This has probably been one of the best experiences with a specialist that I've ever had in my life. This is such a well-run ship it's hard to believe how smoothly everything went. The staff, each and every one of them, was exceptionally kind, gracious, friendly, and helpful. And my appointments were rarely running more than a few minutes behind which is just unheard of in any doctor's office. Granted, my case was fairly simple (a broken foot) and my appointments were usually near the beginning of the day. So it may be different later in the day. But I can't recommend this place, especially Dr. Aarranson, enough.

I have been going to Orthopedic Associates for close to two years and the Dr.'s I have seen, Dr. Pitts & Dr. Mudd are great and always take the time to answer all my questions and give me detailed answers! The staff are always wonderful and very professional, also. I have never had a problem getting appointments within a week. I highly recommend Orthopedic Associates to everyone.

After suffering from low back pain for many, many years, and after multiple injections, therapy, chiropractic treatment, nothing ever seemed to help my pain. I decided to explore low back surgery. After being referred to Dr. Oboynick, I called the office and scheduled an appointment in the fall of 2021. The Doctor took the time to review my case and explained to me my surgical options.

The Doctor used the in office spine model to literally show me the issues, but also demonstrated how the solution, TLIF procedure could help with my severe pain. After making my decision to move forward, I had the TLIF surgery on 2/2/22. At 6 weeks post op, I am happy to say that my chronic pain is very much reduced. Still healing, and so far my expectations for my recovery are right on schedule.

I am now sleeping straight through the night which I hadn't been able to do for years! Two follow up appointments both were timely and the Doctor took plenty of time to answer my questions. I recommend Dr. O'boynick and his team if you need back surgery. Don't wait and suffer for years like I did. Thank you Dr. O'boynick and team!

Up Front: I was Amazed. I highly recommend. Details: I have had plates and screws in my arm for 20 years. I have had no issues with them. A week ago, they started getting painful. After a week of pain, I started calling around. everyone was 2 months out. I called Orthopedic Associates and instead of not even bothering to ask me questions about WHY I was calling to try to schedule an appointment like the other places, they asked questions and wanted to know what was going on.

I explained everything. History, the fact that I was in pain, losing sleep, etc. The person on the phone took the time to speak to a couple doctors there and they got me in the next day (I was lucky, I guess. not saying they can IMMEDIATELY help you like they did me. I expected to wait). The Next day, on my damn birthday, I was in there and the entire staff was so nice it was refreshing and comforting. Got in, waited 12 minutes in the waiting room, took me back, immediately had x-rays taken then escorted to the room. 23 mins later, doc in the room.

If you think about that for a minute, waiting 23 minutes for the x-rays to be processed and looked at by the doc before he came into the room, is pretty impressive. Patrick Sweeney was Awesome. He asked a lot of questions and was very thorough probing history (as I said the plates have been in there for 20 years). He took his time explaining everything in terms regular people understand, not medical/technical mumbo-jumbo.

He wasn't in a hurry to get out of the room to the next patient like I've seen other doctors in the past. My wife was with me, and in the car on the way home, we both talked about how impressed we were with Dr. Sweeney. I highly recommend Orthopedic Associates, and will to any family or friends that need their services. If I could give them 10 out of 5 stars, I would. I attached a picture of my hardware just to make sure you know this is a real review, not some robot/paid kinda thing.

My first visit with Dr. Pitts was so pleasant. He already has a plan for my knees that doesn't require surgery. He explained everything. I went back to my medical office and raved about my experience. We will definitely referring our patients there.

I am overwhelmed at the amazingness of the staff in its entirety at Orthopedic Associates. I could not have even dreamed of being happier with my experience here. From the moment I first called to make an appointment I was treated with respect and was provided with care and concern for my well-being. Dr. Pitts has been nothing short of wonderful from the time he walked in the room at my first appointment. I cannot say enough good things about this facility!

