I should have definitely read the reviews before suggesting my husband go to the er here. We got in pretty quickly didn't have a long wait in the er but my husband came in for stomach pain. We both felt like they didn't take a word he said seriously they gave him nothing for his pain. The doctor barely examed him but said they were gonna do an ultrasound, we waited 2 hours for them to come back and say their computers were down so they couldn't even do the ultrasound.

It would be better for my husband to wait to see a primary doctor, you think if he felt like he could have waited we would have wasted time and money going to the er? So after wasting our time and doing nothing for my husband's pain we wait another 2 hours to be discharged while the nurses are outside doing nothing but talking and laughing. Hopefully we never have to come to this hospital again reading the reviews and experiencing what we did today this is one of those hospitals that only care about money and not their patients.

I don't know what I was thinking coming to Gaston memorial instead of Charlotte or even Steele Creek but I was in A-fib. so they run some test which is fine cardiologists are good. they kept me overnight to watch me and from 10 p.m. until 2 o'clock in the morning they were outside my door and in the room beside me bringing in a new patient I guess but just laughing extremely loud and talking and it was ridiculous.

The first time I asked them if they were having a party the nurse said "oh since we woke you up is there anything I can get for you?" There was no apology just the fact that they knew they woke me up. They said they couldn't close the patients door because there were too many people in the room. The second time I explain to them we were in here because we were sick and hearing them laugh all night was just inexcusable I hope and pray this is my last visit to Gaston Memorial I do appreciate the job that the nurses do but there has to be some education on treating people with respect along with treating their ailments.

I am an employee here. I had to visit the ED a few days ago due to a car crash. The nurses were attentive and warm and informing. Everyone did a wonderful job taking care of me, and ran several tests to ensure I had no internal trauma. Dr. Collins was very nice and informative as well. They worked hard to get me in and out quickly. I appreciate all of my coworkers.

They are doing a bang up job! My only complaint is that the girls in imaging pushed saline and contrast so hard that my hand still hurts from where they put it in the IV. Otherwise, great! Thank you, everyone!

This hospital ER was terrible. I was very sick and in a lot of pain and was left sitting in the ER waiting room for over five hours. I had heard frequent horror stories about this hospital and always defended the hospital. However after experiencing what I did my views on this Hospital are forever impacted and changed. When the PA in the ER saw my labs he should have sent me to an ER waiting bed relatively quickly however I still continue to sit there for 5 1/2 hours before I got up and left.

I proceeded to go to an atrium facility and within three minutes of sitting in the triage bed I was medicated and taken care of because they saw how uncomfortable and how much in pain I was. The provider at atrium said that the PA at Caromont actions bordered on malpractice and at very least incompetence. I'm sure a lot of people do not read these reviews but if you are reading this then please take the extra time and go to another hospital if you care about yourself or the loved ones that you are seeking emergency care for.

It is so bad that I am filing a complaint against the PA and any other place that I can file a complaint against this hospital and all who were involved. I used to be a nurse and so I had a bit of understanding about how people could miss judge a hospital or provider. However what happened to me should never happen to anyone no matter their race creed background medical history and I find it appauling that this happened this day and age. Shame on CaroMont and the ER department!

We waited in ER six hours and had to continue to repeat the reason that my mom was at the ER. My mom was admitted to the hospital where she has been in the Cardiovascular Short Stay for about 48 hours waiting for an MRI that took 18 hours to take place. We have been waiting for the results of the MRI for about 18 hours as well and still waiting. I have had to ask for my mom to receive her breakfast and dinner for the past two days. Additionally, having to request hygiene products.

There has to better customer service when it comes to emergencies and how to respond in a timely manner to patients and their families. It's exhausting when the short stay room is not equipped for accommodating patient's families and their stay as well. Hats off to Delisa Melton for apologizing for the wait, doctor's responses, cafeteria delays, and understanding the shortfalls of the medical center.

I would give 0 stars if I could. Worst hospital ever. I went on 4-19-2022. I passed out in there parking lot and hit my head. My husband and a very nice stranger helped get me up. I went in and told them what happened and the pain I was having. They took blood and wheeled me in the waiting room to never check on me again. I sat there in horrible pain for 3 hours. I eventually left. The ladies at the front was cutting it up laughing and stuff while trying to check people in. Very unprofessional hospital.

