Founded in 1946 by four local physicians who understood the importance and advantages of a group practice, The Baton Rouge Clinic remains dedicated to continually improving patient care while meeting the changing healthcare needs of our community. Over the years we have grown to offer a comprehensive range of top quality healthcare services for the entire family - from infants through geriatrics.
In addition to outstanding primary care, we offer a wide array of specialized clinical services, from dermatology to neurology, endocrinology, sleep medicine and surgical services - just to name a very few.

Services
In 1946, four physicians returning from World War II established The Baton Rouge Clinic. Our founders, Drs. Cheney Joseph, Gerald Joseph, Joe Sabatier, and Mortimer Silvey attended Tulane Medical School together and worked together as residents at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. The idea of a group practice, especially a multispecialty practice, was a new concept at that time.
We have combined the latest medical equipment, technology and treatment options with a staff of highly skilled medical professionals who have dedicated their lives to caring for patients and their families. And just as importantly, our team is committed to providing compassionate care and treating each patient with dignity and respect at all times.
We believe that successful organizations are driven by strong values. As such, The Baton Rouge Clinic has established a set of values that guide our organization and define our culture. As active members of our community, we strive to uphold the following values every day and in all of our endeavors.
One of the biggest reasons we started going is because I felt like the quality of care would be superior. To me, they make you feel like family. I've gotten to know several nurses there, and they always add that personal touch. Dr. Cooley is funny and can lighten the mood even when you aren't feeling well.

I am never disappointed at Baton Rouge Clinic. The doctors are so caring and work hard to provide options for my care and follow best practices. I feel safe and well cared for. The support staff are also exceptional. I can be a real pest and I can hear the smiles in the voice of the person who is moving my appointment for the third time. I can't imagine going anywhere else.

This was my first time going to The Baton Rouge Clinic. The First Lady I met that took my information when I went to the back greeted me with kindness. The doctor came in and greeted me and was very straightforward with what was going to happen. She was very nice. A guy came in with the prepping tools after the doctor left out. He didn't say anything to me.
Not a hello or anything. It seems he was trying to avoid a conversation. When the doctor came back in there you could tell the guy that brought the prep tools was uncomfortable. He avoided eye contact. He had his head down, and was behind the doctor the entire time. I wasn't sure if it was my presence that bothered him or if he is just not a peoples person. I didn't want to judge or put too much thought into it. I just know it was a bit uncomfortable for me.

Everyone was so nice at the Baton Rouge Clinic. Doctors office was easy to find. Receptionist was really friendly and sweet. The nurse (Mrs. Cindy) was great and easy to talk to. The doctor (Dr. Linda) was excellent. She was easy to talk to, could ask her any questions. Explained every to me in detail. Would highly recommend.

My check in was easy and fast. After about a 15 minute wait l was called to the back to see my doctor. After the nurse took my vitals the doctor came in about 2 minutes later. Dr Penn is very friendly and he takes his time to explain everything. He answers all your questions and does not rush you out the door. Overall my experience was good.

BRC is convenient for most medical services in one place. E-check in and their phone app makes it easy to access. The only negative I've come across, is the experience at payment - while the employees are polite & businesslike, it wouldn't kill them to crack a smile and be a bit more pleasant to patients who may not be feeling their best. Nowadays it's all about the experience!
As for my doctor there, Dr Meredith Rouse is the the most attentive internist I've ever chosen. She doesn't affect that superior attitude that some doctors assume, but uses her education and knowledge to explain alternatives and works with me to decide the best course for my health.

Thanks for ALL of the EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL service that I have received by ALL of the staff at the Baton Rouge Clinic. I'm referring to every employee that I've ever encountered, at the Clinic, over the past 47 years. Now mind you that I've dealt with medical institutions all across the country, from New York to California and the service that my family and I have received here are nothing short of exemplary, in every and All aspects and in each and all disaplines of medical services possible.
I just can't believe that this clinic is able to provide such consistent medical care. I am pleased with ALL and Every aspect of care my friends and family members have received here. I, for one, am so very pleased to be able to continue to be a patient with such a comprehensive medical clinic, with so very many medical service's offered at one convenient location.