Dr O'Boynick performed an ALIF on my back a year ago. The results have been fantastic. Before the surgery I had limited ability to walk and could only stand for short periods. I am now back to walking 3+ miles per day and have no issue standing for long periods. He did a great job of communicating the procedure and the recovery process and everything went as communicated. I would high recommend Dr O'Boynick.

What I truly appreciated about Dr. O'Boynick is that he listened and understood how I was feeling about my back pain and surgical option. I had back surgery before at a company no longer in business (what a waste of time and energy). Dr. O'Boynick did injections and eventually a fusion that healed on schedule. It never felt like he was trying to rush through my appts and was rarely behind schedule. I can't thank him and his staff enough for giving me my active life back (pun intended) :)

An absolutely wonderful experience, considering the circumstances. The ladies treated me with nothing but kindness and respect. It started with the first young lady at check in, all the way through check out. The attendants in radiology, were great too. Angela was my caretaker, and was very supportive I wish to thank them all for the restoration of my primary thumb.

I'd do enjoy going to orthopedic Associates as I see Dr Hulsey And he is a fantastic shoulder surgeon. He's done for shoulder surgeries for me and they all worked out fine. The new main entrance is open and it is beautiful now. I was seen in minutes it was very fast and the people are so friendly and kind. I recommend this facility to anyone that has orthopedic needs.

I would never recommend this facility. I met with one of the PAs for my initial consult. I was having knee pain and she never really said what she suspected it could be but said my X-rays were normal. She ordered an MRI. They told me it would take 2-3 days for approval. Almost a week and a half went by and it still wasn't approved so I called my insurance.

They said the MRI was denied due to the provider not giving a reasoning for imaging. I work in billing and understand how the authorization process works. This is common sense to give a reason the insurance should approve additional imaging. I called and spoke to one of the medical assistants and was told that the PA was out as was her assistant and I would get a call in 2 days.

The PA wouldn't be back for 1 week. I explained that this was unacceptable considering I was told this process will take 2 to 3 days and here we are over two weeks later. I never received a call back from the assistant or PA. I went elsewhere and they had my MRI approved next day. Don't recommend this place to anyone!

Had a toenail removed there by dr. R Aarunson. Went back Today because part of the toenail was still in there should have been a follow-up because I am having pain from the procedure. I also wanted my other toe fixed. I have been in pain. They forgot to charge me 35.00 for my last visit and I paid it then they wanted another 35.00 for today and I didnt have it she talked to the doctor who said he would not see me then.

I did not need the other toe looked at if it cost.but the toe that had surgury on should have been looked at without cost.disgusting.all the money he makes on a visit and surgery and the oath a doctor takes.about healing and caring and this dr turned me away for 35.00 more dollars.he doesn't care about patients apparently.beautiful home nice car and turned me away for money 35.00.now I'm home crying and in pain.a class act will repost this on Facebook to all my friends and every post I can find.

I am a recent surgical patient and was very dismayed to find no mask mandate in this very busy, very large medical business. The only people I saw with masks on were front desk employees. No patients, doctors or nurses had masks on except me and one other patient. With the Covid variant rampant in Missouri AND transmissible by people even if they are vaccinated this lack of mandate is hard to fathom.

The patients here are a vulnerable clientele; most recent surgical patients. I find this sloppy attitude incredible for a medical facility. I live with an immune compromised child and don't want to pick up and transmit Covid to her. I am scared to sit for hours waiting for my appointment surrounded by patients and staff w/o masks. My doctor wasn't wearing one either.

The doctors there are decent overall, but the workers answering the phones are extremely rude and unprofessional. I have been there many times in the past 7 months, and called today to ask about a recommendation for a chiropractor. Instead of being professional and calmly letting me know they don't suggest this, they instead laughed at my request for help in alleviating pain. What good customer service!

Went to see Dr Burke about knee pain. I get in the exam room and they ordered X-rays. When I get back there the X-ray tech asked if my knee always ground and popped because she was having issues getting it to stay where she wanted. I told her yes and when done went back to exam room. Dr Burke comes in and says knee is bone on bone and nothing can be done.