I had my first kid delivered here and I had the best experience from the doctor to the nurses and the food. The room was clean and big. The put the baby with me and where super nice to my husband that stayed with me the whole time. The moment we got to the hospital the stuff was nice and the took care of us right away. I had to have a c section that was not planned and the stuff was understanding because i was nervous. The second night i was being paranoid about the baby and the nurses understood without judging

If I could give zero stars, I would! My mother who is 83 years old and has dementia, went to the ER on January 21, 2022 to have some test for chest pain and cough. When they were finished; they didn't call the assisted living home where she lives to let them know she was finished with her test, so they could arrange to pick her up. Instead, the doctor released her without a signature to release her.

They put her in a TAXI, and she had no shoes on, and it was 30 degrees outside. The assisted living home contacted me to let me know what had happened. They called the hospital and complained. However, I have tried multiple time to contact the doctor that was on duty that day. I am told that he is not in. I also tried to contact the Patient Care to file a complaint.

Their phone line says to hold for the next available assistant, then rolls over to voicemail. I guess they are all so busy with complaints or obviously don't care about their patients. I am very upset with how they treated my mother. That was very careless for them to have put her in a TAXI. I am happy that she made it back to where she lives without incident.

Do everything you can to keep your family out of this hospital. Everything you read that you thought was a conspiracy.all the stories you read about the protocols and the $$$$ agenda for covid.it's all true. Make the virtual appointments with Frontline Doctors and don't put yourself or your loved one through this hell.

I was seen today for some abdominal pain and I have to say I did love my nurses and Dr. O'Connor. He was very thorough with telling me how he would treat with problem, what testing and why and telling me what my tests said. I did sit there for a few hours in a lot of pain which prompted me to ask to leave before all testing was done but I don't necessarily blame the hospital for that or the staff. Overall I would rate this establishment a 4/5

Briggs, Kerry for starters is the most disrespectful and worst caregiver I've ever encountered. Coming from a medical field myself this is very disturbing. When trying to speak to him about my husband's lung issues and concerns about a bacterial infection he rudely interrupted me on multiple occasions let alone they one do virtual appointments. He basically said if we wanted to be seen we can go somewhere else. Save yourself the $500 and just go to the hospital as they clearly cannot properly exaime nor aid you in anyway.

Was in ER 5 hours +. W I'll probably go to another hospital next time. My issue wasn't addressed. I still feel so weak morning after. Left with high BP. Worst place for an emergency.

Worst ER ever. Filled with patients that are mostly just sick with covid related symptoms (non-severe) while people are in intense pain having to 6+ hours to get back in a room. The mass covid scare has really screwed up the hospital for one's that really need it and the hospitals allowing it to happen are part of the problem.

Two star review is GRACIOUS for the "care" my mother received in the ER. The two stars include extra grace from the Covid pressure on hospitals right now. She was there for days, and had one, maybe two, good nurses. She's 64 years old, and her needs were constantly brushed off, even simple requests. Her nurse call button fell off of her bed, and she asked SIX separate times if the nurse could get in for her (she was immobile, so she could not get it herself), and she was ignored every time, so she ended up wetting herself and her bed 3+ times because no one was checking on her, and she didn't have her button.

On top of that, the ER nurses were generally rude, and when my sister and I tried to call multiple times to get updates, they just bounced us back and forth between people. Only one time did someone actually help us. I may be being over the top because it's my mother, but NO ONE should be ignored that many times!

My wait was extremely long for as much pain as I was in but I understand the concept of triage. Despite the long wait on a Wednesday afternoon I'd still recommend them. The nurses, doctor, CT scan tech and patient transport people were all very compassionate and friendly. They made me with my kidney stones not feel quite so anxious. Everything was explained clearly to me and my husband. We never felt rushed through any part of the process. My nurse was Sarah, she was so great.

Came to ER because of my right foot being in pain and swollen. Dr Kevin Michael O'Connor was very rude and uncaring. He told me that I need to deal with the pain instead of being nauseated. He stated he had physical therapy one time and ended up having surgery but never took one pain pill because it makes him nauseated. My blood pressure was very high but I couldn't get a Aspirin or ibuprofen.

He pressed and twist my foot and said someone will be in here to put a ace bandage on it. I was never given anything but more pain from the doctor. They changed my blood pressure reading on my discharge papers and sent me home with nothing. Came in pain and left in more pain. The doctor as well as the nurses never wash their hands when entering or leaving but covid 19 is out here.
