Dr cotter killed a baby. The mother went in and was having trouble having him delivered. He went into distress but they continued to force her to push for over an hour. When he still could not be delivered they used the vacuum forcing him to come out fracturing his shoulder. He was transferred to uvm nicu where he was declared brain dead a day later because of lack of oxygen and passed away.

Worst hospital ever! I had a ski injury and when taken to the ER, they x-rayed my knee, but didn't think to x-ray further up to my hip. So, they said they saw nothing wrong and I'd have it looked at by their orthopedic clinic. Then this occured which I copied and pasted from my intentional bad review of the physicians assistant Daniel Cole at the orthopedic clinic, which is part of the hospital.
You can't make this stuff up :. ------- This man should NOT be practicing medicine. Wen't there with an injury and he did a quick five minute exam and diagnosed it as a hamstring injury without an x-rays. Then I went back for a follow-up visit weeks later and he examined the hamstring and said it's coming along great, but the issue was now me not ditching the crutches and using the crutches unnecessarily. Meanwhile, after not getting better, I went for x-rays somewhere else and found out I had a broken hip all along. Pure gross negligence.

I'm progressively getting worse over the last 6 months. The other night I had an episode in which I could only imagined felt like a stroke. I was unable to talk, then was slurring my words. I legitimately felt like I could die. I could hear one of the nurses joking and making fun of me and laughing at my expense right outside the room with other nurses. Overweight, short-colored hair.
I called for help because my chest started pounding and hurting and no one came. Had to take all my own stuff off in order to get to the bathroom so I didn't urinate on myself. Some doctors seemed ok but they all just try to discharge you as slowly as possible. I've never felt fear in my life but the other night I did. I told my wife I loved her and to call my mother who lives a couple hours away so she knew what was happening. Im only 33, I shouldn't feel the way I do, or have the episodes that I'm having. There isn't a doctor in this god forsaken town who is trying to help me. They went to school for the money and job security not to help people.

My Mom, Sybil " Collie" Warren recently passed away from the care received, or not received, at this health(not care) facility. Her first ED visit assessment was was misinterpreted as a GI virus. The second ED visit now in extreme pain was diagnosed as a bowel blockage. This led to a laparotomy, recovery and discharge to local rehab. She was then readmitted from rehab with complications from the surgery, infection/wound drainage and treated by the on-call surgeon.
Post assessment and treatment my mother was once again returned to the rehab facility. She entered rehab on Friday afternoon, returned to the hospital Saturday morning and passed away on Sunday evening. Her death certificate states cause of death due to: Sepsis and Hospital Acquired Pneumonia My Mom's last 2 weeks on this earth were spent being shuttled from one facility to the other! My question to this so called healthcare facility, Rutland Regional Medical Center, is where was the appropriate care for my mother?

I don't suppose the Rutland Hospital has improved much since its early days. Its hiring managers appear to be like every other big business, with its bottom line being money, NOT STAFF. Imagine an healthcare professional that does not grasp that people whom are hearing impaired, must see a mouth move in order to understand the (?professional?). Even a fifth grader has the sense to know that.

Had surgery on my spine with Dr. Zmurko. This man has the worst bedside manner of any doctor I've ever encountered. Repeatedly poking & prodding the affected area with reckless abandon, like he just wanted to move on with his day. Had to go for a bi-weekly checkup that costs $75/visit just to be told I should come back in a few weeks to check again. FINALLY was able to get surgery (couldn't walk normal nor stand up straight).
The surgery got botched, my spinal fluid was leaking, and I GOT BLAMED FOR IT. Dr. Zmurko told me that happened because I waited too long to have surgery. Spent 3 days in the hospital, with a different nurse coming every few hours that I had to explain to them what happened. Got no physical therapy after surgery, nor any painkillers to ease my bedrest. Go ANYWHERE else. This man is not qualified for his job.

I was treated great from the Nursing staff but from my surgeon she let me be in pain and wasn't listening to what I said what she did to me was crucial I wouldn't wish what she did to me to happen to anyone else. And to top it off it wasn't my doing for this surgery the first surgery she put in a mesh and this surgery she took it out because the mesh itself was infected. I am calling a lawyer to file a suit.

I wish I could leave multiple reviews for every single negative experience we've had with this hospital from sending my daughter home with a broken arm to almost killing my loved one yesterday by not listening to family requests regarding anesthesia. This is the second time in ten years their anesthesia department has almost killed someone. Go to Burlington, it's not worth the risk.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. My grandmother had a stroke with results of paralyzation and a major brain bleed that the doctors couldn't stop. I showed up to go see her before she got airlifted to Burlington and they wouldn't let me in because I never got my vaccination. I hope you guys are happy that you possible just took my last visit with my grandmother away from me.
