My mom is currently in this hospital the second time this year and this place is horrible. It's hard to get a nurse to talk to you and they never call you back or anything. They promised my mom a wheelchair or a very least a walker but they never gave it to her and they complain that she should be walking around. Ok but maybe provide her a walker then?
Now my mom is completely immobile and starting to show early signs of possible Alzheimer's or dementia some being hospitalized in February. She was doing great til then though although she had mobility issues. Now she has issue after issue after issue Look I understand that it's a pandemic but this place should do a better job and call their loved ones daily. EDITED unfortunately my mom passed away under their care. Never bring your loved ones here

My sister stayed at the hospital for a week. She had hard time breathing and was brought to the emergency. She had some tests and also an angiogram done. The doctors never come to tell her/us the outcome of the tests. Yes we asked several times and her nurse told her/us, that's all I know. A day before her discharge, she was told that she had diastolic heart failure.
Nobody told her or anyone of us being with her all the time, that she had also an artery blocked 50% and that she had a mild heard attack. We found all the information from her personal cardiologist that she visited later. I strongly urge nobody, nobody to go to Weiss memorial hospital. One of the worst hospital in the Chicago area.

Great doctors, but the facility is a mess and calling them regarding any kind of billing or clarification is dreadful. Many numbers on the site or in their own phone directories are disconnected. Asking questions about surgery prep and where to go was also frustrating during the pandemic due the issue above. Good luck ever calling these folks. Edit: rep called me and they were able to address my concerns.

I had never heard of this hospital until yesterday when I needed to take a refugee family to get immediate care in the ER. The hospital seemed alright once we all got there and they found an Arabic speaking interpreter when we needed one for the patient. After registration, she and her son sat down to wait, and this is where it became ridiculous and utterly unacceptable.
We expected the wait time to be long. 5 hours later and they are still waiting and now she is cold, still struggling with severe pain and no one has called them to be seen, not even triage. It's now 11pm and her son has school today, so she is cold and wants to go home. I have been to a lot of hospital emergency rooms in Chicago, even the county hospital, but I have never experienced a wait time like this.
Our refugee family decided that they wanted to go home and we chose to take them home and apologized profusely about the hospital, letting them know that not all the hospitals will treat them like this and that this was not the norm in Chicago. We left thoroughly disappointed and saddened by the service and treatment of patients, and like I said, I have experienced a great number of hospital emergency rooms in different Chicago hospitals, but never had service that was this terrible.
Even after calling and speaking to someone about our wait, they showed no empathy and just stated that this was normal and we should wait for 8 hrs to be seen. This is not a good beginning for any medical care and I know now not to attend this hospital under any circumstances.

I'm self pay and have been an arvey clinic patient for more than a decade. Very appreciative and grateful for the easy and affordable way I can manage most of my healthcare tests. But man, since pipeline bought over and their billing system changed I've had nothing but problems with them for Billing me for amounts I do not owe. While I am charged a discounted rate, their system dies not recognize that keeps a running balance of the full charges.
The clinic staff is aware of it but nothing is done. I pay in full at time of service and now I have 4 sets of charges sent to collections because of their inaccurate billing practices. It has been over two months that I have been calling and attempting to get this straightened out with little luck. The manager at the Clinic is useless. She said she would correct it months ago and did not.
It moved from one charge in collection to 4. She also has never had the courtesy to return any of my 3 calls after that to address my concern. At the moment Im emailing someone name Amy in billing who is helping to sort this out. A week ago she responded that she saw a note that her managers okeyed the adjustments. I asked her how long this will take, but she has never responded.
As of today, a week since, no adjustments have been made. They also never had the courtesy to inform the collection agency so they are still calling me and sending me bills. This is not the first time this has happened to me with their billing. At least the previous manager was on it. But this current manager does not seem to care. I also paid for a lab test that was not done, and now nobody in billing knows how to address that and refund or credit me.
The incompetence of the lab not doing that test caused me to be referred out to a specialist for a repeat testing and more $ wasted. Not to mention an additional facility charge which I feel I should not have to pay since i already paid the first time I did the test. I was ask to repeat the test since the initial sample was put into an expired vial.
I had the same test done 3 times. The third time could have been avoided if the lab and run the tests that were ordered. While calling around to find someone to assist with the clinic billing error, hospital billing informed me i have a $2.60 bill that is past due and will be sent to collections. I had to laugh. What would it cost them to do that?
It appears I was charged $2.60 less than what they should have charged me for a previous test for which I already paid in full on the day of service. Now I see pipeline was sold Weiss to a Michigan firm, I imagine the will also have a new billing system. Let's hope it's better. Ive made more than half a dozen calls in the last month, 4 calls today alone to the hospital main line hoping to connect with the cashier about the cost of the test I paid for but did not receive, but the phone just rings. Ive also made several calls over 2 months asking for an itemized bill for an ER visit in Jan but have not received yet.
I did receive a text with a link to a portal to pay but the portal says im not 'configured' to access the portal. I provided an email for billing hoping i could get it that way but nothing yet. I did receive the bill for $2.60 though which I'm sure cost more than that to send out.

Gotta agree with the bad reviews on here. This is not one of the better hospitals in Chicago area. Staff aren't great, they will send you bills when they shouldn't and waste your time because they don't know how to code things properly. Also what large hospital doesn't have a patient portal so that you can login and get access to your own medical records?
Instead you have to go there or fax over paperwork and wait for them to release your own records to you. What a hassle. Numerous better hospitals and specialty clinics out there.

I had surgery at Weiss at the end of 2021, and while no one wants to have surgery, the staff at Weiss made it as pleasant of an experience as possible. From the front desk staff to the nurses to the anesthesiologists, everyone at Weiss was friendly, patient, and caring. It was clear they had my health and best interests in mind.
