Absolutely the best ER/Hospital ive ever been to. Was in the ER waiting room maybe 3min before being called back. Within 2hrs or less they found a blood clot in my lung and had me in my own room. Staff was beyond friendly, compassionate, & respectful. Helped me set up insurance since I moved from out of state & answered any and every question or concern I had. Cant give enough praise to the staff.

Arrived @ the ER approx 10:40pm with c/o vomiting, lightheadedness, and difficulty breathing. Waited approximately 15 mins then I asked the receptionist texting on his phone if I could check my O2 sat I'm having problems breathing. He called out a nurse named Jeanette Bowles RN I explained to her my breathing is not normal can I please have my sats assessed.
She has my chart and calls me back. Jeanette Bowles ignored my SOB and start asking me a series of non related questions. After approximately 10 questions I said do I have to die to get you to take my oxygen level I'm having trouble breathing. Jeanette Bowles became aggressive, hostile, and raises her voice saying "if you get nasty with me I'll get back nasty with you" while continuing to ignore my request to assess my sats. Attempted to explain to her I'm afraid I'm normally a healthy person and if she was in my shoes she would understand. Jeanette Bowles RN continued to ignore my request further I pulled out a pen and recorded her first name from her badge.
She becomes even the more aggressive practically yelling out her last name so I ask for a supervisor or chief name because obviously Jeanette Bowles is comfortable demonstrating this aggressive, hostile behavior, abusive behavior. Jeanette in a rude, aggressive, hostile manor states "I can go get him". I asked Jeanette was she ok she responds in a hostile tone "I'm fine" however her tone said otherwise. Jeanette finally takes my O2 sat and aggressively and in a hostile tone states"your Sats is 100" To receive poor care, poor service, and to have one's shortness of breath ignored I INTENTIONALLY yet bill my insurance is sad. I did make a patient complaint and was instructed to contact Dinih Lazarte head of patient complaints so we will see how this goes.

The ER doesn't care about its patients. I have had 3 horrible experiences there that could have cost me or my family our lives. I've walked back and witnessed nurses doing each others hair, or worrying about ordering food instead of taking care of patients. Today, my 9 year old was brought in with EVERY sign of heat stroke and was ignored. You didn't even triage him. You're absolutely incompetent and I will be seeking counsel.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Steer clear of this hospital if you have an emergency. My fiance and I brought our 11-month-old baby in today because she had been choking. By the time we got there, the obstruction had dislodged just barely enough the baby could start to breathe somewhat normally again, but wasn't completely removed. From the very time of our arrival we were treated as if we were overreacting to a cold. Nurses asked 'is she just coughing or is she choking?' And other things of the like.
We were there 20 minutes and weren't seen for the reason we came. We were instead only met with sarcasm and eye rolls as if we didn't know the difference between choking and a cold. Within 15 minutes of our being there, the baby began to choke again (because the obstruction was still there). When my fiance alerted the nurses they ignored her. Shortly after this, the baby coughed up a piece of plastic she'd swallowed in our home, proving she had indeed been choking.
This staff was totally disinterested and annoyed that we were there. They had written us off as soon as we walked in and the baby wasn't actively choking. This ER staff is not interested in taking care of you or your family. Go to Comanche County Memorial.

I absolutely LOVE Dr. Mason. She's great. What has been a constant source of frustration for the last 2 years is: 1. Phone calls almost always go to voicemail. I have to leave messages for my refills. Voicemail messages never get passed on. Or they're relayed incorrectly. I call repeatedly until someone finally answers. But 75% of the time those messages aren't addressed. 2.
I can't log into the patient portal as it says I'm not a patient. I've tried this repeatedly and I work with computers so it's not me. I've asked for technical support and I was told they don't have that. They can only reset the password. I can't believe there isn't someone who can provide technical support. This means I can't request refills thru the patient portal.
These refills are important as I'm not supposed to be skipping doses. I've now been without my antidepressant for almost a week. I'm in tears because I am so thru with this place. I cannot recommend Southwestern Medical Center to anyone who really needs reliable medical help. And Southwestern, why do you leave copy and paste responses to bad reviews that are obviously insincere? Reviewers have been very clear with what's going on but from the different posting dates it's apparent nothing is being addressed.

I had to knock a star off for the fact that I had a negative experience at this hospital years ago. I only reluctantly returned because the wait time at ccmh was outrageous and I was desperate for help. However, the care I received from Dr. Oliver deserves to be mentioned and honestly. I cannot say enough good things. He truly made me feel like a real human being with feelings and not just another number, which is a rarity these days especially in a ER setting.
He actually listened to me and was very knowledgeable. The two RNs I had were lovely as well. Maybe I just got lucky on a slow day but I am glad I gave this hospital another chance.

My Mom had a stomach scope done by Dr. Prattini here at Southwestern Medical hospital. The nurses were all very compassionate and Tracy was Moms main nurse. She was so helpful as my Mom was in quite a bit of pain. The Anesthesiologist Marty, was excellent! He explained everything very well and made my Mom feel more relaxed. She was nervous about the procedure. Dr. Prattini was the best Doctor I've ever been around.
He was funny and he really put Mom at ease about everything. I have been to several doctors in 3 different states, Ive had 4 back surgeries, 5 colonoscopy's and 5 scopes, and various other procedures with many different Doctors of different specialties. Dr. Prattini has the best bed side manor for patients and I've ever seen. The whole staff was awesome! I would give them 100 stars if possible!