Horrible. Ultraconservative. Dont go here if you are a woman, Black, LGBTQIA. No gynecologist on staff. You will be "tone policed", expect to be dismissed/excused and stripped of autonomy if you are a female patient. I have to repeat appointments and myself before I am heard/properly diagnosed. My tailbone almost ulcerated though my skin, I had to RESHEDULE a second appt and scream at my Southern Gem DR to actually "look" at my awful female anatomy.
It was painful and required antibiotics. No gynecologist? Almost three years at this practice and my MD hasn't even referred me to where I "could/should" go and I just moved to the south. Standard males can get full medical care here. As per usual if a mean speaks once they are heard, not "crazy/malingering." I spoke with admin about it, apparently asking if the administration was "conservative" and had issues with "vaginas" was considered "swear words" and I got hung up on.
If women can NOT get full equilateral medical whole body care here, or be heard, then WOMEN, TAKE YOUR BODY AND INSURANCE ELSEWHERE. WE DESERVE BETTER. THIS PLACE IS a patient THEY JUST WANT $$$$$ THEY DONT CARE ABOUT #HEALTHCARE

Baton Rouge Clinic you need to make renovations! If this review was based on the physicians I've seen here I'd give it 5 stars but I'm basing this simply on the upkeep of the facility itself. First off the restroom facility's are old and for the amount of people that comes thru the doors of this huge clinic the bathroom faculties are a joke. It's not cheap to see any of the many specialists whose offices are here.
I have two different doctors here myself one on the 1st floor and 1 on the 3rd floor and it costs me plenty to see them and I'm just saying update the bathrooms and enlarge them and for goodness sake CLEAN THEM. It looks old and worn on the interior and is in need of refurbishing.

Dr. Catherine Katzenmeyer at Baton Rouge Clinic is an amazing pediatrician. We have been going to her for 9 years. She is so patient and understanding. The nurses have helped me so many times over the phone. When Dr Katzenmayer isn't in the office they always refer us to another awesome pediatrician in the group. I appreciate this kind of service and I feel great knowing my kids are being well taken care of.

The clinic gets a 3 star for its cleanliness and the office staffs courtesy. The parking is really bad and the fact that people were parked in NON parking spaces made it even harder. Our appointment was for 9:30 and even though we arrived much earlier the lot was almost full! The building itself is nothing fancy on the inside. It is a nice office but the waiting room was very drab.
It had a bunch of toys for kids but I would have expected a much more welcoming waiting area for a pediatric neurologist. It was just the opposite. Luckily we were not in it for very long. Our appointment was with Dr. Schexneyder for a check up for my great niece. She was a friendly woman but I was not happy with the appointment over all. She had not seen my great niece in over 6 months but she seemed to already have her suggestions before she ever examined her.
I had several questions for her and she seemed annoyed that I had looked up the tests already and was questioning why she wanted to go that route. It was left up to me to suggest and EEG which she proclaimed "That is a great idea - I could have one done." I do not like it when doctors jump into doing the most expensive tests when there are other avenues that can be tried and with this doctor I felt she was just about running up the bills. As I told my niece she is the parent but I would be getting a different doctor.and so we are.

My daughter has been going to the Baton Rouge Clinic since she was 3 weeks old.she is now 4-years old. Although I do not like to visit the clinic unless it is totally necessary, I have always received great service here. The group of pediatricians we belong to is amazing! Even when my daughter's regular doctor is not there, we are always referred to her colleague that is equally as good.
The level of care that we have received here has been the best I have ever seen. It is so nice to see a group of doctors in what is an HMO setting to be as helpful and attentive as the Baton Rouge Clinic. My daughter's pediatrician group has been nothing short of excellent! We have always been able to schedule appointments convenient to our schedule and are seen immediately, when we come in for our visit. Thank You!
