Stay away, stay far away - mason general is an absolute garbage tier walk in clinic masquerading as a hospital. If they don't turn you away they will misdiagnose you and risk your life with incorrect treatment or failing to treat you entirely. They cant even correctly transfer someone to another hospital without messing up the medication paperwork and almost killing the patient.

4/20/22 10:32 AM A senior woman who seemed disabled & very ill was shaking & very much in distress was waiting to go back to see a doctor. The nurse came out a young blonde woman & a man with glasses & curly hair (he was respectful & offered to carry her items) the blonde woman demanded the senior to get up & start moving & the senior said "one moment let me take a drink of my water" the nurse freaked out demanding again that the woman get up & start moving, the senior seemed even more distressed at this point.

Then the nurse kept raising her voice demanding the senior to start moving because they "have a lot going on today" at this point the security officer came over as if the senior is the one causing problems. At this time the senior wobbled her way back to the doctor's room. My take away is that the nurses here can be very arrogant treating there time is more important then the patient being seen. That is very scary especially considering this is a hospital. Will they leave you with half stitches because they "don't have time to finish them"

I'm not a hospital or ER kind of person but. I was in extreme back pain and didn't have a choice. I just want to say thank you to the entire Mason Health team who checked me in, took care of me and sent me on my way knowing what was wrong with me. Special thanks to nurse Paulson and Doc Reynolds. All though you gave me my form in Spanish (ha ha) you ladies meant the world to me and I am thankful.

I went to emergency for appendicitis. I was in pain and when I was seen by the physician I asked what would get me out the soonest. I was convinced by the physician to stay and be treated with antibiotics. I then spent 4 days there, tried to get out a day earlier and was charged over 40k! Insurance paid for most and I disputed this entire process.

The nursing staff was wonderful, BUT 40k for 4 days and then they wanted to schedule me for an appendectomy! If I had been correctly informed rather than scared into a long stay I would have been out next day! I will never go there again! I have now been given the generic response. My bill was 40k for staying 4 days with antibiotics in an IV. I was charged 15k for a room!

I disputed this because I thought it was fraudulent. I was NOT diagnosed with accute appendicitis! I was told by the ER doctor if he operated I could end up with a colostomy bag! I have talked to multiple health care providers who stated the procedure should have been simple and I would have been out next day! They abused me, my trust and my insurance! If someone at Mason is actually reading this, then give me a number to call to discuss this further.

Doctors and care team are great but they have a RIDICULOUS check in system. You can sit there for 20 mins+ sometimes waiting to be checked in. They need to figure something else out.

Went to emergency. I think my foot is broken. I say for over half an hour and was never triaged. A couple was sitting just down from me and they were pretty frustrated. They told me that they'd been there for over and hour and a half and they hadn't even been triaged either. This is not the first terrible experience with this hospital. Once they my husband Lyon

These people are thieves. Their nurses manipulated and coerced me into taking tests that I did not need or understand, and they took advantage of my confusion and made no attempt to ensure I made an informed decision. Shame on me for falling for it. If I was thinking clearly at the time, I would've walked out and never looked back. I would've been better off if I had, and so will you.

Extorted by my Dr. for an annual blood test, I went to visit our new Mason Clinic that our property taxes pay for. When I finally had my number called my care worker, KIM, was very easily distracted. When I asked KIM to "please focus" she refused me the service I require for my 5 medications. In short, always use the emergency room, not the Mason clinic. If you do use Mason Clinic, take a pass on "KIM"!

I have an open lawsuit in progress against this hospital. During this last past year I have had a LOT of medical issues. I started going to see Mason county hospital a few months back when I was having problems breathing and multiple other symptoms. The first time going one of the doctors they did a covid test and sent me home with a sore throat telling me to eat cough drops.

Day after went and saw him for the same problem and the doctor refused to examine me and he sent me home as a diagnosed panic attack. Saw multiple hospitals after this for a yeast infection called thrush that told me to see my regular doctor, but unfortunately wasn't available at the time. 3rd time going back into Mason county hospital requested they check for this fungus infection and black mold poisoning and this hospital sent me to a mental health clinic who on the very next day diagnosed me with the same yeast infection I had requested them to test for!

Also had mold tests done in my home in which they found black mold. Have been dealing with a lot of health issues since but am terrified of returning to this hospital as I deal with swelling and migraines and other symptoms of these 2 diagnosis on a regular basis. This hospital put me through the most horrific time I've ever went through medically and so am proceeding with the lawsuit my lawyer says should be easy to win. do NOT go here! They do not care about your well-being.

This hospital ER is wonderful. Great nursing and tech staff, wonderful, attentive doctors. I went in with INTENSE pain that turned out to be a kidney stone. They treated the pain, scanned for the stone, and helped me through passing it. I have to say, although I live closer to this medical center than Belfair, I have chosen to have my primary care docs in Belfair because I found the medical care by Shelton doctors to be very poor (misdiagnosing a major condition, lack of attention, etc.) But I have been to this hospital ER twice in the past 5 years and they are TERRIFIC.

I would reduce my stars by 1/2 for one reason: there seems to be no triage. It appeared that people were seen in the order in which they arrived. That seems odd for an ER, not that I have a lot of experience, but having a nurse see each person and ascertain need (especially when the ER is full) would be helpful to the patient population. Thank you, Mason General ER.