I guess if you don't have c0vid, they just don't care. Went in after falling while hiking, was unable to walk. Dr came in and said based off the x-ray that nothing was wrong. No exam. Asked me if I wanted them to "try to wrap it" then they brought in a bent knee brace despite the fact that my knee was completely unable to bend that way so I couldn't wear it.
I ended up going to my regular Dr and finding out I have a torn minuscus. I did further damage to my knee by walking on it after going to the ER when it was locking up and giving out, which could have been prevented had they recommended I stay off it and given me crutches. now I may need surgery and still can't use it properly.

I went to the ER yesterday with terrible breathing from having covid. They got me in fast and hooked up to an IV and started the meds I was needing right away. Dr. Oliver came and explained everything to me in a way I could understand. He truly made me feel comfortable and cared for! The treatment was so helpful! The nurses and even the lab techs were the sweetest people. I'm so so thankful for the staff at this hospital!

I recently went there for what I thought was a sprained foot, that turned out to be broken. My nurse and the x-ray technician were friendly and professional, which is why I am rating this hospital two starts versus one. However, the admissions staff need to practice better discretion. They had no issues with voicing their opinions aloud about what brought me there and I felt it wasn't their place to. Also, I was forced to "hop" through the length of the emergency room until I got to my observation room (which was towards the very back).
I wasn't offered a wheelchair or any other assistance at any time. I ended up leaving the hospital with only one crutch that was my height, not two, due to a shortage of those items. Overall, my rating is based off of several experiences my family has had at this facility. My wife had an even worse visit there last year, which is why I am choosing to avoid using this hospital in the future.

This review is for the ER. And for the "RN" Stephanie. The fat rude nurse with the limp hair. Not only does she sigh for simple requests, she let me throw up for 5 hours and refused to ask the doc for more zofran. The dr Abdullah was nice. But it took so long to see him. My liver function was so high. Stephanie if you hate your job so much go work at McDonald's. You're a real bitch. Run and tell that. And no I won't be wasting my time to talk to staff who doesn't care.

Don't ever go to this hospital, my 7year old son was rushed in by ambulance and falling on a water slide and bashed his head open. My wife and son were there for 4 hours, had a ct scan done and bloodwork. Then they didn't clean the wound said there was no gashes or anything and threw a half assed cause on his head that didn't cover the entire wound let alone the bandage hung done past his feet.
I called and talked the practical nurse and she was very rude and told me to calm down before she got angry. My wife took my son to another clinic and was taken back to have everything cleaned to find out there was gashes on his head and a concussion. This is not the first time my family and I have had issues with this hospital and I will never be going back there again!

I'm sad I have to leave. They have been so good to me during my stay here. I would stay here the whole 6weeks of recovery time if I could. They have a great staff and medical team. This was a new experience for me. Here they made me feel safe and kept good on their promise, when insuring me that I am in good hands. A+, 5stars, and any other top rating out there. Thank you for taking care of me.

This was the worst medical care I've ever received in my life. The hospital was old and dirty. Not only did I sit in a blood stained gown for over 2 days(I was out of it), the ICU nurse ignored me to the point that she forgot to reconnect me to pain meds and my IV fluids after a CAT scan until family came hours later and noticed. My chest tube was not placed properly, rather than giving me any numbing agent the doctor cut my stitches repositioned the tube and restitched it back with no numbing agent.
Then saying "it would have been too much hassle to numb you, this was quicker." The day of the insertion the doctor dropped equipment no less than 3 times, my nurse took my medical information on a paper napkin(real secure and professional right?). I didn't eat for over 24 hours(not medically necessary), I was not offered and then after asking was not brought hygiene products meaning I smelled for a good day and a half until I rode my call light.
I had to go back to the er following my discharge, my heart rate dropped so low I passed out. My monitor was going off, every single nurse was on their cellphone or gossiping about their coworkers. My friend walked to their nurses station to tell them I was going in and out and the nurse responded with "oh she must be sleepy from her pain meds" and didn't bother to do more that stick her head in the door.
I was absolutely not falling asleep I was passing out and my friend gave me more medical care than the phone obsessed nurses. The girl giving me a new CAT scan pushed contrast in way to fast. And while we were in the waiting room a lady was having full on seizures/spasms and not one nurse showed a sense of urgency until her insurance card was verified.
She was sliding down to the floor, the receptionist was on her cellphone and looking back to the ER through their window low and behold there are all the nurses on their phones or eating lunch and yes they were fully aware of the situation since one of them walked to the window, peeked out then walked back to the station to tell them all. Once they verified her Tricare they wheeled her back and the offered no reassurance to their patient. As someone who works in nursing I'd be ashamed to be any of them, their level of care and pride for their work is nonexistent. I will never go to this hospital again.
