It is a great honor to become the President of the California Society of Plastic Surgeons. For those of you who missed it, the recent meeting at Torrey Pines was awesome. Great talks including ASPS president Peter Rubin and ASAPS president Jennifer Waldman, Brody Lecture by Pat McGuire, a ton of great panels and talks. To say nothing of finally seeing friends in person, golf, exhibits, a great closing dinner. Our outgoing president Susan Kaweski has done an amazing job on all fronts and should be congratulated!

The CSPS Supported candidate for Assembly District 79 in san Diego County won her election. Dr. Akilah Weber becomes the second physician in the State Assembly and the third physician in the state Legislature. Register on-line at the ASPS Website. The Nurse Practitioners Advisory Committee held their first meeting to decide on the parameters for Nurse Practitioners to work autonomously without physician oversight.
