This place is terrible. Brought my mom in to the emergency room with Covid pneumonia. After registering they stuck us in a room and shut the door. Almost four hours later we are still in the same room, not hooked up to any monitoring equipment. We've seen one mean nasty nurse who only asked for a name and birthdate and left. No questions. No evaluation. Nothing.
Finally used the call button because my mom had to use the restroom. Nasty nurse returned. When I made a remark about how long we've been here she ripped my head off. Was literally screaming at me and told us we could leave

June 6, 2022 at about 10:00pm, my mom in law went into Salem Hospital with multiple horrible symptoms. She has been feeling bad for several days. On June 7, 2022 at about 11:00 AM Salem Hospital released her. My sis in law immediately took mom to St. Elizabeth's in Boardman where they not only admitted mom but now mom might have to go to Cleveland because her health is so severe currently.

Went here yesterday at 11am to the ER waited a couple hours til the tops of my legs hurt so bad I wanted to scream. My husband went up to the desk and politely asked if they had some lay back type chair and the lady was extremely rude and told him no they are reserved for special issues, so he then asked if I could go lay in the car because I truthfully couldn't sit in that chair any longer, Im not sure what the answer was but my husband was so upset he carried me out of the Er and took me to a different hospital.
I understand places are under staffed and stressed out but when you have someone coming to you in tremendous pain and you are just rude in return there is no excuse for that. I was born at this hospital so it's completely heart breaking that they have gone so far down hill. Find employees that care about the patients or you guys will end up having another name and owner again.

I was admitted into the ER on the 23rd of November after fighting covid at home since the 9th. My Oxygen levels which I watched daily dropped low enough to require me to visit the Emergency Room. I was promptly seen, vitals addressed and had to do the waiting room wait. I was placed on oxygen and seated in the covid area. I expected to wait a while.
I was taken into the ER and given a bed and immediately taken care of. I had nurses addressing issues, given IV's, chest exray, EKG, CT Scan and breathing treatment. I was seen by several Dr' s and immediately felt reassured of my condition. I was told my condition was Covid with pnemonina, I later developed blot clotting in my lung. No beds were available and I was given a large bed to make my ER stay over night more comfortable.
I was being admitted. I was placed on tower 3 where my care from every staff member was kind, caring, compassionate and just an over whelming relief. The food was amazing and my stay and recovery where above and beyond my expectations. Thank you to Salem hospital as I sit at home to finish my recovery!

Hands down the worst er team around. 5 plus hours to see a doctor I understand they have to get to the more important people first. If your that busy you should have more than one doctor working the er. I could have went to boardman hospital been there for an hour and drove home and still would have saved 3 hours. You would think for the taxe money and the rate of an er visit they would have the money for more than one doctor.

Had a terrible week requiring 2 ER visits and 2 nights/3 days at Salem Regional Medical Center due to heart condition. Many thanks to ER doctors, ER nurses, staff, nurses and personnel on 3rd floor. Had a wonderful private room. Everyone from cleaning personnel to transportation aids were extremely friendly. Highly recommend this hospital.

Do not send your loved ones here if they have mental illnesses, and are in a crisis. I don't think this hospital trains their staff on psych care. If they do, the staff is not implementing their training. From guards who talk loudly about how "if someone's suicidal they'd just do it. Not be sitting here" to nurses who talk about "Jesus will punish you with eternal suffering if you end your life successfully." These are things that can harm someone's recovery tremendously.
They are in a vulnerable place in their life. They don't need your judgement. They need your help. Drive the extra time to Alliance Hospital. They treat you with the respect and dignity that you deserve.

Well, we're currently just under 8 hours into our visit, and haven't spoken to a doctor yet. The waiting room has been empty for hours, and none of the nurses seem remotely concerned with us or how long we've been waiting. The security guard said that if we didn't want to sit around and wait all night, we should have gone to the hospital in Alliance instead.
I totally understand prioritizing patients based on the severity and urgency of their condition, but how can they expect any patient who enters an EMERGENCY Department to wait for 8 hours? This place is a joke. Go anywhere else!

My wife was in the hospital in June 2020. She received excellent care from the nurses, that is why I am giving a rating of three stars. The nurses taking care of her were great. I took off two stars because of the way I was treated at checkout. I don't think I have felt more disrespected or underestimated. If I had to be in that situation again, I will make sure that when I answer their questions, that they write it down correctly. This has caused me a lot of problems and was totally unnecessary.
