Literally the worst primary care I've EVER had. DO NOT GO HERE. The front desk is rude and their doctor turn over rate is so high that I've had to do a physical/ re-admit every single time I've needed help. The most recent time I called to try and make an appointment they forgot they put me on hold and I waited 35 minutes. I hung up and called again and they answered immediately.
Then the front desk put me on hold again but did it incorrectly so I could still hear everything. She put me on hold so she could finish a personal conversation about her weekend. Then 10 min later when she finished she realized what she had done and just hung up on me. I didn't even bother calling back.

I have had, and currently work with, a lot of doctors. Dr. Ehsani is a wonderful physician in that he is extremely knowledgeable and caring at the same time. In my case, he has taken the time to read up on things that affect me that are not internal medicine issues. He feels the need to be educated on other than internal medicine issues that affect his patients. I can not stress how entirely comfortable I feel with him as my Primary Care Doctor.

I've been with JMG for 10 years. They really take care of me. I've seen many of their providers, all whom I've had great experiences with. Karen Hanna Arndt is my primary, I've seen her the longest. She's amazing. There is no where else I know where I can get an appointment to be seen the same day or same week. I used to have Kaiser when I lived in LA and they're probably as bad as it gets.
At Kaiser, I could never get a referral, the wait time in the waiting room is awful, and they really lack in patient education. All things that JMG excels in. If I have questions, the providers are extremely knowledgeable and really make sure I get everything I need or came there for each visit. They are very good at ordering labs when I need and just really provide comprehensive care. The service I receive at JMG is unparalleled. If you think they are bad, go somewhere else, you'll see what I mean.

Dr. Eshani was the first doctor I have seen in a long time who listened to me, and considered my past medical history and labs during my visits. He is caring, patient-centered, and extremely knowledgeable. He is always available to get in contact with if you have any concerns or questions and is confident in his expertise. I would give him 6 stars if I could. THANK YOU DR. E!

The front office person made everything easy. I went for urgent care, but Jenna not only helped with that issue, he helped with the overall issue. I felt like she really listened to me and cared, too.and btw.got there early and was seen right away! PS I was hoping there was a bigger than 5 stars for the staff friendliness. I have seen nothing like it.deserves way over 5 stars.above and beyond doesn't even come close. Makes you feel at home.

I've been Dr. Eshani's patient at Jackson Medical for several years. I have never failed to be impressed by his professionalism and his willingness to address all my concerns. I recommend Dr. Eshani without reservation because of his breadth of knowledge, his skills and his relaxed, supportive and friendly interactions with patients.

I saw Dr Eshani for surgery to remove a malignant melanoma from above my knee. I had never met him before and he was very pleasant and easy to talk to, making me feel relaxed right away. He explained things thoroughly and I felt very comfortable. His assistant was also very helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you!

I had a telehealth appointment with one of their doctors. They were supposed to send in a prescription for me. They sent the wrong one. I contacted them by email and did not hear back. Called and left voicemail, left another email. Tried another voicemail and the person responded saying she had passed on the info to Amy. Never got my prescription for diabetes testing supplies and never heard back from them.
What a joke of a practice if they can't even get prescriptions right. I'd hate to see what happens with a medical emergency. Probably wouldn't live long enough to write about it.

UPDATE 21-06-2021: After my review below, Today I received a mail from Jackson group telling me that they will not provide any medical care to me. I attached the letter. So be careful when you write a bad review about them. --ORIGINAL REVIEW-- Very helpful and profesional staff. But i think company policies are unfair! - 288$ for "new establishment?" - I had one preventive check up every year for free from my insurance.
I called the clinic and ask for an appointment. But they told me due to the Covid we cannot visit the office but they told us the doctor will call me back. The doctor called me and told me that I need to make some lab test for the check up and give me an appointment. After the test results I visited the doctor for the preventive check up. And surprise!
I received a bill of $118 for myself and $170 for my daughter. When I told them that "this is a preventive visit which is included for fee with my insurance" they told me that this is not for the visit but for "new establishment" with them! All my phone calls, visits and lab test was for free yearly preventive check up visit and I think that is unfair to charge people for an "establishment" to the clinic.
I came to United States two years before, and I was always afraid to go to the health centers. Because I heard many horror stories about the billing. And now I understand all of the stories and I learned my lesson. Coming from a country where all the healthcare is for free, it is hard to digest the situation. If I am sick or need health care I totally agree to pay for the service, because I am on a high deductible plan. But I cannot accept pay for a free service which is included in my insurance and that I don't need at all.

Wow where do I begin. I had such a horrible experience today and I feel camaraderie with these other reviewers because Santa Barbara and Goleta will be a much better place when these people go out of business. This medical group does switch you around to providers all the time. When you have a major illness but you don't get the sniffles they get tired of making referrals and getting prior authorizations from insurance because they are not being able to bill for the service.
As another review stated they hold your referrals hostage saying that the previous provider won't do it and you need to wait a week or two to meet with a new provider this is completely illegal. This is medical malpractice. Specifically patient abandonment. And all of this to someone Who has been diagnosed with two catastrophic illnesses in less than one year. I had to put one star to post but literally they get -5 stars.

