***ER only review****. I came by ambulance so I can not comment about ER admitting staff. But in the back I was amazed how caring they all are. Even with all the craziness they still were nice and caring. Everyone I encountered was nice so I don't understand all the bad reviews. The area has grown so the hospital is maxed out. I waited I think 4 hrs to be seen ( kept hearing really busy day) which was hard I was in 10+ pain, another 1 to 2 hrs to get pain meds.
That would be the only negative. But I understand they are doing the best they can with an ER that is not growing with the valley. Sad I received better care in the ER then my walk-in clinic appt on Mon and my GI Specialist appt on Wed. Am I better not yet but the ER Doc gave me RXs and a game plan that the other 2 MDs didn't. My pain level was off the charts, I'm better but not out of the woods. ( I was safe to leave and I don't feel safe in the hospital inpatient from past experience) This has been sheer hell but I felt I was treated with care, they were not rushed, they knew their stuff, which is important when you give up all control in an ER.
You have to trust they will do it right. My first RN going to be great she younger but I as impressed my 2nd when they moved me to a bed was seasoned. I have a lot of drug allergies it get scary when all this stuff is put into you but he explained and we had an interaction so I felt safe. He was not Annoyed that I was asking questions that's a true professional. Now, the man screaming for a mysterious rose person, trying to get out of his gurney, the need to go pee constantly even though they took them into a room and he was allowed to go to the bathroom with their help, moving his heart monitor box, he wanted his socks on he wanted his socks off, guy was a handful. ERs are noisy but he was over the top and made it hard to try and ride the pain out.
With that said the blonde RN that had him had the patience of a Saint. I couldn't of done it, she never lost her cool, was checking on him, he was I have to think mentally out of it. I would of sent him to the Psych ward and/or tight his arms down. But your staff handle him with care and safety. Sad that these professionals are already overworked and then have to deal with wing nuts too.
I will also say this, I believe it was 2019 I came through the ER and was admitted for 5 days and my care was better by the nurses in the ER. The hospitalist we're great. I am glad I wasn't admitted because I didn't feel safe last time and had bad things happen to me but that not the point right now. The point, I feel better cared for by the ER Staff ( I can not comment on waiting or the ER intake as I didn't not see them both times) then when I was on the floor of the hospital. That's sad and says a lot.
People are upset about the wait time call the hospital owners to build another hospital. Don't take it out on the staff they are go go go no one is sitting around eating bon bons. The wait times are long, yup, because SCV is allowing too much growth w/o requiring another hospital. That's the issue not that the ER Staff isn't good enough, nice enough, caring enough.

Been in waiting room for over 5 hours with my elder parent, 92. There's lots of people outside. The lady next to me waited for over 10 hours to get called. All the fancy billboards around Santa Clarita advertising how great this hospital is a lie. Time to drive to Holly Cross. I forgot the best part. My mother bp is super high I I asked them to please check it.
I just talked to nurses and asked if they can give her something. I nicely explained her vitals are stroke prone and they should know this. They huddled and said sorry. J asked if maybe a family member should bring her meds from home before she passes out. They said sure. I've heard hospitals in Tijaunna make there families do this. So looks like we'll be in waiting room for 10 hours so meds from home and our bp machine we use at home are on the way. Sooooo sad.

I went to the ER for a second degree burn injury. The staff was friendly and efficient. The PA who treated me was knowledgeable and bandaged by burn. The whole thing turned sour when I got the bill. For 20 minutes with a PA and a small bandage, the total for the visit was over $4k! There must be some mistake. I had no tests done, no lab work or x-rays. Unbelievable!

I don't like hospitals but my health is number one so when I have to go, I go late at night when it's not too busy but this time in particular I decided to go after dinner. It was in the evening hour and it sure was crowded. Lucky for me I was seen pretty quickly and I was taken care of by a good doctor. He assisted one my unexplained issue that though they could not figure out the problem, they gave proper care by providing me with treatment to accommodate my issue and also relieved my pain by a minor procedure.
They prescribed me the right meds to my local pharmacy and by morning time I had my meds which was antibiotics. Thanks Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital. Thank you Doctor Christopher Belfour for your help, I finished my meds and now I'm taking a different one that is similar by my primary physician. I am not at 100 yet but I am a lot better than I was when I came in to the ER.
It's this lousy stubborn cough that is hard to get rid of and also my unexplained issue which I happened to call it a "bug bite" did not heal and it looks very nasty. Idk why that happen to my leg but it is now like a hole, there was some loss of tissue after the scab fell off yesterday. Anyway, I bought some antibiotic ointment and will soon have to make an appointment with my primary doctor for it. Thank you again Doctor Christopher Belfour for your help, you were assertive, attentive and professional.