He said to take turmeric, said unloader brace would probably be a waste of money and wait five years for a knee replacement. He never did do a physical exam or anything. I went to another Ortho doctor and they said a brace would help, turmeric is too late to use with the damage already done and that I don't have to wait for a surgery. I will not be returning and will be getting a knee replacement in a few months.

I am so disappointed in the post op care. After being here several times, I basically get a too bad so sad. I was lied to by the nurse and now do not feel confident going back to this office. I no longer recommend this office.

I got an appointment within an hour of logging in to site to see what was available. The staff was courteous and efficient. I saw the doctor right after getting x-rays taken. He explained what he saw on the films and was able to give me a steroid shot right away. Fantastic experience. Dr. Burke has taken care of several family members over the years and he has always been amazing to deal with.

I'm a Veteran and OA served me very well. Dr. Schmidt is AWESOME, and his staff treated me well too. Somehow one of their team members left and things changed. I was referred to another Doctor, but he refused me treatment. Somehow office communications was lost and I was forced to seek treatment elsewhere. One bad apple has spoiled the the bunch. Please screen your new staff members carefully.

Dr. Mudd and Andrea Hyde are fantastic. Falling in the shower, I shattered my right femur below the hip. Dr. Mudd inserted a titanium rod and several screws to repair the injury. I met with Andrea his nurse practioner numerous times to discuss the xrays and then talked with Dr. Mudd each visitvisit during my recovery. I highly recommend both if you need a surgeon.

I was sent here by work comp for a spine injury. The first Dr. there. Keith Wilkey.was a butcher. Fused me at the wrong level. Dr. Wilkey lost privileges to do surgery everywhere in St. Louis and moved on to butcher elsewhere. Got the hell away from this place and to a good surgeon. Had continued pain and was lured back here by work comp. Sent me to Dr. Paracha who is a pain Dr.

All he did was deny I was in pain, try to sell me on a spinal cord stimulator.eventually i got another mri. It showed I blew another disc. Paracha never even read the mri report. I had to tell him about the new blown disc. Fired him and never looked back. Got a letter today from Orthopedic Associates.saying Paracha had been fired. This place needs to research their Dr's before they hire them.

Setting foot in this place is the worst decision you will ever make. Do your research.never be afraid to challenge a Dr. This place and the bad decisions hiring have greatly impacted my life. Trust me, run.

Dr Hulsey, has known me since a child when my dad went to him for a myriad of health problems. I moved far from STL (thank God) seven years ago. I was on a trip back to see family last year right before my dad died and I'm certain my insurance through Aetna had a fully paid deductible since I had a surgery in New York, plus a 7 day hospitalization.

Sue in billing just sent out a collection notice to my NY address threatening to take me into collections if I don't pay for my X-ray. My insurance Already paid I explained. I also explained I've been paying tons of medical bills from hospitals from my surgery and I'm swamped in bills right now, along with my dad and I having two dogs that moved up here with me once he died.

She found it laughable. I called her out on her nasty attitude as she laughed and she replied "I'm not laughing at you". Little does she know not only am I grieving the loss of my father but I'm trying to make life work in NYC for my family and I. Some people have no compassion and I know Hulsey received plenty of insurance money for our 10 minute visit. so for them to be greedy and nasty after knowing my father and I for so long, shows the caliber of people they are. Don't give them your business. I've had plenty of New York doctors call Aetna to get half of my bills straightened out and sue had nothing more to offer than send me to collections.

So I paid them and they'll never see business from the Rutledge family again. If you're smart, you'll stay away from these doctors. Also, Richard Hulsey did an ACL repair on my left knee when I was 19 years old. I still have problems ten years later with my knee. He obviously didn't do a very good job. Plus he never relieved my dads pain and allowed him to suffer by giving him ridiculous amount of prednisone when he could have just given him a pain killer with less side effects.

Read reviews before you go to any doctor in St. Louis. A lot of awful surgeons there. when I moved to NY I found nothing but the best doctors in the country. That whole city is a disaster.