I made an appointment to be seen today due to nausea and was told that I was going to be given something that would help me.only to find out that I was given b6.from the shelf. On top of that, there was miscommunication between Jackson and my pharmacy and I was barely able to pick it up about an hour ago at 7 pm. Also, the on-call provider is SO RUDE.
Like grunting and heavy sighs because she had to check on my chart. Please find a more amicable and pleasant person for this. The last thing sick people want to do is deal with a person who so clearly hates their job.

Let me start of by saying that my former Primary Care Physician, Dr. Ehsani, was amazing! Best I've ever had. He was attentive, and compassionate. I would highly recommend him. However, I cannot recommend Jackson Medical Group. On multiple occasions, I have had altercations with the receptionists, while in the phone. I am an individual with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and they have sent me into meltdown on multiple occasions.
I try to compose myself, to the best of my ability, and explain how the American's With Disabilities Act (ADA) works, and that they are required to alter policy and procedure to make accommodations for an individual with a disability. They then proceed to argue with me, and tell me that they are not required to follow ADA requirements. They then get Dr. Jackson l, their Medical Director, on the line and he reprimands me for threatening his staff.
I tried reiterating what I had told the staff, and that I was not threatening them, just informing them of my rights as a disabled individual. One time, they even threatened to drop me as a client. I got my insurance company involved, and everything was worked out. But now today, I was officially told to find a new Primary Care Physician. It seems as if they only care about taking your money, and not about maintaining a good patient relationship. I am sad to lose the best Primary Care Physician I've ever had.

Just went in the other day due to a soar throat, wanted to make sure it wasn't strep and everyone was super sweet. Front desk girl was super cool and had a nice conversation with her while in the waiting room. Another girl came and got me to get some physical info from me (another great experience). Lastly my doctor who was a PA/C came in to check out my concern.
She was happy to answer any questions and made sure I was comfortable in the room. It was my first time going in and I'm happy to say I found a new place where I will be going for any medical issues in the future.

Follow up to my last review. After calling to reschedule my last appointment the front desk receptionist started asking me personal medical questions. I asked her if she was qualified to learn confidential medical information about me? She said she was not but most people do anyway. After I refused she said she will call me back with an appointment.
She never did. Instead four days later I received a message from Dr. Jackson who is NOT my doctor and I assume the owner of Jackson Medical Group saying I should find a new doctor and that I basically am a bad patient. This is in clear retaliation to my review and the fact that I caught his staff trying to break the confidentiality rules and privacy of the patient.
Which I was told has happened before by the staff. Now I have to file a grievance against them. So frustrating to have to deal with any of this! So to put it simply save yourself and NEVER GO HERE! They are definitely not in the helping people buisness and truly should be ashamed of this type of conduct. I mainly just need them for my referrals to my Samsum specialists and that company (Samsum Medical) as is whole is fantastic!
From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave 100% professional. The exact opposite of the Jackson Medical Group. This was worth writing if it helps just one person out there. Thanks

I've been going to JMG for over 20 years and honestly can't say why I've stuck around this long. Laziness? Most likely. After today's appointment, however, I am finally switching to a different provider. Today I was seen at the Patterson office. The receptionist was very sick, coughing all over everything and everyone, not wearing a mask.
Each time she answered the phone it triggered a coughing fit. While checking me in, she coughed right into her hand and then grabbed my debit card to charge my copay. Apart from the sick receptionist sharing her germs with everyone, the wait time today was the longest I've ever experience with JMG. My appointment was at 10am and I wasn't seen until 11:00.
I spent 40 minutes in the freezing (and dirty!) exam room waiting. When the nurse brought me to the room, there was a worn gown still sitting on the exam table and the paper covering had not been changed. The floor was sprinkled with little black curly hairs everywhere. I do not recommend this group.

If you are looking for a reliable, trustworthy and caring doctor, do not go here! The receptionists and office workers are especially rude and lack empathy. If you have no insurance, they treat you like a stray dog. The doctors move you through like cattle and have poor listening skills. The only people that save this medical group are the NPs and PAs.

Before my own review: please see all of the other negative reviews at this company's previous address on Patterson. There are many others voicing the same complaint. Let me be the first to say it here: stay as far away from this "practice" as you can. They charged me a sneaky co-pay for a regular physical --not something that is legal for preventative care.
When I was called on the phone by the office staff they were aggressive and seemed angry that I couldn't speak with them there and then. I walked into the office a few days later to see what the issue was and asked what they were billing me for. They initially told me it was for a referral. Not legal either. The front desk staff were snide, argumentative and bordering on aggressive. ".He asked you about your hearing and you responded.
Therefore it is diagnostic." I paid the bill because they they threatened me with collection and I couldn't be bothered with the legal headache. These people are deceptive and should be ashamed of the way they are duping patients into extra billing. They should inform patients about costs up front. If you do have to go there, make sure to ask your doctor to tell you when they cross that line between "preventative" and "diagnostic", but really, go to Samsum or some other place where they have bit of respect for clients.
