Eye misalignment, called "strabismus" in medical terminology - is a relatively common condition in both children and adults. It occurs when the eyes don't work together well, which causes them to not stay straight. An eye can cross in (esotropia), drift out (exotropia), or wander up higher than the other (hypertropia).
It's not uncommon for the physicians of the Spokane Eye Clinic to order diagnostic testing for a patient. These tests help the doctor to treat and follow the progress of ongoing treatment if there are any eye health issues. Here is a list of the most frequently used testing equipment and the purpose of each particular machine.

I originally had a complication with my appointment, but the Spokane Eye Clinic was able to reach out to make sure that I was all taken care of. That is why I am giving a 5 star rating now. Glad to see that they care to make sure their patients are happy.

So, my experience here was before the great Google. I had cataracts and Pars Planitis as a child (1990-1998) and I had the power duo of Dr. Stephen Maher and Dr. Jerry LeClaire. These two doctors and their staff got me through some of the craziest (and honestly most frightening and hellish) times in my childhood as the Pars was so bad it would cause hemorrhaging and blindness.

I owe my sight to this amazing center, and if this is back then, I can only imagine the great things it's doing now. Fastforward to 2022 and I'm having another eye surgery in Florida and some information in my old chart would be useful, however, currently unavailable. I'm referred to the Surgical Center and am told they would try to look for it. I let them know it isn't necessary as they can just take measurements, it just would have been nice to have the *exact* info.

A couple weeks later and does my request for my chart get forgotten? My comment of, "it isn't necessary" taken seriously? Nope. They found my chart and the info I needed. My ~25 year old chart! And they call me back. Thank you for continuing to take care of me after all this time and even thousands of miles away!

Dr. Kandon Kamae is an excellent eye doctor and a top expert in glaucoma. Plus he is fun and wears Hawaiian shirts. Finding and treating my glaucoma early has preserved my 20/20 vision with glasses and daily eye drops. Regular eye exams are essential to optimal health.

Even though Dr Weed is a pediatric ophthalmologic surgeon (and I am far from a kid!), he has performed two surgeries on my eyes for dipoplia. Every appointment I have had with Dr Weed and his team have been great! Every one of them are friendly, kind, courteous and professional. They go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and understand the process.

This includes all of the staff at their in-house surgical center, as well. What a great group of people! Our sight is very important, and I totally trust placing my care in the hands of the Spokane Eye Clinic. Thank you Dr Weed & team!

This was an excellent visit with Dr. Stone and his staff. After nearly two years of frustration after having Panoptix lenses placed by another provider and having hazy vision that was worsening, Dr. Stone saw the problem immediately and developed a plan of treatment. I am seeing great improvement already. I can't recommend him highly enough! He has a very organized and efficient office staff as well. Kudos!

Had strabismus surgery with Dr. Weed. The atmosphere was awesome and they took me into the pre-op area within 5min of arriving. Nurses were awesome and so was Dr. Weed and the anesthesiologist. They always never hesitated to ask if I was in pain or wanted anything to eat/drink. Best surgery center in Spokane 5/5

Great staff! Awesome attitude & professionalism. Never had to stay for more than an hour, from the time I check into my appointment to the time I leave. Dr Riley is the best! Best Eye Clinic I've ever been to

12/24/22 review - Spokane Eye Clinic has great doctors and top quality care. Why only three stars? Their triage call back system is horrible. When emergency care is needed, you end up leaving a phone message with their triage team. There are no options to speak with a human. It can be days before they call back. This happened several years ago with a detached retina and I'm dealing with the same problem presently with a suspected macular hole. Doctors really are top notch but good luck seeing one in an emergency. 12/26/22 update - Updated my review from 3 star to 5 star. Triage worked much better this round. The system is still based on call backs but the Triage assistant was extremely helpful once the call back came through.