I had a similar experience to another reviewer. Went in, got X-rays on an injured shoulder. Spent less than 5 minutes with the doctor, who told me that I had a broken clavicle that would heal on its own. And it did. I never went back to the doctor. Then I got a bill for the X-rays, the doctor, and a line that just said "broken clavicle, $850". I called several times to ask what I was being billed for on that line. Asked as plainly as I know how, "what am I paying for here?" "What service was provided".

No one would answer my question. I asked if it was possible that someone made a mistake and entered a code incorrectly. I refused to pay for a service that I did not receive. Now I am having to deal with a third party bill collector that has put a negative strike on my credit report. There are plenty of doctors. Use an office that can explain its charges. Why spend valuable time on this type of place.

I broke my 5th metatarsal bone (little toe) hiking and was referred to this facility by my family doctor after he saw my initial x-rays. I called for an appointment and was directed to see Dr. R Randal Aaranson, who did not have any availability for 7 days. When I got to his office he was rude and chastised me for walking on my foot. It didn't hurt and I was not told by anyone (my doctor or the hospital's x-ray tech) that I needed to stay off it.

I brought my own x-rays but he insisted I have another set ($195). I was instructed to stay off my foot, which I did. A month later I had another appointment, and another set of x-rays ($195). A week later, I received a bill and was charged $242 for the office visit, $323 for a boot (425% of retail) and $952 for a procedure (surgery) I did not have.

I called billing and was told by the manager, after talking to the doctor, that the charge would not be removed. Clearly he thinks he can get away with this. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

I have seen two Dr's. at Orthopedic Associates and have had wonderful experiences both times. The first time I saw Dr. Hulsey and I had surgery on my knee, and I was pleasantly surprised on how smoothly everything went. The only thing is it takes awhile to get an appointment. My second experience was when I broke my elbow, I then saw Dr. Bell and then to I had a wonderful experience. I would recommend Orthopedic Associates to anyone.

I had the fortunate experience of having Dr. Mike Nogalski take care of me and surgery for my knee, torn meniscus. The up front explanation was clear on what needed to be done. I'm still in rehab for the knee and it is going very well, ahead of my expectations and the pain and discomfort is gone. Can't wait to be active again. Thanks Dr. Mike!

Stay as far away from this place as possible. especially Dr. Jason Young and his staff. Their inferior service, coupled with a very misplaced elitist attitude, resulted in the worst decision I've ever made. Six months after a knee surgery I probably didn't need, my knee is worse than it was before I visited this awful place. Like other reviewers, I too was subjected to scheduled surgery that wasn't fully discussed.

I actually had to argue with a woman on the phone, telling her I didn't agree to the surgery yet, let alone set up a time/date. I ultimately trusted Dr. Young, scheduled the surgery, and have regretted it ever since. While I had huge reservations, I previously had back surgery performed by Jason's dad - Dr. Paul Young. I erroneously used this history as a basis to trust Jason. Huge, monumental error. Unfortunately, the apple fell far from that tree. like in another orchard.

While Dr. Paul Young and his staff are outstanding, his son, Dr. Jason Young, and his staff, are the complete opposite. I wouldn't wish their services on my worst enemy. They may as well be running a bank, because all they care about is running folks in and out and printing money. Actually you'd receive much better customer service at a bank. I urge you to find another orthopedic practice. Dr. Jason Young and his staff are the absolute worst.

Dr. Aaranson at Orthopedic Associates in St. Louis was a big disappointment. Having a daughter experiencing severe ankle pain was stressful enough. On our first visit, he gave her an anti-inflammatory that did nothing to help the pain, and he told us to come back in a week if it wasn't better, and he would immobilize it in a cast. So we came back in a week, and he walked in, told us she was suffering from a "pain management syndrome" and told us to google that.

He did NOT even look at her ankle again. He just referred us out to some pain clinic who was not available to take my call. Sick of this, so I took her to a doctor at Childrens who put her in a cast the very next day. She is now pain free. I called to dispute the charge for the 2nd (pointless) office visit, and while the people I spoke with agreed with me about how messed up this was, Dr. Aaranson did not want to reimburse the charge. Amazing.

