In the 1930s, just as pediatric medicine was being refined, Dr. James C. Overall opened the pediatric practice that would become Old Harding Pediatric Associates (OHPA). Many childhood illnesses were common at the time, with devastating effects on the health of children. It was in this challenging time that Dr. Overall set out to serve the children and families of Nashville.
Then, in the late 30s, the growing practice added Dr. Joe Strayhorn, in a partnership that would span 35 years. Although pediatric care has made great strides since OHPA was founded, our current physicians share Dr. Overall's original vision for state-of-the-art pediatric care that consistently seeks new opportunities to improve the health of children.

This is a great facility for those who don't believe in medical freedom. Dr. Ragsdale, started off as a kind provider until we began questioning vaccines and the potentials of vaccine injuries. Each appointment we denied vaccines, because we still weren't comfortable because he was so young. She would make comments blaming our sons ear infections on the fact that he wasn't vaccinated and even tried telling us our son could die without the 3 month old vaccines.
We stopped seeing her and only went in when he was sick, seeing providers in Belle Meade. But, recently we wanted him to have a check up so we did a wellness visit, which unfortunately was with her. At his most recent wellness checkup, I didn't attend and he was only accompanied by his father because I was afraid she'd harass us. At this particular appointment, she chose to deny our son further care because we still chose not to vaccinate and sent me a letter in the mail saying she was uncomfortable providing him care.
Last week, he was seen by a different provider at the facility and they diagnosed him with another ear infection, instead of checking him for the flu. Well, Our whole household ended up getting the flu, and when we called back to get him reevaluated because his symptoms had gotten worse, we were told very rudely that we were no longer allowed to attend their facility because we chose not to vaccinate.
I tried to explained to Andrea on the phone this morning, that I reached out to local Mom's in Hip Bellevue for help and they recommended other providers at this location that accepted non vaccinated patients. She told me Dr. Ragsdale had banned us completely, so we couldn't see anyone else. I am very disappointed with how this facility handled this. Good luck mamas, just don't question anything they tell you and you'll be fine.

As a new mom, I cannot say enough good things about this doctors office. My newborns doctor is Kylie Cormier and she is amazing. So sweet and funny. I always have 100 questions and she answers them all patiently. The nurses are always very nice and handle my baby with care. I also find relief that the women at the front desk are polite and nice, most of the time in doctor offices that is not the case.
At the hospital, Dr. Paul Heil performed the circumcision and he was very friendly and did a great job. Finally, I LOVE the patient portal. I can ask any question and usually get a response within the day. I have used it to ask a medical question twice which resulted in a response and prescription by the end of the day.

We have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Cormier. We moved to Nashville 3.5 years ago when my wife was already in her third trimester. My wife struggled to find a Pediatrician but Dr. C welcomed us. She's authentic, a real mom and sincerely enjoys kids. She's honestly one of the best physicians I've ever dealt with. Even after moving, we make the drive across town because it's so rare to find someone you can truly trust. Very thankful for her and our children will see her as long as possible.

Dr Betts and his nurses are fantastic! BUT, and I wish I could make the font bigger, the newer staff at the hwy 70 location is HORRIBLE and so rude and uncaring. I had to call to let them know we were there for our appointment and no one answered the calls. I called 6 times with no luck. So I went into the office to tell them and I get yelled at for not waiting in my car because my son has a fever.
When I told them I tried calling she said "you still can't be in here". This was just the tip of the iceberg for me. They have also canceled appointments I made in advance for their wellness visits. If it were not for Dr Betts we would go some where else

Pam a triage nurse I spoke with at old Harding Pediatric Associates in Bellevue was very rude, disrespectful, lacked compassion that a nurse should posses. Most nurses I know have a heart of gold, but this one was a different breed. She treated me with disrespect. Pam, that's her name. Very very rude! Someone needs to teach her some communication skills.

My son LOVES Dr. Smeltzer. He's 3.5 and not afraid to go to the doctor at all, he is happy to go to the doctor because Dr. Smeltzer does everything to be fun and make him comfortable. When I deliver my second baby, the baby will most definitely have him as a pediatrician! Best doctor around. Also, very great facility, excellent nurses, hardly any wait times.

Dr. Cormier is amazing! I love the way she talks TO my children, not above them. She involves them in their well being, creating an interest in living a healthy lifestyle. Of course, she addresses my questions and involves me as well. My husband and I love the authentic nature of this pediatric office and find it refreshing to be listened to and acknowledged as parents.

They do not believe that vaccine injury is possible or exists. My child and I both have a vaccine injury, but under their policy, I would be forced to vaccinate my child, despite the fact that we have a genetic condition that predisposes us to vaccine injury and that I was given a waiver from the Navy so that I would not have to take vaccinations while serving.
If the Navy, the most vaccine-happy institution in the US can give their members waivers when applicable and also recognize the possibility of vaccine injury, there is no excuse for their "doctor's office."

Dr Smeltzer is very knowledgeable. However how he delivers news leaves much to be desired. My son was born on a Thursday. We were discharged from the hospital on Sunday under advisement to see a pediatrician on Monday to check his bilirubin levels for jaundice. After a heel prick we were sent on our way and told we would get a call later with results.
A few hours later I answered a call from the doctor advising me that his levels had spiked from the day before and he was calling Vanderbilt Children's Hospital to let them know we were bringing him into the ER. After 3 hours in the ER, hooking him up to an IV, doing another heel prick, and waiting on results the numbers weren't so high to have driven us to this extreme and we were discharged once again under the advisement of seeing the pediatrician the next day.
We found a new doctor and saw her and we're told his levels were still slightly elevated but they weren't that worrisome that she felt the need to even give us a bili blanket to take home. We were told that if he started to look more yellow to call and be seen again but that he would be ok. Thousands of dollars later my son was fine and the second pediatrician will continue to treat my son for all his further health needs.