Every person that I interacted with that worked here was very kind, informative, and professional. If you are looking for a new eye doctor, I saw Alan Johnson and he was the sweetest man! He reminded me of Mr. Rogers and I plan to continue to trust him with my care until he retires. Awesome place.

I was referred to Dr. Rory Allar in June of 2019 by my Eye Doctor in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho since they could no longer help me with my glaucoma and macular degeneration issues. First of all, I was impressed with the office. It's impeccably run and every appointment is on time. Dr. Allar did a number of tests and took over my case with deep care.

I had cataract surgery and stents put in to alleviate the pressure and it's working! He has a sense of calm to him. He never makes a patient fearful of losing vision. It's always a good feeling of trust in this man. If this procedure doesn't work, I have always felt he'll help in another way. He'll find the magic solution.

I love visiting him and hearing the (positive results) that are coming forth. Results like this didn't happen at all with my previous clinic. This is like night and day. I feel I am blessed and honored to have met and become a patient of Dr. Allar in life.

I was actually really impressed with this facility. I called and booked an appointment and I was able to be scheduled fairly quickly within 2 weeks. The receptionist on the phone with great and she even had my husband and I scheduled for the same time with 2 different doctors so we would save a trip. The technicians are great and super sweet and very easy to work with. Masks are required to get into the building and before taking the elevator to go to the 5th floor you have To answer screening questions and have your temperature taken.

You are given a green sticker if you pass inspection and then you are sent upstairs. The technicians are cleaning in cleansing everything between patients. All the papers and documents that you have to sign are covered in plastic and cleaned off between patients. There is a longer way for the eyeglass purchasing centre but if you come early enough there is no wait I also did a contact fitting and tech was great. Love this eye clinic.

If you are over 65 do not use this business. I have VSP insurance and because I am over 65 they require that they do a medical exam. Price anywhere from $75-$250. Cannot give an exact quote. "This is our office policy for anyone over 65." In other words you would be better off going somewhere else as they do not honor VSP even though they are a preferred provider.

I'm not really sure what's going on here. Everyone has been nice and that's fine but I have never had such an issue getting the right prescription for my contacts. I usually go to one appt and get my prescription and I'm good to go. I have been here I think 5 times now trying to get my contacts so I can see. Isn't. isn't that the doctors job?

To make sure I can see when I leave? I've had to spend my days off here waiting and it's getting real annoying. I won't be returning once I get my damn prescription correct. It had NEVER in 34 years been such a hardship to get the right prescription.

I had severe double vision and uncorrected astigmatism from a traumatic brain injury in 2008, on top of my near-lifelong near-sightedness. The ophthalmologist at Seattle Children's Hospital and multiple optometrists after that all missed it. Spokane Eye Clinic Valley did an *amazing* job. Dr. Ellis caught the double-vision right off the bat, and was able to give me a prescription for prism glasses that fully correct that, my astigmatism, and my near-sightedness.

Her professionalism, kindness, patience, and knowledge, as well as that of her staff, was quite refreshing. She made sure my prescription was exactly what I needed, and even made the necessary adjustments a month later (commonly necessary with new prism lenses) without charging for the visit. Now I have my 3D vision back, and my double vision is gone! Alongside that, the office staff and opticians are all friendly, professional, and knowledgeable.

They worked with my insurance, and handled everything wonderfully. I cannot recommend Spokane Eye Clinic Valley more highly. Quite simply put, if you have *any* eye troubles, you NEED to see Dr. Ellis. She and her staff are the best of the best in my experience.

My family will not be returning due to the incompetence and condescending attitude of the billing department. Three members of the family work for the same company and have the same insurance plan, which covers vision. They did not bill the vision portion of our plan in two instances, even though we each had our appointments on the same day. When we called to inquire about being billed the full amount we were each given different reasons.

When we checked through our insurance company we were given the solution, but billing refuses to correct the problem or to call the insurance company with their concerns. We have not had issues in the past with other vision clinics. Hopefully by leaving this review I can save others some unnecessary expense and hassle.