I just took my son there, this hospital had sick people everywhere in the inside which I was told patients showing signs of covid is put in tents. Not the case. It was dirty, people waiting outside scared to go in. Throw up all over the ground by entrance. I just couldn't risk my son getting covid. He was there because something was scratching his eye. Wait time- one person had been sitting there for 2 hours.

My best friend's husband went in for a post surgical infection that developed after having an ingrown nail removed. They supposedly cleaned the infection out. Told him to keep it clean. The next day he could hardly move-the leg was swollen like a tree trunk. Back to the ER, admitted for sepsis due to instruments that weren't properly sterilized and died that night.
The family paid for an independent autopsy because they didn't trust the doctors or the hospital to not alter the medical file/s. Good thing they did, HENRY MAYO HOSPITAL KILLED my friends husband! I wouldn't allow the devil himself to go there. It's the shittiest of the shittiest hospitals in the country! This is the nicest thing I can say about them.

Every single time she has been admitted at HM the nurses and doctors have been very helpful and showed concern to make sure they Comunicate and keep me up to date regarding my mother's medical health. The place was w Always kept clean and staff are very welcoming.

Emergency Room The doctor or nurse sent my prescription to Walmart instead of Walgreens and when I called to ask for help the nurse (John, he said) refused to help me. He told me once they send the medication in they can't change it, which I know to be completely false. When I asked him how long he'd been working there he got very offensive and emotional and told me I was being verbally abusive.
I asked him why he thinks that & he hung up on me. After that I tried calling back several times to get through and each time I called he hung up on me. I was just trying to get my meds, & the nurse you hired to help people did everything BUT help, he had zero professionalism & zero empathy. I didn't end up getting my meds & no one helped me. I called again later and he said his name was JOSH this time.
Completely & inconceivably deplorable ER staff. Actually, no, everyone else was kind and helpful, besides the pharmacy mistake, but this JOSH or JOHN in the emergency room department was absolutely horrid & shouldn't be there. I was there 3/4/22 and called around 9 pm.

Overall your staff members are capable of doing thier job. Most of them are actually good at the work. However their is a handful of your younger staff members that just do not belong in this business. They are here only to pass time and meet a mate. Unfortunately I got assigned a room next to the nursing station and every night I had to listen to these young adults joking around, singing songs, and just clowning around.
You have a handful of nurses that are professional at the job but the overall experience is clouded by your staff that is here to play. This caused me not to be able to get a good nights sleep. During this pandemic I would think that your staff would be wiping everything down after each use. I was very disturbed that this was not taking place. As a matter in fact in the five days I spent here I never saw anyone mop down the floors. The administration need to make surprise visits at night to see what is happening at thier hospital. Also, I have never been told by a RN about leaving a tip before.

Every time I have had to go to this hospital it has been a nightmare. We were brought in to the ER by ambulance for my 10 month old who was having breathing difficulties. He has a few abnormalities that cause choking episodes that lead him aspirating. Well. they decided to place our child in a room with another poor women who would scream for help who was severely sick with 105 fever! We are so careful to keep him well due to his issues it was just negligent and reckless. Why an infant is placed in a shared room I will never understand.

It's been a long time but I am still traumatized. I was the passenger in a car that was in a collision and was abused here by an X-ray tech and the emergency room because they thought I was the driver. Someone that came out of their house after they heard the 1 car wreck said they saw me climbing out the drivers window the only one that was big enough after the wreck.
They didn't even tell me why they were being so mean. Once it was explained that they thought I was the driver they finally saw the seat belt bruise on my right shoulder after it was pointed out and the sheriff left without me. Few that were there at the time are probably still working but I still won't go there.

Worst hospital ever! Please if you have any respect for your health or wellbeing do not visit this hospital. Staff is rude and unprofessional. Special shout out to Nurse Tamika from the ER. She needs to be fired immediately. Complete disregard to how patients feel. Too busy texting on her phone. Ignoring patients and just all around horrible employee. Not sure what fly by night online school she got her nursing degree but she stick retail

On February 6th 2022 I went to visit my mother. The security couldn't find her in the system and when he finally found her room and sent me there it was the wrong room it took them 30 minutes to get me to her right room. Then they moved her room again during dinner to a room with no phone and no TV then they brought her an iPad that wasn't charged and she had no ability to use.
The charge nurse claimed they didn't have anyone qualified to care for her except for one nurse. This a horrible experience and I currently working to have my mother transferred to a better hospital.

