VeinSolutions was started in Indianapolis, Indiana by a group of vascular surgeons from CorVasc MD's to enhance their already busy arterial practice. Shortly after forming VeinSolutions in 1996, a group of vascular surgeons in Columbus, Ohio came to visit our office to learn how they could open their own vein practice. They loved our concept, but realized they didn't have the time or energy it takes to start their own practice so they asked if an arrangement could be made for us to put together a VeinSolutions office for them.

The VeinSolutions physicians are interested in finding long-term solutions for you. That's why they'll take the time to find the cause of your condition and prescribe the course of treatment that will correct it, rather than just mask it. On the following pages you may read some of the most common disorders we see at VeinSolutions, as well as possible treatments you may undergo.
When veins are working properly, they return blood to the heart for reoxygenization. When their valves fail, leak or are damaged, some of the blood flows in a backward direction instead of toward the heart, where it may collect in a pool. This can cause the veins to become distended, and that's when you can get symptoms such as pain, burning, itching, throbbing and fatigue.
Spider veins are the ones you see closer to the skin's surface that may appear small, threadlike and wispy. They may appear red or purple in color; however, reticular veins or "feeder" veins may appear bluish-green and can have a marbled appearance. Spider veins and reticular veins are generally considered a cosmetic condition and usually not covered by insurance.
Depending on the outcome of your initial evaluation, a duplex ultrasound scan may be necessary and a separate appointment will be scheduled. The ultrasound provides a visual window, revealing the diseased, refluxing veins beneath the skin's surface. The diagnostic information from the ultrasound can help us pinpoint the exact cause of your varicose veins and enable us to customize a treatment plan for your individual needs. The scan may be a covered benefit through your health insurance plan, and we encourage you to check with your plan provider before having the test.

I am a repeat customer (over a span of 10 years) and I can tell you that this is an excellent facility. Dr. Nicholson is not only skilled at what he does, but has a wonderful personality to match. Everyone on staff whom I've encountered is cheery and seems happy to work there, which I take as an excellent sign of good workplace dynamics. I'm very pleased with the results of my procedures.

Nice office, but not impressed with how they do business. I had varicose veins on both legs and went for an evaluation. The doctor I met with told me he wasn't supposed to be there.the other doctor forgot. He proceeded to tell me what could be done and I set up an appointment for ultrasound, where they also met about costs. Insurance covers part.

After all was complete and my portion was a bit higher than expected I had a vein on one leg that still hurt and looked like a bruise. I went in and the doctor was horrible-lecturing me about the fact it looked better than before. They might all be the same, but I will go somewhere else for the vein he missed.
