Great for traditional appointments - in person. Don't waste your time with virtual appointment. From what I can tell, you sign up for an appointment and sit in a virtual waiting room until you realize you're not getting to speak with the doctor. No acknowledgment, no reassurance they will be with you anytime in the near future. An hour passes and I hadno idea if anyone knows I'm waiting, and I need advice.

Front staff is polite and helpful, nurses are excellent and caring, Dr Cortes has been providing the care we need many years. Excellent care.

This receptionist named "justice" called me and asked me a question pertaining to my boyfriend.before I could get a sentence out she hangs up in my face. Three zero stars for her extremely rude and unprofessional behavior.if their front desk is this bad. Who can say what the doctors are like

Never on schedule. Doc makes appts for hours before he actually arrives so not surprising that the wait is 30+ minutes past scheduled appt time. And the staff can't seem to understand why this would upset anyone, after all it's all retired folks with nothing better to do, right? If that weren't rude enough, it's false. I bring my Mom, for example, and need to get back to work! About to leave again as 30 minutes past appt time is 3 minutes away. Definitely finding another practice.

Dr. Julio Cortes and his nurses, Katina and Lakeisha, are the best primary care/internist team I've ever had. I took my 90 year old mother there, and Dr. Cortes was so thorough that I then changed to him, myself. My sister and her husband both go to him, and now my husband does also. He spends enough time to explain things and he LISTENS. He stays up to date with research and is very knowledgeable. I recommend him to everyone.

I never had an issue until today when i was taking x-rays and it seems the techs were being unprofessional by using the equipment to look at my body parts that wasn't ordered by the doctor. When I asked why the equipment was pointed so low, she said I supposedly had a long stomach. In which I replied, my stomach is not that low. I will not ever get my x-rays done there again. I left feeling violated

They are to busy to care about patient. One doc retired, then second doc retired.3rd doc told my husband he would go to his vehicle, get his knife and cut off his sore finger. That doc should not be a doc. Always rude. Asks "What are you doing here". We left south coast health because of him and no other doc in there would see us. Can only transfer once. Horrible

Terrible, went in with Covid and gave no medication, also awful nurses. I felt with Dr. Knights crew and they can't even get a treatment history in 4 weeks. And when I called to check on it I was treated like I was a problem. Can't speak for the other Drs and their staff but this experience was a hassle.

Before Covid-19's entry into our lives, this was a good place to see a doctor! Not anymore! A virtual appointment wait time was 1 hour and 20 minutes! Sitting on a phone waiting for your doctor! Today I called at 8:30 in the morning and asked a nurse to call me for medical advice. At 1 pm I emailed. At 4:30 pm I called again and got a hang up. 5 pm and nothing! Tomorrow I will end up in ER for my problem! Stay far away from this place! Only gave it 1 star because it won't allow a zero! So consider this rating zero!

I do not recommend South Coast Medical Group whatsoever. Ninety percent of the time they do not call you back if you have to leave a message for a nurse. My husband called two days ago for a referral to a specialist. He's still waiting for the referral. Totally acceptable. My husband has been ill for months. The complacency of the staff at South Coast is appalling. There is ZERO access to contact them.by email. What an outrage.
