Poulsbo Eyecare Center

I've gone to the Poulsbo Eyecare Center for 2 eye exams, in 2020 and 2021. Neither was a positive experience in terms of friendliness and thoroughness. During both visits, the front desk staff acted as if I was bothering them while checking in. But more importantly, the exams felt incomplete, especially compared to my previous exams at Virginia Mason in Seattle.

I have a family history of glaucoma, so take these exams very seriously. During both exams, the doctor (female) seemed rushed to get me in and out and was not the least bit friendly. During my 2021 exam, the she didn't even bother to dilate my eyes! Overall, this was so disappointing since the clinic is close to my home, but I will not be going back.

Dr. Hedahl and his team earned our trust when the first exams we ever had identified issues no other had (like an occlusion in my right eye). We've been faithful patients ever since.

Dr Hedahl and his staff were all very friendly, helpful, and professional. They walked me through all the choices I had for my particular situation, explaining each procedure they were doing, what they were looking for, and what they found. They spoke in plain language without condescension. I have recommended them to two friends already and would recommend them to everyone.

Fifty years of purchasing eye glasses, and this business managed to be the first to produce a defective pair of glasses. I mistakenly was expecting that they would correct error/problem with eyewear, but found they are unable or unwilling to do so. This was a very expensive and time consuming lesson for me! I would not recommend this business.

The clinic is clean and the technology is up to date in many aspects. I found the doctor to be super nice and informative but the staff to be lacking at the front desk and more involved their personal drama. Lastly I asked if they took the insurance that my cousins I care for have and they looked at me like I crawled out of the gutter. So I am not sure I will go back but I definitely will not not purchase glasses from them. It felt discriminatory

Love Dr. Ray Hedahl. He know what's going on with my eyes n what I need. Now I can see n be happy.

I was so impressed by Dr. Tonder professionalism and dedication to detail and we had so much in common, she made it a pleasure having a doctor's appointment. Looking forward to my next visit.

They lied to me about how much it would be to go in here. They said it would be fully covered under my insurance, then when I got there they billed me $48 dollars and now I got a bill for $81 dollars. I would give this place negative stars if I could. Thank you for lying to a military family who does not have the money for your appointments and then give me a prescription I still can't see with. Extremely unhappy with this place.

Dr. Tonder is very good. She and the entire are very polite and knowledgeable.

I have been going to Poulsbo Eyecare and Doctor Hedahl for over 15 years. I have very complicated sight issues and Doctor Hedahl has been able to provide me with great care and vision correction through contacts, glasses, and specialized glasses for specific functions. He is very thorough and provides great care.
