5/17/2020 Against My better judgment I decided to come to this er because it was closer to me. Let's start off with there was no parking in the front of the building when asked security where else could I park I was told the lot was around the corner or I can park up the block I informed him that those locations aren't going to work for me because when I stand I get short of breath and feel like I'm going to pass out so the older security told me I can park at the very end and he made sure I made it inside.

He goes in and tell the woman I'm experiencing shortness off breath when I'm on my feet so I get to the window and the woman ask me why am I there I tell her I'm at my 5th day of covid but for the last 2 days when I stand up to do stuff I get shortness of breath and feel like ima pass out, so this woman has me standing there while she typing so I said well can I sit down while you so that because I'm starting to get dizzy she doesn't respond but ask for my ID and insurance then give me papers to fill out I took the clipboard and sat down.

By the time I finished they were calling me in the back. The male nurse calls me in the back and put me in a room nothing in the room but a chair and it feel like 100 degrees in the room he finally comes back in the room I'm explaining everything to him along with telling him my preexisting problems and meds because he never asked me. He leaves me in the hot run after i asked him was there a fan he can put in the room because ima pass out in there he said let me see and cracked the door 20mins later i couldn't take it no more so i get up and call him at first he ignored me until i got louder and told him hes going to find some place else to put me before i pass out n he says there's nope place else i can put u so i said you come sit in here for 10mins and tell me if its bareable then all of a sudden the room across he jus realized it had a fan in it another plan room with jus a chair in it.

I understand ppl with covid have to be isolated but the way they treat covid patients is horrible not even a bed to lay just a bare room that's 90 degrees with a chair. But he come to take bleed from a vein in my hand he didn't even look for a vein in my arm, I have never had blood taken from a been in my hand. Every other dr or nurse I encountered was nice and pleasant but whole hospital seems to be hot they took me up for a ultrasound it was hot in that room I've never been in a hot ultrasound room they brought me downstairs and passed an area that was cool but I ended up being put in a ekg room that was 90 degrees and I was in there for an hour I couldn't get comfortable, I was irritable, very hot to the point where I was just ready to leave.

If I can avoid it I will never go back to E.O. general this place is horrible, they dont treat covid patients well or with an urgency, the place feels like 100 degrees inside i feel sorry for the staff, parking for the Er is far away, they changed the name of the hospital and got worse I feel sorry for anyone who ends up there this summer. If you have a choice go to a different er, the only good thing about it was I wasn't in there all night.

Went to the ER to a very quiet waiting room to be met with a very loud intake staff who wanted to announce symptoms in a boisterous way for some reason. So the entry staff etiquette was uncivilized and that is something the company should take note of. Then I proceeded to go back to see Dr. Oluwaseun Shobitan for approx less than 45 seconds who decided to do no physical exam, no blood work, did nothing for pain and ailment, did no kind of imaging for future comparison incase prognosis worsen, but sent me out with a prescription anyway for a "diagnosis" that's guess work at best.

When I brought it up to the technician about how I wasnt going to be seen he seemed indifferent. If its one thing this place is going to be consistent about is not doing due diligence and not being meticulous in their job I promise you. Also come to find out the Dr. diagnosis was wrong so I was misdiagnosed and put on medication for shoddy guess work.

This is also the place where my mother contracted covid and before releasing her they didn't test for it so when she was release she infected others. Their name change doesn't matter this place is still hazardous as ever!

Horrible experience. While some staff members were quite courteous, others were entirely apathetic. But all we encountered were uninformed to a spectacular level. Information we were told was either completely wrong or contradictory to what other staff members eventually told us. Was on hold for over 20 minutes just to find out what floor my son was on, only to be disconnected. Called a second time, finally found out the floor, but then was told he would be moved.

We asked when he would be moved, got put back on hold. And waited, and waited. Decided to hop in our car and drive to the hospital in rush hour traffic (a 50 minute drive) and was still on hold when we pulled into the driveway. Just to find out when he would be moved. And this level of apathy and incompetence extends unfortunately to the quality of medical care my son was receiving, the specifics of which i will not get into publicly (but you know to what i am referring, EOGH/CH).

