Dr. Hubbard performed a minimally invasive microdiscectomy between my L3 and L4 lumbar. My case was such that the disc herniated into a "free fragment", and by the time I had surgery, the fragment had migrated! So Dr. Hubbard had to go 'find' the fragment, and find it he did. I'm very thankful that he was the surgeon who operated on my spine! I highly recommend Dr. Hubbard.

My friend was referred to Dr wright by the VA. He is a great surgeon. Surgery was an hour or less and he came in to tell family that there was minimal bleeding, surgery went great. After undergoing initial visit in his clinic in Manchester, was told he was going to have to have ACDF surgery because of mod to severe spinal stenosis in his cervical vertebrae. Scheduled a time, office called 9 days before and said we need to change date, we have options for them but none work so pretty much had one day they told us or it would in June.
Not too happy about that but that was the clinic in Manchester. However here in Nashville, the star of the show was our night nurse Shannon Harris! After realizing he was going to have to stay over night, (no one told us until they started moving him like they didn't know ahead of time ) he got moved to 5th floor. Day shift nurses were adequate to say the least. Wasn't impressed with any of them.
Didn't feel like they rounded every hour. Walked to the nurses station in the morning after to let them know that we have to coordinate a ride for him if he doesn't discharge early. I asked do you know the nurse for 23 is and all she says is yes. I guess it's her since she didn't tell me otherwise. The whole group was more interested in chatting and They seemed like they didn't care that we needed to coordinate. professional just not personal. back to Shannon though, she was our night shift nurse and her passion for caring for patients is evident even after 29 years of nursing which she told us was how long she's been doing it.
She could definitely teach the day shift nurses a couple of things. She catered to my friends needs, rounded every hour, and made sure I was comfortable as well. She went above and beyond. She fixed his socks, scheduled his medications so pain control was improved greatly, she did it all. We greatly appreciate her and the great quality of care she provided!

Dr. Hubbard did a 13 hour spine surgery on my husband, for about 15 years my husband was walking completely bent in half, drdvwere we lived told him it could not be fixed We moved to TN and Dr. Hubbard was recommended by a friend. The day after the surgery I walked in my husband's room and he said watch this he was standing up straight and crying.
I am amazed at what the doctor was able to do my husband used to be ashamed to walk in front of anyone now he is walking proud. We can not thank him and his team enough for what they did for him.

My husband recently had back surgery at Howell Allen Clinic. I honestly didn't think places like this still existed. Healthcare at its finest. Everyone, I mean Everyone! was on top of their game. From infection prevention, safety, procedure, seeing us in a timely matter, follow up, collaborating. the list goes on! Ever single interaction we had only served to make the experience on me and my husband, especially, that much easier.
I hope that anyone considering neurosurgery considers your treatment here. So thankful for our referral to Dr. Oran Aaronson, A very kind, thorough and experienced neurosurgeon.

Dr Oshaunney performed a full back spinal fusion surgery on me in 2020. (T2-Sacrum) The surgery and recovery was brutal, but I would do it all over again, as long as Dr oshaunney was performing it. I am 47yrs old and I truly have my old life back, compared to where I was 2yrs ago before surgery. Dr Oshaunney and his staff were there for me beginning to end, and still there if I need them.
He truly cares for his patients and will be honest with you on what he hope to accomplish with surgery. He exceeded my expectations and I wish I had found him sooner. Prior to surgery, my life consisted of constant pain and I withdrew from family, due to fact I couldn't physically function. I now enjoy old hobbies, family, and I am pain free. They prepared me on what to expect from surgery and recovery and it was hard but the best thing I ever did.
If you need a surgeon who handles complex cases, he is your guy. I owe him so much and would recommend him to anyone. I thanked him from the bottom of my heat at my 18month checkup and he told me the best thanks I could give is to share my story. I will always be grateful for him and his staff

I am a little over a month out from a major back surgery. My surgeon was Dr. Brian O'Shaughnessey. Like most doctors offices there is a wait time, this is not the doctors fault. From my initial contact til today I have received outstanding care. I have had multiple surgeries at multiple different facilities and I can tell you by far this was the best facility.

I only used Howell Allen Clinic because Vaughan Allen was such an amazing doctor. Now that he's retired, I wouldn't give you two cents for this place! Like being told that they "know" what medications I'm on, resulting in me actually getting 2/3 LESS pain medication AFTER surgery than I needed BEFORE. Rudest nurses I've ever seen, i.e, being told "Don't expect to sleep HERE, this is a hospital!" Not to mention that these gals don't practice good hygiene; one of them actually brought me an unwrapped sanitary product, from God knows where down the hall, in her bare hands!
And one of the surgical nurses had filthy earrings not covered by her surgical cap - completely caked with soap scum and/or dead skin. Yet they all try to imply that it's us PATIENTS who are dirty. So be smart, and save yourself. Run, if you can; or use your walker or cane as quickly as possible - just get outta there!

Howell Allen Clinic is awesome. After going to another doctor for over 3 years whom just wanted to use a Band-Aid method I was referred to this place yes. We saw Doctor Standard he was extremely nice straightforward and told us that surgery was what we needed. Which is what we knew from the get-go. Everyone at this Clinic was extremely nice and very helpful if we needed anything they were very accommodating. The surgery was performed by dr. Standard and he did an amazing job, and will be doing the lower back surgery soon.

I recently had spinal fusion surgery and I could not have had better care than I did with Dr. Hubbard and everyone who works there. Everything went smoothly and it was a very positive experience. The nurses, physical therapists, and doctors are all top notch. I felt totally confident because everyone took the time to explain everything. There are followup appointments to make sure I am healing well, which is reassuring for me. This is the only place I would recommend for anyone needing spinal surgery!

Big fan of the practice! I'm currently doing PT there and if given the choice, work with Dana. She's a little chatty but a great therapist. The reason for my rating is this. I'm currently seeing Dr, O'shaughnessy. He seems to be a good Dr but every time I see him for an appt, he seems EXTREMELY rushed. After 3 appts, I still have questions.and pain. I'd suggest him but pick a dr that isn't so rushed. The NP, Ms Howell, she's AWESOME. Despite all this, I'd still use this practice, a good bunch of providers!
