Eight weeks ago, I started the medical diet that Dr. Skye Goldin suggested. It is working and I feel great! After eight weeks (including a week on vacation) I have lost 25 pounds and, for the first time in decades of dieting, have found a true life-style change that I can sustain! I've tired weight watchers, atkins, scarsdale, etc. and while I did loose weight on all of them, I gained it right back.
With Dr. Skye Goldin's diet and encouragement, I believe I will reach my goal in a few more months and be able to maintain the weight. If you are considering making a real change and losing your weight for good, work with Dr, Skye Goldin! She is supportive and knowledgeable which is really important to me because I did not want another "loose weight quick and put it back on quicker" diet. With her diet, I know I am not doing any damage to my body and am losing fat - not just pounds. I am healthy and winning my battle with the bulge!

I am a patient of Tara Skye Goldin, Naturopathic Doctor, in Boulder, Colorado. I wanted to share with others the wonderful results that I gained by doing the Ultra Lite Diet Program under her supervision. I had gained 16 pounds following a foot injury, felt bloated, depressed, and not very motivated to go back to Weight Watchers. In somewhat desperation, I asked her if I could do her weight loss program.
I have never done a supervised weight loss program, and was also curious what it would be to get off all grains for awhile. I lost 16 pounds in 2 months, and during that time I did not experience cravings and my appetite got much smaller. I enjoyed the experience, as I was eating three good meals a day, along with the packets of whey powder that helped to stabilize my blood sugar.
I was able to lose the weight steadily, even though I was not able to exercise much. After two weeks the joint pain I was having went away, as well as my abdominal bloating and gas. I have not gained this weight back since then, (five months), even with some sugar and alcohol creeping back into my diet. Normally after a weight loss, the weight would be slowing returning!
I feel much better without the high glycemic carbohydrates in my diet. I occasionally have grains, but my daily diet still consists of lean protein, vegetables, nuts, fruits, and some dairy. I think it is a really great diet, because it teaches people about the effects of elevated blood sugar due to excess carbohydrates in our diets, and how to easily switch to a better ratio of fat, protein and carbohydrate.
I feel really satisfied on this diet, and know that I have found an important key to keeping weight off and improving my health. I am motivated to stay on this diet, because it will keep my joints happy, my energy and mood higher, and my body mass leaner. Having the supervision with Tara was really useful, as we could talk each week about health challenges I was having, and how to make the diet work for me.
She was really supportive and encouraging, and documented the changes that my body was making each week in terms of weight and inches lost.