My advice, stay away. I arrived at this hospital with my son needing urgent care, thinking and trusting that he would receive quality care. But after two and a half days i found that trust had eroded entirely. Again, to be clear, most staff members were kind and courteous, but woefully uninformed. And those few who were informed (or at least claimed to be) were entirely apathetic to the profound level of misinformation that we received. Just a terrible experience.

East Orange Hospital is fantastic! From the moment you walk through the lobby until you leave, the people are friendly and welcoming, efficient, organized and just all-around great! The best hospital experience I've ever had. I would highly recommend them.

The greatest experience I've ever had at a hospital! The staff was so attentive to my family's needs and very calming to me, the nervous mom! The doctors and nurses were very informative! Such a friendly, easy, helpful experience all around!

Great hospital for all your needs, from a minor injury to a major surgery they have exceptional doctors and staff ready to handle any situation. I have been a patient there for both of those types of visits and was extremely satisfied with the services I received. This hospital goes above and beyond patient care.

I had such a pleasant experience in the Emergency Department. Everyone from the Registrars to the Physician was extremely courteous and professional. The nurse that performed the COVID test was gentle and very personable! Great job! Great service!

I had to take myself and my children for Covid testing, from the moment you walk through the door everyone was so pleasant and treated us with open arms. I must say you don't find a hospital that treats you like family anymore, that's exactly how we felt. Even during these crazy times they represent themselves exactly as they say on their website, CareWell Health Medical Center is a boutique community hospital serving Essex County, a place where every patient is family!

Very impressive, efficient facility. Got my two Moderna COVID-19 vaccines here, plus my booster. Easy-to-complete paperwork, appointments always honored right on time, very short waits, terrific nurse, nice place to sit and spend the mandatory after-shot resting period. A spotless/super-clean building, plus good security and COVID checks at the main entrance. Staff friendly and helpful. Five stars certainly deserved.

My husband and I received our covid 19 vaccinations on different dates and all 4 visits were extremely positive. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. I actually made a mistake with the date of my second appointment and everyone was so thoughtful, helpful and happy to get me in from waiting list that same day. As a senior citizen, I have been to many hospitals, this is truly a review from the heart, a very good experience!

If I could provide one star, I would. This hospital is BY FAR THE WORST. I was told by family to not go there, but it was the closest one so I did. The doctor Dr. Hina Ghory is the WORST. She misdiagnosed me with constipation, but then said "I don't see anything blocking you". Sent me home with a prescription for over the counter medicine. The next day I passed out and was rushed to the hospital where I was diagnosed with Colitis.

The doctor literally seems super disinterested. She would cut me off while I was speaking and her energy was so low vibrational. You can tell she cares NOTHING about her patients and is just there passing the time. Then what's makes it worse, I provided EOG with my insurance information on 4 separate occasions. They called 3 times and each time I provided them with my information.

I got a bill in the mail and when I called, the woman read me the notes in the system and they lied saying they called and there was no answer and I hung up on them. which was NOT true. When you call, everyone sounds like they hate their jobs and you can tell how miserable they all are. I would rather go meet my maker than go to this place EVER AGAIN.

I didn't even know I had a unit nurse until he handed me my papers to leave. Please don't go there. They're unprofessional and nasty when they speak to people. Plus, EVERYONE is on their phones. The amount of unprofessionalism at this place is scary.

Today, I received my Covid Vaccine at EOGH. While I made the appointment online several weeks ago and received a confirmation, they did not have me registered when I arrived. I showed them my email confirmation, and they could not have been more professional and helpful. Anita Mitra registered me and I waited about 10 minutes before receiving my vaccine. Ivy administered the shot.

I received excellent care from the entire staff. Thank you EOGH.it's not easy caring for numbers of people in an urban setting during Covid. You apparently manage the process with skill, caring and professionalism.

My mother was in this hospital for a week, and it was the worst experience we've ever had at a hospital. She started in the ER and was eventually admitted to the ICU. Overall, there was no sense of urgency among the staff. When she threw up blood in the ER, I seemed to be the only one to react. The aide took a long time to clean her up because she was too busy laughing and talking with another aide.

The nurse took even longer to evaluate her because "he was so busy." In the ICU, no one responded to the nurse's bell, we had to go to the nurse station every time to have someone address concerns for my mom. Even then it was a long wait for someone to come to the room. The medical staff was so unprofessional. I saw an aide and maintenance worker play fighting and wrestling in the hallway outside of my mom's room.

