Services
After 31 years of pediatric care in the greater Portland community, Dr. McCloskey has retired from Sunset Pediatrics. In retirement she plans to spend a lot of time with her husband, fishing, enjoying the great outdoors and visiting the wonderful United States. While she will no longer be giving clinical advice, she would love to hear about your family's successes, milestones and fun times.
Sunset has dedicated nurses to answer patient phone calls throughout the day. Parents are welcome to call to get answers to routine questions and concerns and to help determine a child's need to come in for an appointment. While our doctors and staff make great efforts to handle appropriate concerns over the phone, most illnesses are best evaluated in person.
Please notify our office if you are sending in forms or other media as that inbox is not regularly monitored. If you have billing related updates or inquiries, you can email us at billing@sunsetpediatrics.com or by submitting your question through the patient portal. At each Well Child Check, once your child turns 11, the pediatricians at Sunset Pediatrics strongly recommend that your child complete an adolescent questionnaire. Per Oregon Health Authority guidelines, we use a well-studied and validated questionnaire called the SBIRT (CRAFFT & PHQ 2/9).

My sons are in their late teens and we have had absolutely the best experience ever with Dr. McCloskey at Sunset Pediatrics since the day each of them were born. There's no way to describe her attention to detail, her depth of compassion, the clinic's level of service and the follow through on every level. Dr. McCloskey and her staff have enhanced my experience as a parent with some very special circumstances. They - and she - have been a steadfast support to my family that I will never forget.

I never leave reviews but I wanted to share my experience. Friday night my two year old son had a fever and was coughing. I called Sunset right as they opened on Saturday and left a message for the nurse. They called me back within 15 minutes and were able to get my son in just an hour later. We had Megan as our medical assistant. She did my son's rapid test for COVID and was great with him.
We then met with Dr. DeVoe and it was our first time meeting her. I can now see why everyone loves her. We had his tests results back within minutes and it was positive. Dr. DeVoe was so sweet and sympathetic. She answered all my questions and concerns. So thank you everyone at Sunset! If anyone is looking for a great pediatrician I highly recommend Dr. Palmer (my son's pediatrician) and Dr. DeVoe!

Sunset Pediatrics is going downhill and I suspect they are offering incentives or paying people for the positive reviews. We had a NICU baby and started with Dr. Carassco back in April. She left suddenly after seeing her for a few months. The communication around her departure was terrible and left us scrambling to get in with a new pediatrician for our babies 6 month appointment.
It seemed like a sketch situation. We started seeing Dr. McClusky who was great but she just announced she's retiring. I specifically expressed my concern over continuity of care to the front desk team before scheduling with McClusky. We now have a 7 month old preemie who has already been through two pediatricians. Not a great situation.

We love Sunset Pediatrics! Dr DeVoe is fantastic & all my kids love seeing her! (we've seen other doctors at the practice during emergencies and have had great experiences with all of them) She is very aware, thorough and has worked with us on many issues including newborn babies, long term ADHD care and teenager questions & issues. We started using her in the hospital when our daughter was a newborn and have had our teens girls see her up to age 18. They have all felt very comfortable with her! The staff is friendly, organized and promptly responds to my questions and requests.
