I went to another place in town and was treated like I was a number. Left that place and tried Academy of Dermatology and I am SO grateful I did. The staff and Dr. Johnson went above and beyond and I felt like I was heard. I wasn't rushed through my appointment and there wasn't a crazy wait. Dr. Johnson has been in the business for some time - he knows what he's doing and what he's talking about. It's worth it to come here if you want to feel seen and heard and well taken care of.

Felt very disrespected by the Dr. The whole time. I had my daughter with me (after asking when scheduling if it was ok and was told it was) and he was was visibly irritated I had my (very quiet, very well behaved) daughter with me. I almost got up and walked out but a nurse convinced me to stay. I am even more annoyed after received my bill after not being told that insurance doesn't actually cover the cost and I was billed almost $200. They should have given an estimate of costs before performing service.

Dr. Johnson is the warmest, most interested, experienced dermatologist in Colorado Springs! He devotes the time necessary to assure a correct diagnosis! You can be sure he'll devote the same to you! If you're in a hurry, and don't appreciate the necessary diagnostic attention, go elsewhere! Thank you Dr. Johnson and staff!

My daughter has suffered from white patches on her face and body for months. It took me begging her pediatrician to refer to me a dermatologist and we get sent here per my request because I heard only good things about them from my own patients and friends. I made the mistake and entered her appointment date wrong, I'll take responsibility for that.
I reached out and tried to reschedule her appointment but they told me its not in their policy to reschedule appointments. I understand every place has policies because I work in a specialty clinic but this is how you miss out on business. Now my child is still suffering and we have to schedule another appointment with her PCP & wait to get a referral to another place. I will not be recommending this office to anyone after what happened today.

I've been going here for a little over a year now even when their office is quite far from me. The doctor is great he is quick and he made sure he met my skin care needs. However, I've never had an issue with the staff until now. I've been having appointment issues and i ended up missing 2 appointments. The 1st appointment was missed because of ride issues however I did call to reschedule.
Upon rescheduling I was treated as if I was irresponsible for having to reschedule granted it was my fault but show some empathy to your patients with ride issues! Now with every appointment I scheduled I get an automatic appointment reminder however the 2nd appointment was missed because I never received any type of reminder so I called and explained multiple times the incident and was only informed by front desk staff that manager would have to approve me still going to them due to "policy".
Which the website doesn't list the appointment policy so I felt like I was being discriminated. I have been a loyal patient and I always made sure I arrived to my given appointments but 2 missed appointments really? The staff hung up on me after me informing them that I never received an alert no empathy nothing. Poorly treated! I hate to leave my dermatologist doctor cause he was great and one of the nurses was lovely. But after this experience I'm going elsewhere.

Every person at the office is pleasant and friendly. They made sure I knew the location of the office and setting up an appointment was easy. They are one of the few places in town that accept my insurance and I am forever thankful for their help on my journey to clear skin. Dr. Johnson was the first dermatologist I have seen that did not give me the run around about my medication options. Thank you!

Went in for a preventative examine. Staff were friendly and helpful. However, Waited 40 min to get a room and another 10 min before seeing the Dr. Once Dr. Came in, it was about a 3 min interaction, Dr. Seemed rushed and wanting to move to the next patient as soon as possible. I've heard dermotology offices around the city are all like this, but doesn't mean it should be the norm.