The staff openly and loudly talked negatively about patients, visitors and their own coworkers in the middle of the hallway. My mom is bed bound and cannot go to the bathroom on her own. One evening, I got there and found her soaked in urine. It took over an hour for an aide to come change her after going to the nurse station multiple times to ask for assistance.

When the aide came, she started to change my mom without closing the door or pulling the privacy curtain. My mom's bed was closest to the door. I asked her to give my mother some privacy as people were walking back and forth in the hall. She shrugged her shoulders and said "it's mostly employees in the hallway." I told her that's irrelevant and closed the door myself.

The doctors did not return my calls when I left messages asking for an update on my mother. The only time I spoke to them was when they were calling for consent to do a procedure and only then I was able to ask about her condition. I work during the day so by the time I went to see her in the evening, I was met with nurses who couldn't tell me much about her ongoing treatment plan. I was not made aware of her discharge either, I got a call from the nursing home one morning saying that she was back in their facility.

I had to give it one star to post. My sister tried to commit suicide. She is on the psych ward in the "hospital". I have not been able to talk to her for 3 days. Everyday they switch me to several different places, although I provide her name and room number. Several time, they keep telling me she is not a patient there. I final was able to get the ward today and they told me to call back in a hour.

When I called back in a hour, they said its 10:00, so I couldn't talk to her. I am out of state, I live in Texas, so this is very stressful to have a family member trying to kill herself and can't contact them. If they are this incompetent with the phone system, I hate to think of what is happening to the patients.

My husband came in presenting with stroke symptoms. The ER Doctor leading the stroke team was phenomenal. He responded right away and after asking pertinent questions moved right in. Within minutes, he was responding to the treatment. The Doctor kept coming back to check on him until we left the ER. Thank God it wasn't a stroke but if it was, I am confident my husband would have been ok.

His nurse Helena was also personable and helped to set my mind at ease. Have to be honest was reluctant to go to East Orange General but I am glad we did. Great job ER. Additionally want to shout out Ms. Evelyn 3rd floor nursing assistant. Helpful, wonderful spirit. She was very responsive to our needs.

Never again. I came here about 3 years ago on Christmas Eve. In the midst of anaphylactic shock because I had eaten something with peanuts. My face was swelling and I had hives, hot flashes and itching out of this world. You would think that because my throat is at risk for closing up they would've acted with some haste. But no. They had me fill out some form.

The nurses took my vitals before I got in the waiting room and they were dragging their feet while talking to each other while administering me. Meanwhile I'm panicking and swelling. And itchy and hot. There was no care or empathy or sense of urgency. She was trying to make me take a pregnancy test after all of that to which I'm pleading with her to give me some Benadryl or epinephrine or something!

Finally a doctor came out of no where and scolded them and I was given the right medicines and a proper bed Then administered to the ICU. Because anaphylaxis is just that serious! No matter what I will never return to that hospital. They made me fear for my life. The nurses are only there for money. The facilities also left a lot to be desired. They are still asking for money from that incident but I simply refuse to pay for that kind of care.

Let me tell you. I had a heart scare (basically some irregularities with my heartbeat) I couldn't let go of my chest, so I wasn't able to use my hands to get dressed. I was wearing a pair of boxers in the E.R. Upon entry, I was ridiculed by 2 security guards, the admin person who did the registration and one of the nurses, without questions, she automatically assumed I was doing drugs (I've never done any grade of drug in my life) The fact that I had an emergency, & couldn't get fully dressed, One would assume my emergency is paramount. Not at E. Orange ER. Apparently you should come dressed to impress! If you ever have an option in seeking medical care, I assure you, DO NOT GO HERE!

My surgery was performed at East Orange General Hospital. They were terrible! Approximately twenty-four hours after my surgery (I had spent the entire Monday after my 10:00am surgery in bed, on an IV drip and heavily medicated), the catheter was removed. After it was removed, I indicated to the nurse I needed to go to the bathroom. Her response, "It's right there. Go." I was incredulous!

I had not moved in twenty hours or so. I did not know how to roll over in bed, much less get up and out. And, I certainly did not know how to walk. All I knew was pain! I asked her to help me. She got me sitting up on the side of the bed, again told me the bathroom was "right there" and left the room. I sat there for half an hour, stuck and crying.