Updating my review after 2 injections in my C5/C6 (neck) and L5/S1 (lower back) with Dr. Bender. Not only were the nurses for my procedure very kind and patient with my phobia of needles, but Dr. Bender performed the quickest injections that I have had yet. I asked him to do an anesthetic as well (I have panic attacks before these injections) and he had no problem making me as comfortable as possible.

After the injections I had a spinal fusion on my lower back with Dr. Wilkey. This was basically a correction/necessary from a discectomy I had a few years ago(with a different surgeon). I was losing balance and feeling in both legs. Having constant numbness, shooting pains, aching, etc. in my legs, on top of constant lower back pain. I couldn't sleep, or work for periods of time, and I'm 26 years old.

Aside from the initial pain from surgery, and the soreness from healing. My legs are stronger every day, my lower back rarely aches and I'm still healing. I feel so lucky to have found Dr. Wilkey and Amber.

THIS IS A LESSON IN GETTING A SECOND OPINION and to beware of Dr. Young. I recently hurt my leg, to be more precise, my knee, and it was getting worse over time. I made an appt with Dr. Young. After reviewing the MRI, he told me I needed surgery which would buy me another 5-6 years and then I would need a full knee replacement. I was stunned and asked what alternatives there were to surgery.

He told me point blank this was my only option. The surgery scheduler had me booked before I knew it. Literally! Out of the blue I got a message from my local pharmacy with prescriptions for the surgery - before & after - pain meds, the whole bit. Then I get a call from the doctor's office to tell me information in prep for the surgery which was booked for that Tuesday.

I tried to tell the woman there was a mistake. I didn't have an appt but she argued that I did. I finally hung up. Later that day I got a call from the surgery scheduler to tell me I had a surgery date scheduled. I told her I didn't agree to this. Ugh! I couldn't believe how much she tried to argue me into it. After leaving Dr. Young's office, I did some research on my own, got an appt with another orthopedic surgeon at Barnes.

He prescribed physical therapy and this specific exercise program to bring my knee cap back into alignment. He told me this program had a 90% success rate. It has only been few weeks and my knee is getting noticably better. So far the doctor from Barnes still believes surgery is not indicated and the 5-6 years originally told to me was bull. Folks, beware of the assembly line doctors & get a second opinion!

Always receive great and friendly service when I visit. Called a week ahead and was able to get an appointment the following Monday. It's a quick check-in process and can honestly say I haven't been in the waiting room for more than 15 minutes before seeing the Doctor. Dr. Aaranson and his assistant Abby are the greatest. Both are super friendly and take the time to talk to you, explain the conditions, make sure you understand the procedure(s), medications, etc. Saw Dr.

A for the Laser Toe Fungal Removal. It's an expensive procedure and is completely painless. Unfortunately the procedure didn't work for me, but if you have the money and are willing to try it over the medicine or the option to have the nails removed, I totally recommend it. I've had X-rays done here and it was also a smooth and quick process.

My only issue with the place? Medical Assistant Peter. Watch out for him. I had to have my blood drawn and he poked me 4 times & in 20 minutes my arm almost went numb before he called in help. The lady he called in (Dorris I think her name was) had no problem getting the needle right in and had my blood drawn in less than a minute. So if you get paired up with Peter for blood work be prepared for a few pricks before he gets it right, if he ever does. Highly reccommend Dr. Aaronson - Go see him!

BEWARE OF DOUBLE KNEE REPLACEMENT FROM THIS OFFICE! My 70 yr old mother was convinced to have double knee replacement from one of the Dr's in this group. 2 days after surgery a blood clot was found in one of her replaced knees. The correct response was for this clot was not administered and as a result this clot broke loose and traveled to her brain causing a stoke and the complete loss of her speech. The Dr's deny any wrong doing and now we have to file a malpractice suit against them. BEWARE!
