Visionary Optometry has been a leading provider of optometry services and vision care products in Hermosa Beach for more than 20 years. We just moved to our new offices at 915 S. Dr. Ken Chu offers comprehensive vision examinations at our Redondo Beach office serving the communities of Torrance, Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach. We specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide array of eye diseases, conditions, and problems.
Services
A standard eye exam by Dr. Chu covers a complete medical history including both eye and your general health. A series of tests will be conducted, including Visual Acuity, muscle balance tests, peripheral vision and papillary responses. A Refraction determines your best possible vision at both distance and near.
At Visionary Optometry in Redondo Beach, we strive to accept the insurance plans carried by most of the residents and employers near us in Torrance, Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach. If you are not sure which insurance plan you have, call us and we'll help you find out or call your Human Resource person and they should be able to tell you what your coverage is.
At the age of 5, he and his family moved to Camarillo, California where he, his mother, father, two sisters and brother grew up amongst the strawberry fields, long before there were any outlet malls. Dr. Chu went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree from U.C.L.A. and his Optometric Doctor degree from the Illinois College of Optometry.

Even though I had never seen him before, Dr. Chu was so kind to get me in immediately when I woke up with a painful, abraded cornea. He took the time to diagnose and discuss the issue so that I will avoid having this ever happen again. Dr. Chu also cared about how I was doing and had me call on his days off to monitor my healing. He is a top notch optometrist who truly cares about his patients! Thank you, Dr. Chu.

Dr. Chu is the best eye doctor I've ever had. I can tell that he really cares about me and my long term eye health. He spent 45 minutes with me today performing my eye exam, answering my questions, recommending supplements, discussing the pros and cons of blue light glasses, and helping me choose my new frames. If you're looking for an eye doctor in the South Bay, he should be your guy!
