Many serious eye diseases occur without any warning signs. For this reason, regular eye examinations are important for preventing disease and maintaining high quality vision throughout your life. The American Academy of Ophthalmology recommends that everyone, even those individuals who don't wear glasses or contact lenses, should have their eyes examined every two years.
A comprehensive dilated eye exam is a painless visit in which the ophthalmologist (Eye MD) or optometrist examines your eyes to look for common vision problems and eye diseases, many of which have no early warning signs. Regular comprehensive eye exams can help you protect your sight and make sure that you are seeing your best.

I'm on the fence. I had an appointment back on Dec 3 2021. To be called the day before and told that the doctor was going to be going on vacation. & that I needed to reschedule. She then tells me that her next available is May 31 2022! Bad enough that I waited months for the other appointment but now I was going to have to be doing it again! May 31 2022 rolls around and I get a call asking me if I could change my time from 2:55 pm.
She gave me two appointment times and then very excitedly said we could cancel. I chose 1:45. I arrived at the office at 1: 36 pm. The waiting room was full. I was not called until after 3 pm! Nobody and I meany nobody at the front desk seemed in any hurry to work. I don't know what was going on in back. As for the doctor. i don't know yet what to think about him.

Up until now, I would have given PNW 5 stars. I still believe Dr. Chiu is an excellent opthalmologist, but the organization as a whole is lacking. I have called innumerable times to try to reach the appointment desk only to either have the called dropped or told to leave a message (and I would hear from someone within 24 hours). I DIDN'T EVER HEAR FROM ANYONE.
The individual I finally reached for an appointment talked to me like she was a drill sargeant, and was unable to schedule an appointment for me (for an emergency situation) without putting me on hold three times to consult with someone else. And the first words out of her mouth was to tell me that they were scheduling appointments in December!

First, I reviewed their website and found a tab for their Optical Shop. It shows they states, "[At].our skilled opticians are. certified to insure that your contact lenses are properly fit to enhance your vision." Etc. So, I called to make an appointment for an eye exam for glasses and contacts. After waiting on hold about 20 minutes, a curt employee told me they do not do exams for contacts and she did not know of anyone. They sell and fit contacts, but their doctors won't do an exam for contacts? Hmmm.

I had the first of my two cataracts removed three day ago. I could not have been more pleased with the care I received there. Dr. Chiu explained everything - no surprises. The nurses and attendants at the surgery were kind and helpful, and the procedure was completed in less than two hours. Dr. Chiu called me at home in the evening of the surgery just to check that everything was all right. My 24-hour followup was quick and we were able to schedule the procedure for the other eye at that time. Great people, and great service.

I have gone here for years and the quality of service has deteriorated at the same time the prices of care skyrocketed. They charged >$200.00 for a standard eye exam, and then told me that they do not accept my United Health Care Vision Policy. Then I was told I could not get my contact RX refilled because they no longer have an in house Ophthalmologist. honestly they probably left just in time. They charged me a $13.00 "Cleaning fee" - Did they not clean the rooms before now. I have gone here for years but this was my last visit. Expensive lesson Learned.

My wife and I both selected Dr. Patel to perform our cataract surgeries last summer. We upgraded our lenses and could not be happier with the results. We no longer need glasses, readers or contact lenses. The surgeries were painless, staff was kind and professional, and Dr. Patel and the anesthesiologists were exemplary. We can't thank them and Pacific Northwest Eye enough.

The medical/optical experience was excellent. The Dr. I saw was highly proficient and clearly knew his profession. The facility is clean, bright, and pleasant. I was annoyed that they are still taking temperatures at check-in. But the biggest negative is the time spent in the waiting area. I was there about 10 minutes before my scheduled time and sat waiting until about 45 minutes after my scheduled time.
This has happened here before. The office needs to have a better feel for appointment timing! It is not fun to sit and wait for a long time, and that negative experience is exacerbated when the reading material in the waiting area has been removed due to COVID concerns.

Pacific Northwest Eye Associates just lost 4 patients today because of their horrible customer service. My most recent appointment resulted in the doctor writing down the wrong prescription, therefore my glasses were not correct. Trying to get the problem corrected Pacific Northwest Eye WILL NOT refund my out of pocket expense and the reason they said they would not refund was a lie to me (the customer/patient).
When I called to get this resolved, no one called me back the next day, and when I called back to question what was going on, the woman in the optical department hung up the phone when I expressed they were giving very poor customer service. I only had my new glasses for a day and a half before I realized something was wrong with prescription. I do not the lenses they used, and I want my former prescription used, which would not have been such a large out of pocket expense.
They will not take responsibility for first of all giving me the wrong prescription. I should not have to pay the price (literally) for their screw up on my glasses. I would not waste my time on this establishment. Just because they have a nice big fancy building, does not mean they are doing nice and/or good things inside to their customers. I have been wearing glasses for over 40 years, and this is by far the worst experience EVER! I would NEVER RECOMMEND Pacific Northwest Eye to anyone. I am beyond disappointed in their ability to care for their customers/patients.
