Dr. Timothy E. O'Boyle is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract surgery, LASIK, and the treatment of diabetic eye disease. A graduate of Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. O'Boyle completed his internship at the Baylor Affiliated Hospitals, and his residency in Ophthalmology at the Louisiana State University Eye Center.

My ophthalmologist had lost his optician so I went to Professional Eye Associates in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia to get my prescription filled. After spending over $1000 for lightweight glasses with a progressive lens, my glasses were wrong when they came back. I was told to go back to my doctor to see if the prescription was correct. After waiting weeks for an appointment my eyes were rechecked and the prescription was correct.
Professional Eye Associates had apparently measured wrong and the glasses could not be corrected so they have to be remade. The next morning I contacted Professional Eye Associates and asked if the order could just be canceled and let me get a refund. I was told no refunds are ever given. They will make the glasses over and over and over, if needed, but never give a refund.
When an optician incorrectly measures your eyes for glasses and the glasses come back wrong, your trust factor has vanished. The cost of glasses is tremendously high there and I should have looked around more at other places, but not everyone carries the lightweight frames I wanted. I would not recommend to other people that they go to Professional Eye Associates. Find a reputable optical department that will give refunds if glasses are made incorrectly

Excellent service in every way but one: staff identification. My own training in delivery of health services has always emphasized the importance of professional staff identifying themselves clearly to patients and family. The primary way, of course is by wearing a name badge that is easy to read. The second and just as important way is by introducing themselves and their role immediately upon meeting with the patient.
I saw a lack of both of these during my visits recently; often no name badge and frequently no introduction. Truthfully, I have noticed that it seems to be a trend in other health service practices I have visited in the past couple years. I find that surprising and confusing. On the other hand, each of the staff who met with me during my several visits this year told me clearly what they were going to do and described the processes. I find that very important and congratulate the Practice.

Wonderful practice and Dr. Kim is an outstanding doctor. Listens to your concerns, knowledgeable, fully explains everything and is extremely personal and very funny. However, when it comes to your eye health he is very professional. He is everything you want as a doctor especially when it comes to your eyes. I have never had a issue with the front desk until the other day when I was leaving to pay my co-pays and make my next appointment.
The woman at that window was rude and very short. I asked her for my paper prescription to bring to a different eyewear place and she didn't explain where in the office I get it from. So I assumed she gave it to me along with my receipt. When I headed home (1 1/2 hours away from the office) I had to turn around because they failed giving me my prescription.
Everyone in this office is truly kind and absolutely wonderful but the woman I dealt with was rude and seemed overwhelmed with the task she was hired for. All in all I highly recommend this practice and all the doctors in this group, they are top notch.

Excellent work by the staff there the day of my appointment, especially because their staff was short handed. The Dr.'s assessment of my condition, recommended treatment and prognosis was spot on. Couldn't have been better from my perspective. My daughter and wife also have had really good experiences as well.

I have no problem walking into the Professional Eye center in Dalton with a smile on my face. The place is clean, equipment is up to date and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I had both of my Lenses replaced there in June and July of 2021. The first surgery I was nervous. The second surgery I walked in smiling and saying "I'm ready lets get to it." Life is short already and going blind makes it go much quicker. DON'T WAIT life WILL pass you by and you won't even see it pass.

All the staff were very nice and well informed. Dr. Kim was not what I expected, but he has an excellent bedside manor! I felt confident I had seen the best specialist, in our area, to address my corneal disease. I rated at a four, only because wait time was over two hours. Otherwise a positive experience.

My visit was great. The staff was friendly and prompt. I had a lot of pain in one eye and they worked through that in order to finish my eye exam. Even with the abnormal condition with that eye the doctor and staff got me out within a reasonable time. They were very informative of what I need to do and the next steps with my condition. I would recommend this group to everyone
