain was too much I told her "I think I need to go, I'm in so much pain and I need to lay down" this "nurse" continued filling out her forms and said "well it's your choice" when I said I would come back tomorrow she said nothing. Didn't ask how I felt didn't even ask how bad the pain was.
Thank you Montefiore. After 22 years, you've shown me how much you care about your patients. Like I said I'll be contacting whoever I need to, to make sure I'm heard.