Which did not help because every breath I took felt like I was being stretched and tortured. After midnight on the first night, two nurses got into a screaming-match with each other at the nurse's station. Full on, so that in a drug-induced haze, with my door closed, I was roused from sleep. This went on for approximately twenty minutes or so. complete with f-words.

My IV was unclipped to allow me to go to the bathroom. It was never restarted. My leg compressors were unclipped to allow me to go the bathroom. The 'nurse' says "let me show you how to do it so you can reattach it yourself." I had to pee and poop before I left the hospital. When it finally happened on day two, I informed the 'nurse' on duty so he could inform my doctor.

His response, 'Good; I will tell her. But I have to eat first, I am hungry, so will tell her after." I asked two of the 'nurses' why no one has checked my incision, for anything - bleeding, signs of infection, anything. One responded, "You didn't look at it yourself?" I was given 800mg of Motrin every six hours. I asked, "Shouldn't I eat something first?" They responded, "Oh. you want something to eat?" They were negligent. Unprofessional. Impulsive. Untrained. Jaded. Lazy.

They were dangerous. They should not be allowed around the sick, frail, elderly, vulnerable and afraid. I am strong. But I was found at the side of a bed exposed, in excruciating pain, heavily drugged and in tears. Shame on them!

Major changes and upgrades at this hospital can be seen in both renovation as well as the quality of care and experience that you have. Two thumbs up. Will definitely tell my friends

This hospital is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL I took my wife there for mental help she stay there for ONE month. After a few weeks she was ok but now they say she is she sick which was not the case. Now they want to send her to Cedar Grove and she is telling them she want to come home. I when there to visit and to speak to the head nurse or some body, and nobody seems to know nothing, They called me one time after that I have not got a phone call. Some of the staff there look like they just came out of school and look like they have no clue of what they are doing. This is the worst hospital in New Jersey.

I had an appointment at 9:00 A.M. on the 4th floor, bariatric clinic. They people that worked their was so unprofessional. The dietitian made me wait 3 1/2 hours. Then when I showed them how aggravated I was, then the dietitian took me back but the whole time she rushed me through my appointment and kept telling me how bad she felt that the other patient has to wait now.

She showed no concern that she kept me waiting for 3 1/2 hours. Not even an apology from her. I've been to plenty other dietitians before and this lady was so unknowledgeable and unprofessional. The staff people kept speaking Spanish to me, I do not speak Spanish, English only here. The hospital was very dirty. The doctor assistance was nasty to me, she would ask me a question and as I went to answer she went right to the next question without giving me time to answer.

Very unprofessional. SO by the time I actually sat down with the doctor 7 1/2 hours later I couldn't hold back and had a melt down. I cried a little bit and felt like an idiot afterwards. But that doctor told me that you need to feel comfortable with your doctor. haha she was right about that. I cancelled all my upcoming appointments with her and all her staff.

I would never recommend this hospital to anyone. Like I said Unprofessional and dirty as heck. I would be afraid to get surgery done and end up getting some kind of staph infection afterwards due to filth here. Something really needs to get done here. State should step in and clean it up and rehire people that show professionalism.

Upon arrival at the intake office, the security guard and another worker were sooo loud and unprofessional. They were yelling and talking extremely loud; to the point where my husband and I couldn't even hear the questions being asked to us, with the lady right in front of us. I came to this hospital with my husband through the emergency room and I was denied access to go with him in the back.

I don't know if there is some sort of new policy they have but I was extremely shocked that they would not allow me to go with him. They also denied another husband from even seeing his wife who also was in the back. The security guard was extremely rude and nasty. Basically yelling in the man's face that he could not see his wife. The man asked for his wife to be allowed to come out to see him to give her medicine and he told him that he couldn't, to just wait!

To just wait until they process her. I came here in March of this year with the flu and my husband was allowed to go inside and stay with me in my room. Another family also came in with their family with a husband and wife and their baby. And they would only allow the mom in with the baby and not the father. This is sad and ridiculous. And the tone of the security guard toward sick ones loved ones is disgusting.

The security guard, admission lady and another worker who always sat in the back was also, talking very nasty about one of their new coworkers attire. This was in ear shot of the whole room. Being that both were talking too loud. This sort of gossip should be prohibited. It's extremely unprofessional and should not me hear at all during anyone's wait time.