This hospital doesn't seem to get too many positive reviews, but I can only speak to my personal experience. I was admitted to the ER on Monday, Jan 3 with what I found out later was a potential life threatening situation. I spent 14 hours in the hallway of the ER before I got a room, then spent another 3 days getting stabilized for release. Yes, it was a long wait. Yes, I was on a gurney in the hallway. Am I upset? Nope, they only have so much room and in an ER the priorities always change as people come in.
They had stabilized me, so I got to wait. I also got to watch the whole operation, and these people do not stop for one minute. The team in ER seems to be a dedicated, hard-working group of professionals. Once transferred to a ward room, the care was exceptional. I found the staff very caring and professional. Overhearing conversations, they were woefully understaffed, but I never felt ignored or that my care was lacking.
During my stay, I had several visits from staff doctors, who clearly explained what had happened, what was being done to treat the condition, and what I was to do afterwards. So, in my personal experience, my visit was a success story. Thanks to all at Henry Mayo who took care of me.

I came to the emergency room with blood pressure issues and heart rate issues. The 2 women said go wait on line there's a lot of people ahead of you. You'll lose your place in line and meanwhile I can have a heart attack. The worst hospital I've ever witnessed very bad. My suggestion is go to a different hospital if you need one. Can't believe it, they turned me away total disregard when someone tells you that they are having heart issues they supposed to take you right away. Sorry Mr Henry, you'll never see me in your hospital again. Thanks, but no thanks!

This is my second stay in Henry Mayo and this is the second time they have threatened to turn me into collections for a hospital stay I am still having. They just threatened to turn me into collections unless I paid $3,000 just in case my out of pocket deductible had not been met. Janelle threatened my wife and now refuses to return my call or come to my room.
This hospital is a train wreck, they must be hurting for money so bad that they have to force collections on patients while they are still in the hospital. I guess that proves the quality of care they provide when they cannot even afford to keep the doors open without threatening patients.

As a nurse myself I am critical of others who are providing my healthcare needs. I came into the ER in a lot of pain. I was triaged with a pain scale of 9. Triage nurse escorted me to the waiting room told me the ER is very busy I would need to wait until a bed became available. I sat in a wheelchair and waited 5 hours, I kept asking when will I be seen all I was told soon.
After six hours of excruciating pain I was placed in a room and waited another additional 45 minutes before I saw the ER physician. I find it unacceptable to have a patient sit in pain for so many hours. There is a rule the ER must evaluate a patient that is in pain within 2 hours of arrival and medicate for the pain. I find it inhumane to have a patient sit for so many hours in pain. Your wait times to see a ER provider is ridiculous.

VERY UNHAPPY! In mid-July after a regular mammogram at Sheila R. Veloz Breast Center, I received notification that "additional imaging studies" were "required for a complete evaluation". Within a week, I returned to Sheila Veloz for the additional imaging study which was 20 seconds of a hand-held ultrasound over the area of concern, then a doctor came into the room and told me I was all clear and that she just wanted to be sure it wasn't serious.
A month later I got billed $559.37 for "radiology services" from Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital. After calls to my insurance company and HM, I learned I have to pay in full because I still have a large deductible that hasn't been met, AND HM refuses to reduce the charge. HM is an in-network provider for me. I find their lack of flexibility disheartening and appalling.
They are price-gouging. I am also very upset and angered that they did not disclose the potential cost of such additional imaging PRIOR to my appointment, which would have been the prudent and thoughful thing to do. I could have shopped around for a more reasonable cost from another facility. I am stuck paying a bill that is highly inflated. I also had to pay a separate bill to Tower Imaging for $48 for "radiology services" for the same procedure - a much more reasonable charge. I will be looking for another facility for my mammograms, so Sheila R. Veloz is being impacted by this situation since they are associated with the hospital.

I had my first baby in May and everyone from the delivery department was amazing! Very kind, supportive, very well guided through the hole birth process and my baby was in good hands. With covid going around I was only allowed one person to stay overnight and one visitor at a time. The only con was they don't provide bar soap or shampoo for when you shower. Not a problem for me because my hubby brought me some, so I still give them 5 stars.

Do NOT have a c-section here! Horrible Experience! This review is about the maternity department pre-operative and surgical team for c sections. When I checked in I was in labor and having intense contractions. I asked for pain medicine but was only offered IV Tylenol. It was t until I said I'm leaving to deliver my baby at another hospital to deliver my baby, that was finally offered something stronger for my intense level contractions while in labor.
I eventually had a c section, and my husband was told by the anesthesiologist he was not allowed to watch. He was in the OR but was not allowed to watch his son being born?!? That is something taken away from us that he will never get back. It was very disappointing. I wish I never delivered here. Do NOT deliver here if you think you might need a c-section.
Such a horrible experience. The post operative team was great and nurses were great in the post operative section of the maternity department. But this did not make up for the pre operative team or the rude anesthesiologist.
