Established in 1985, Northern Virginia Pulmonary and Critical Care Associates (NVPCCA) prides itself on bringing academic level subspecialty care to our community. It is our mission to provide exceptional pulmonary care to our patients without losing the feel of a small practice. We have been serving the Northern Virginia area as well as neighboring areas in Maryland and Washington DC in this capacity for almost three decades. Our physicians trained at some of the top academic medical institutions around the United States and believe that caring for their patients is a privilege.

Services
Pulmonary medicine is a subspecialty discipline of Internal Medicine. After completing medical school, all of our physicians have completed a three year residency in Internal Medicine and an additional three year subspecialty fellowship in both Critical Care Medicine and Pulmonary Diseases. All of our physicians are board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in Pulmonary Diseases. Many of our physicians maintain additional active ABIM board certification in Internal Medicine and Critical Care Medicine.
Please read through the following information for both first time and returning patient visits. If you are unable to keep an appointment, please give the office 24-hour notice so that another patient can be seen. If you do not need to see a physician but need a biologic injection, a vaccination or blood drawn please call the office to make an appointment.
If you are a referring physician and would like to request a pulmonary consultation for your patient, please call 703 641 8616 and ask to be transferred to the Physician Coordinator. After hours, please call 703 641 8616 and press "1" to leave a message for the on-call physician. Please leave a detailed message including patient location, patient name and MRN, reason for consult and your contact information.

I have received great care from Dr. Libre and the rest of the medical staff. However, I can only give four stars because they never respond to voicemails I've left. Over the last two months I've been directed to the triage coordinator's voicemail and left about four messages. They responded to one message about a week later. It seems like the office is understaffed and unable to handle the number of patients they have.

Dr. Bloom tried to prescribe medication and diagnoses outside of his area of expertise. This is incredibly dangerous and he refused to let me speak/got visibly angry when I told him that this area was being handled by a specialist (the issue was with another organ, not lung related) and the medication he was asking would have had severe medical complications. If you are thinking of going to see him, please don't! His other Google reviews (not the full practice's reviews) have similar stories.

I had the luck and pleasure of seeing doctor Shubha V. Srinivas, MD, MPH. for the first time in April 2022. I'd recommend her and the practice without hesitation. It has been years since I have been amazed by a physician. Dr. Srinivas demonstrated refined bedside manners, sound listening skills, depth of knowledge, and an ability and desire to explain things in a simple manner.

This pulmonary practice is really first class. The front office team is very efficient and pleasant. They strive to be helpful. I had been referred to Dr. Sukkar unsure exactly what was wrong. She has been outstanding in working very hard to take great care of me. She is concerned and takes the time explain and talk which certainly makes me feel better. Dr. Sukkar has coordinated all efforts with my other doctors and I really feel that she actually stays on top of them!
I can absolutely say that I feel I am in excellent hands and feel extremely fortunate that I was referred to her. She is the best. I always leave the office feeling much better. Highly recommend!

Dr. Williams is a brilliant, caring, communicative doctor who goes above and beyond for his patients. Dr. Williams listens intently and patiently to your concerns, is a terrific diagnostician, and thinks outside the box for solutions. He truly prioritizes his patients' care. I met Dr. Williams in the hospital when he was assigned to my son's care. I was so impressed with the positive impact he had on my son's care, I made an appointment with Dr. Williams a few years later when I needed a pulmonologist!

I was referred to this place over a year ago and glad I went. Dr Vaid is awesome. He takes the time to listen to you about youth health issues. He also starts from ground zero and works his way up to get to the root of your problem, which is definitely a plus. Also, the entire staff is very professional. They make you feel comfortable and welcome. Again, awesome job Dr Vaid and the entire staff for all you do.
