I have used Berland for years for my mammograms. They are quick and efficient and I usually never have to wait. This year I owed a small bill which I received in the mail. It comes with the website to pay your bill online and a billing phone number. After numerous attempts to pay the bill online to no avail I called the phone number. I'm informed that they don't do the billing for Berland any longer and they did not have a number for me to call.
I called the center directly and was told that they've been trying to get the owner to take that off of the billing statements but it hasn't been done yet. She gave me a number to Change Healthcare to call to make payment. Over 2 to 3 days I called that number and finally got a hold of someone who said that Berland doesn't take credit cards that you have to mail a check in, she didn't know why they told me to call them.
I explained that my health savings account doesn't have a checkbook tied to it and she apologized. I called Berland back and asked to speak with a manager. Kurt came on the line and I explain the situation. He said he apologize for that but normally people don't owe bills, the insurance covers it. I said well in a case like this how am I supposed to pay if I don't have a checkbook.
He basically said he didn't know what to tell me. In this day and age how can you run a business and not accept payments electronically, plus they don't even tell you up front! Fantastic customer service right there!

Dr. Seelig, Kurt and Diana I can't thank you enough for making me feel so comfortable at my appointment! I was a nervous wreck and you all were so kind and comforting to me! You held my hand and walked me through every step of the procedure and I just can't thank you enough for how wonderful of an experience this was! I will highly recommend you to everyone I know!
