Since 1994, Palmetto Gastroenterology has set a standard in Columbia, South Carolina in consultative gastroenterology and hepatology as well as diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. We maintain an in-office endoscopy suite. This makes it very convenient for our patients. They are able to have their procedures done by our able team and physicians in the comfort of our office.

I don't know why people left bad reviews based on a lack of coffee or how other people behaved in the waiting room. There are covid-19 precautions in place, and hand sanitizer all over the place. Masks are required. My husband couldn't go back with me. I was able to video call my husband when I talked to the doctor so that he could weigh in on my health care decisions.
All of the staff are professional, compassionate, and helpful. The nursing staff is very experienced and happy at their place of work. It has been my experience that a happy nursing staff is an indication of a healthy workplace. The anesthesiologist went above and beyond to provide a comfortable atmosphere. I appreciated the mood music. Dr. W is thorough, and doesn't guess at a diagnosis.
His bedside manner is excellent. He communicates professionally, and in a no-nonsense way, but still manages to come off compassionate and caring. Payment plans and financing are available for procedures when out-of-pocket expenses have not been met.

No coffee or water for waiting room for friends or family of the patients getting the colonoscopy. Waited an hour past the time to go in. Signs all over the place saying what you CANNOT do instead of catering to the patients and family. Kept asking people if they brought their paperwork. Nobody had paperwork and some had not been given anything. Need some customer service training.
