Dr. Russell is a native of the Southwest Ohio area where he lives with his wife and two sons. The goal of Dr. Russell's professional life is to assist men through the often difficult journey of helping to build a family of their own. To achieve this goal, Dr. Russell decided to pursue advanced fellowship training in microsurgery and male infertility.
Approximately 500,000 vasectomies are performed each year in the United States, and between 3-8% of these men will eventually change their mind and wish to have further children. Following vasectomy, sperm continue to be made by the testicles, but they cannot travel out the the blocked vas deferens, so they are reabsorbed by the body.
This is the pre-paid cost, and is the same regardless of whether a vas-to-vas or vas-to-epididymis procedure is needed. This is the complete reversal cost with no 'hidden charges'. The only costs that this does not cover is any recommended blood testing (which are typically covered by insurance), and the follow-up semen analysis testing (performed at a local fertility lab near where you live).
At least half of Dr. Russell's vasectomy reversal patients come from outside the South/Central Ohio region. He therefore provides vasectomy reversal consultations over the phone, so that only one trip to the area is necessary. Phone consultations are available for couples living in the South/Central Ohio area as well.
