Cookeville's public hospital began as a 15-bed private clinic built by a local surgeon just off the town square in 1921. Bought by the city of Cookeville, Tennessee, in 1927, City Hospital was supervised by head nurses until 1950, when the city finished building a new hospital, Cookeville General, on the west side of town.
The Department of Pharmacy employs 65 clinical and support staff, including 19 pharmacists who provide comprehensive pharmaceutical services. Cookeville Regional Medical Center utilizes an electronic medication administration record, bar code medication administration, pharmacy automation including robotics and storage and retrieval systems, and clinical decision support software to provide optimal, safe and efficient pharmaceutical care.

Walked out after waiting over 6 hours for treatment regarding a coronary event. Others had been waiting more than 12 hours. Figure if I'm going to die waiting to be treated I'd be more comfortable at home. I think they should reacquaint themselves with the definition of Emergency.

Very nice staff. I didn't feel like it was a busy night at all. Brought my son in and blood work was done for about 2 hours before Dr even came in then we waited and waited for just a antibiotic shot. All was well just very slow service. Probably short staffed but even then I felt it was too slow.

I had to go to the ER for the first time in my life recently, and everyone was great. I didn't even sit down in the lobby, let alone finish signing the needed papers to sign in, before they brought me back to a room and had an IV started and blood work going for my emergency. Very pleased with the level of care I received and my nurse Karen was great!

Surgery is top notch! Everyone is caring, kind, skilled, and very professional. Very modern equipment, with skilled surgeons that deliver excellent care, and nurses and staff that keep things going efficiently. Very impressed with anesthesia department in particular. Oh, and one of the cleanest hospitals I've ever been in. For such a large system it's very well managed.

Had open heart surgery October 2021, pain level in recovery was 9 out of 10, took 3 hours to get under control. Male nurses in Cardiac ICU are brutal, one male nurse at the nurses station even made fun of how slow I was walking two days after surgery. I was lucky to even be alive at that point. My wife wanted to complain, but she was afraid they would put something in my IV.

Food is incredibly bad, my wife brought food in for me. This is a hospital that makes mistakes, and without a board of directors no one is held accountable. Go to Nashville, your life may depend on it.

Went to ER for cardiac chest pains, pressure and breathing issues. Waited 4 hours before I left due to lack of care. Went the next afternoon as i my symptoms were worsening. Ended up waiting 6 hours before I finally told the nurse they better take this seriously. They took me to triage and not only did they not address the cause of the pain but they sent me home with no meds and only educational paperwork about chest pain.

I deal with VA hospitals constantly which are terrible but they are folkways better than the care I received two days in a row. Cookeville Regional needs a massive overhaul of their policies and procedures!

I've already wrote this review once when it was fresher in my memory but I guess someone took it down so some of the details are missing, but I remember the horrible experience for the most part. When I was pregnant with my daughter, I ended up coming here due to my body going into premature labor. I had experienced this previously with my son so I knew what was happening.

I came in, they took me back into the maternity ward and hooked me up to the necessary equipment. I told them I was in active labor and that it had happened before with the last pregnancy. The nurse ignored me and acted like I didn't know what I was talking about. They kept me monitored but ignored everything I was saying. So several hours later, I asked if I could leave, and that's when they finally admitted that I was indeed in preterm labor.

Then as soon as my boyfriend left to take his brother to work the nurse came in and said she was going to give me a shot that would stop the labor process and 30 minutes later I could be discharged. I came in at 11pm that night and didn't get to leave until 7am the next morning because they refused to believe me. 3 hours of that time was me waiting for my ride because they wouldn't treat me sooner.

It's not like I was begging for pain medicine I was in premature labor! I know they can't listen to everyone that comes in there, but that doesn't mean they should ignore everyone. My daughter was born at Livingston a month later, and if I have any more children they will be born there as well.

I want to thank everyone who has helped in the care of my elderly grandmother. I know you all are over work and tired. Your dedication to patient care does not go unrecognized by me. I do want to share that during my grandmother's two day emergency department stay, until the actual hospital had a room available. Someone special really touched my heart and I fell the need to give her credit.

My grandmother is bedridden and is currently suffering from sever disorientation. With that being said she has to have a sitter with her at all times. Connie (CRMC Float) went above and beyond for my grandmother even gave her a bath in the ER. That typically does not happen. Connie's compassion for my grandmother, was shocking. She is the real MVP!