When you go to the other Hospital's like Hackensack University's, this sort of behavior would not be allowed, displayed or excepted. It's just unprofessional. As I am sitting here, these unprofessional people are giving me much more to write about. The security guard is referencing to someone as a nigga. And the staff members are just laughing about it.

The cleaning personal has come out into the waiting room and making us all get up so that he could sweep and mop the floor. This sort of house Cleaning should be done at a more convenient time then while people are waiting for their sick love ones. Shaking dust all in the air for us to breathe and get sick. The staff is doing alot of cussing and behaving as if they were in a backyard party.

This is truly sad. And also, the last time we come here. Unless something changes. After 1 hour and 30 minutes, a staff member must have felt bad for me sitting out in the waiting room waiting for my husband and asked me if I would like to go in the back and see my husband and how he's doing, but that I couldn't stay. I'm thankful for her coming around and showing a little bit of compassion. 1 is better than 0.

I went here because of the pain I was in. First, let me say VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. One of the nurses gave me a hard time. She took all my vitals and when in question she asked where is the pain. I proceeded in telling her and she told me that I'm wrong and the pain isn't where I'm saying. Then went on by, telling what part of MY BODY THE PAIN SHOULD BE. Really.

Then while walking in where my bed is going to be, I asked can my husband and child come in. She than told me NO. So I texted my husband to tell the security guard I need him and the security guard brought him in. The first nurse who took care of me Never gave me her Name, never told me what she was going to do, MY HUSBAND ASKED HER. The doctor just talked.

The second round of nurses came in and they were more professional than the first including the second doctor. The other issue was when done with my ultrasound, the nurse called for someone to come and get me and it took 20 minutes for someone to come. Just waiting and not knowing is the problem I have. I hope they make changes. Being a nurse or doctor is part of customer service, which all lack. I can't say that I won't go back, because this is the only hospital close by.

This place is a nightmare that nightmares are made of. How on god's earth is it still functioning. Let's talk about the outdated technology, let's talk about holes in the walls and ceilings in the ER. Let's talk about improper privacy screens and them making make shift room out of spaces that are not equip for it. Let's talk about them taking your grandmother's table top fan and nailing them to the wall and THEN, those are broken - while they have the heat on hell. Let's talk about the numerous HIPPA violations that I saw, witnessed and have since started recording. Just do yourself a favor, (IF YOU CAN HELP IT) go to another hospital. One far, far away from this one.

I hate the psychiactric ward in this hospital. Most of the staff there are very insensitive and they could care less about the patients. My husband brought me there because I had a breakdown and he was worried about me and just because he was crying because he was concerned about me they admitted him also against his will. While we was there we was forced to be around staff who hated their jobs and treated the patients horribly and when we spoke up for ourselves they made fun of us.

My room use to be next to the nurses station and they use to make fun of us patients all hours during the day and night. DR. MGBAKO AMBROSE was the nastiest doctor I've ever met. He never wanted to talk to his patients he was so arrogant and shun us away when we needed to talk to him. He would always make rude comments and make us feel low about ourselves.

The Staff could care less about anyone's feelings they would yell and mock all of us patients when all of us were there to get help and feel better about ourselves. The phone was broke for over a week and all of us couldn't call our loved ones and when we would complain about the phones they would say THE PHONE IS BROKE WELL IT'S NOT OUR PROBLEM and everyone couldn't even call their family to wish them Merry Christmas.

The showers didn't work for three days and the staff would complain and make fun of the smell on the unit when it wasn't the patients fault. This was a terrible hospital stay and we're not going back because we're traumatized from the way we was treated and neglected. THIS HOSPITAL SHOULD BE CLOSED

Have had occasion to be here 3 times. On one occasion I never saw my Mom's dr. to discuss her diagnosis. after a week of not knowing or hearing anything I told the nurse that if the dr. did not call me in 10 minutes to discuss Mom's diagnosis I was calling the state.my phone rang in five minutes. That said Mom had a personal nurse that never left her side( she had balance issues)and an RN.

During her last visit the hospital staff was highly attentive and kind. The doctor talked on the phone to our family that was not present for over an hour. He explained everything in detail. I actually don't love any hospital. Mom spent time in St. Barnabus as well and they are simply idiotic and she didn't have a personal nurse. Overall the staff does a good job here and I could & would recommend them.
