Formerly known as Contract Health Services, Purchased/Referred Care (PRC) is a benefit to Alaska Native and American Indian people that provides funding for referred medical services not available at the Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC). Following ANMC PRC's policies and procedures may allow us to assist with the cost of medical services received from non-ANMC facilities and providers. In an emergency, seek medical attention first and then notify PRC as soon as possible, ideally within three days.
We care deeply about the well-being of our patients, their families, and loved ones. To reduce risk of infection and exposure, we are limiting visitors in our inpatient units and emergency department.
Remember how food used to be served in hospitals? Trays were brought to patients at set times - often not what they wanted and served whether or not they were hungry. I was seen in the ER for over 10 hours and was released had to go back they didn't help with any pain relief at all. I suggest people go to different hospitals if they are in severe pain.

WORST PLACE EVER! I had major surgery and started having the worst calf pain. I was told it takes a couple of days for a blood clot to form the first day they checked in ER. The next day it was worse, so I went back to the surgery clinic. I was told by a Sr. Surgeon, "It was just a coincidence my leg would hurt like that after major surgery. Go home and take IBU, I'd be surprised what it would do for me." Apparently, I just wanted pain medicine.

The next day worse! Went to my Dr. to be told I was maybe having a muscle spasm or cramp. But she couldn't do anything for me because it was a surgery issue. The next day, I couldn't walk, my calf was swollen, I massaged it for hours, bawling my eyes out and finally went to the ER. Again, I was treated like a drug addict, but I was persistent and they drew my blood to, "make me happy" and lo and behold my blood coagulation was doubled the normal amount.

I was told that is a sign of a blood clot to go home since ultrasound left for the night and watch for signs of the blood clot passing through my body, "since it can cause death." I was first in line the next morning, since I showed up early. I was told to wait in the lobby. She came out 10 minutes later and said I needed to go directly to the ER to start treatment for a blood clot.

I have never been in there asking for a pain pill. I almost died because they're medical staff were too busy putting a stereotype on someone cause they said the word pain. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE PLACE! IF YOU CAN GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO!

They were very un professional and the nurse did not give a darn about my care. That was the first time I ever left without getting my discharge papers. I walk out could not take it anymore.

I have been dealing with the facilities at this campus for years now and have enjoyed and appreciated my experiences. Others have had grumbles about there service but my own personal experiences have been appropriate, timely and professional. I like going here and will continue to do so for years to come. Thank you ANMC.

So amazed at this new building. I was just crying and crying how beautiful to see the pride (in a good way)(opposite of shame) with all the native art and it is so beautiful! Thank you Lord!

I would not trust the orthopedic docters here at all. I have a broken libia with a torn ligament that supports my ankle and they refuse me any pain mangenent. I am stuck suffering cause all I can take is tyelnol and I am losing sleep as a result which is essential to heal. I am also due for surgery monday and it baffles me due to the neglect I am getting as a patient. Will be suing but at all costs go somewhere else where they have better expertise and remorse for patients.
