Amelia was great. She listed to my issues, explained what she thought was going on, prescribed some medicine to help temporality until the lab work came in, and made adjustments accordingly. Everyone was pleasant and everything went smoothly and my driver was allowed inside to wait as opposed to waiting in his car.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you will be undergoing a "screening colonoscopy", meaning that you presently don't have any GI symptoms, please be aware that it during the procedure a polyp is removed or a biopsy is performed, some insurance carriers will no longer consider this a screening procedure and may charge you a higher rate.
Colon cancer screening is best performed by colonoscopy and should begin at age 50 and be performed every ten years. If a person has a family history of a parent or sibling having colon cancer or a polyp before age 65, then colonoscopy should begin at age 40 or ten years younger than the age of the family member when they were diagnosed with colon cancer or polyps.
