I've been a patient of this office for 2.5 years and have had two appointments. Both times the doctors have been rushed and spoke to me like I was a case to manage and not a human with risk of skin cancer. My most recent experience was last week with Dr. Boyers was quite jarring. She came in the door without knocking and spoke over me, not to me, the entire time.
I didn't feel connected or supported in the process as she recommended taking two biopsies. I agreed because of my skin history but she had already begun processing the treatment before I had time to talk about my concerns with her. She was very professional and I'm sure she is great at her job but it's also important to me that my doctor talks to me with kindness and concern for my general well being.
At the end of the procedure I was still bleeding after they left the room and went out to ask if I could be taken care of. I felt like she dismissed me again by asking her assistant to come help me without making eye contact with me. I understand that is common practice, I just wish that she had taken more time to personalize the experience and make me feel considered in all of it. I switched offices this week and don't normally write reviews like this, but I wanted to voice my concern and experience.

For years I suffered from replicating and recurring actinic keratosis and squamous carcinoma. Several months ago Dr. Lindsay Boyers put me on a treatment that has arrested these recurrences! It also dramatically improved my skin texture. She is thorough, pleasant and radiates competence. I'm thankful, grateful and highly recommend doctor Boyers and her staff. P.S. Since the 80's I've had only good experiences with doctors, PA's, nurses and staff at the BMC. It's a great facility IMO.

I loved my recent experience at BMC dermatology. I have very fair skin and have had a fair share of sunburns over the last few years. I was able to not only express my concerns, but I walked out feeling so relieved. Dr. Boyers was extremely thorough! She checked throughout my scalp and even looked between my toes! Also, both her and her assistant did a fantastic job addressing all my questions and recommending daily sunscreen brands. They even provided me with several samples to try! I will 100% be recommending this dermatology office to all my family and friends.

Terrible communication. They never pick up their phone, are often closed, completely failed to communicate aftercare instructions with me before a surgery (I ended up being completely unprepared, the doctor also only took about 1 minute before surgery to actually discuss the need for surgery with me), have not made follow up calls or appointment confirmation calls, and on one occasion completely failed to schedule an appointment I confirmed over the phone. Find a different dermatology office.

Dr. Hong has told his staff "April" who answer the phone and book appointments for him to tell patients that if they do not have the insurance that he prefers then he will not see you even if you do a private pay. Extremely rude and pompous staff. I was able to schedule a private pay appointment with no problems with a different dermatologist in Boulder and much more friendly than dr. H. I will never visit Dr. Hong again or refer anyone I know to him.
