Glaucoma is the leading cause of blindness in the United States. It is a disease of the optic nerve, the part of the eye responsible for carrying the images we see to the brain. The optic nerve is made up of huge numbers of nerve fibers. Glaucoma causes increased pressure within the eye, resulting in damage to these nerve fibers.

Thank you to the operator & Alfonso from optical who helped me on the phone. I had received great services and care in person, but retrieving information after being scattered by Laura was difficult. Reward your employees & service providers that care, please, it seems that there has been some disconnect from the extended community that your operators need to serve in the wake of all the disasters that hit the area. If you don't receive what you need the first time you will likely be sent, blind, to voice-mail purgatory unless you're lucky. LC strong.

This place is a joke! My uncle had a major reaction to an eye light test they performed to the point of a grown man crying and instead of checking his vitals or anything wanted to send him home! He is a 2 time stroke patient and the way they were so ready to get him out without making sure he was physically stable is beyond me!

My experience was actually pretty decent as far as the exam and what not. Until I received a bill for 45 dollars while I had Medicaid. I called into billing and they wanted to give me an attitude on the phone. I told them I wasn't comfortable being given a surprise bill while I was on Medicaid and it should have been discussed with me or I would have not done the service.
They did end up taking the 45 dollars off but it just feels very sneaky. The whole time on the phone I was being told we can't give you glasses or check your eyes unless you have a refraction and told me it was medically necessary. I was just diagnosed with lupus and other issues and I can't work currently 45 dollars is a lot to me right now. I called my insurance they said they did cover it and the eye clinic should have contacted them.
They said it was a provider error at the eye clinic. My insurance covers medically necessary eye treatments verified by my insurance. So all in all the billing is very non transparent and honestly reminds me of how an emergency room would bill.

My sons prescription expired and he lost his glasses. Before we left the eye clinic, she asked what type of insurance my son had. I explained that they didn't take medicaid, that's what they told me over the phone. She said that they absolutely did. She got my son right in and we had to get a new eye exam, and at no cost. She was very courteous and helpful, I'll never forget her kindness.
We had his exam and ordered new glasses and were also given an extra copy of his eye prescription. Thank you to the woman who went out of her way to help us, I recommend the eye clinic for everyone.

All of the staff were very nice & polite. The office is beautiful & comfortable. It was a short wait. I like that Dr. Murray was calm & his assistants were most friendly. The lady that assisted with getting frames was very helpfull. For my first visit it was most pleasant. I look forward to my next appointment for the girls at the front desk are so sweet.
