If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I went here in 2016 for a viral infection (flu) and was not keeping anything down. I waited in the ER waiting room all night and was sent home with no treatment. I ended up going to a different doctor at a different hospital and they told me that I came right on time, and that it was negligence the previous hospital (jackson) did not do any treatment. My flu was pretty bad and had to administer IV. Ever since then, I have never stepped foot in Jackson hospital.

I've always enjoyed coming here. It's a mid-size hospital with all of the specialties. Radiology Department treats you like family, and it's very easy to get outpatient x-rays. Also, it's very convenient, being closer to the interstate (I-85). Also, very caring and kind nurses work there. They have always treated me and my family with kindness and respect.

The ER is busy, particularly at night. But, it seems a lot of the people in the ER didn't have emergencies, and could go to a regular doc. We've always been able to get into the hospital without any difficulty.

I had a worst experience with Jackson Hospital. The doctors are horrible. I went to my family physician for a testicular swelling. He recommended me an ultrasound, I did that. The report shown it as a benign testicular moss. Then he referred to Dr. Himanshu Agrawal suspecting it as an infection. Once, I visited Dr. Agrawal the real story started. He tried to scare me all possible ways stating its a cancer. he convinced me although it's not in the ultrasound report, 80-90 per cent chances it's a cancer.

He advised me to remove it (orchiectomy) which is a minor surgery and it didn't have much impact, even I could work after a day's rest (Which was a complete incorrect statement. I needed a bed rest for a week). He also suggested for another ultrasound as the current ultrasound might not be correct, which I denied. Finally, I scheduled for surgery.

For a second thought I checked with my Indian doctor who advised me to get a beta marker test prior to surgery. In case beta marker is positive then it's a cancer and needs removal otherwise not. Then I insisted Dr. Agrawal to order beta marker test. He order the test well ahead of time but did not think that's important to discuss on the report with me.

The test was negative. Even, he didn't disclose the result a day before the surgery. I could avoid the surgery even I would get the result a day before. Went through the surgery. He didn't remove it, but did something with it and drained the liquid. Went through a month of pain and suffering. After which I noticed a lump on the same testicle is still left and the other testicle started getting the same issue.

Again scheduled an appointment with Dr. Agarwal and till then it has been four months, many consultations, tests and reports but no medication, no cure. Now, also he says it's a cancer whereas all reports are contradicting. It's totally worthless. I felt it like he was not giving me any treatment instead he was doing research on me with my money. Finally, I decided to stop consulting him.

I am still getting bills from Jackson hospital for many services he ordered. These guys just want you to be a regular patient instead of cure. However, would say nurses and other staffs are good.

The doctors and nurses were wonderful. But the white old lady with glasses sitting at the doors to get a badge to come in the hospital is rude and gives false information. Java coffee shop lost my business because of this woman. Need to get her away from front door.

Are you considering trusting this facility with someone you love? Please read about our experience in March. I have an aging family member with Parkinson's disease, who fell and hurt their back. Their first thought, was that they had actually broken their back. They could not stand up, sit down, walk, or move in any way without help. They complained of pain worse than child birth.

The Doctors at Jackson gave her an X-ray, said nothing was broken, gave her opioids, and refused to keep her at the hospital, even after she had paid for an ambulance to take her there. She lives BY HERSELF, and sending her home without help would have been a death sentence. We took her to Baptist East, and within two hours, they identified that her back WAS BROKEN.

She had a compound fracture in her L1, one of her back bones had all but shattered. If you care about your loved ones, don't deal with potential malpractice at Jackson. Please, take your loved ones to a hospital that cares as much as you do.

The room my mother was in had a broken faucet on the sink inside her room. The faucet would not turn off or on. Nothing was ever done about it the whole time she was there and something was said about it.

Their parking garage is horrible. There is no security patrolling. Two of the three handicapped parking near the door was taken up by cars with no handicap plate or placard. Why would you have only three handicap spots near the door to the breeze way. My husband who is on oxygen and has a rare muscle disease had to walk down two flights of stairs because the freaking elevators were not working.

No care for the patients. Had to check in for surgery at the ER because the mane building was closed for the night. 8 hours later we were still waiting in an ER room with no control over the temperature. Got a sinus infection as a result of being so cold for so long. At one point a nurse decided he was in a hurry so started snatching our personal items and flinging them in a bag because HE was in a rush. After that little display we still had to wait over an hour for surgery and NEVER got a room.

My mother needed emergency care a couple of days ago, and the nurses there were so kind and thoughtful to her in making sure she was comfortable. They ran an MRI and CT scan to see what was wrong with her. These nurses are amazing. The only one thing I didn't like was not being able to switch out with my brother due to the COVID rules. As much as I hate it, I do understand why that rule is still in place. Hopefully it can be dropped soon, and we can get some sense of normalcy again.

ED nurses, doctor, and front desk were all professional and patient. My 7 year old was brought here by EMS with neurological symptoms back in December and the care was excellent. They knew what they were doing and played a vital role in my child's care before transferring to children's. Thank you all!

I had my first born son here during October 2021. The entire experience was amazing. Every employee, nurse, tech, doctor, treated me with kindness. There was adequate information given on everything I needed to know, from breast feeding, to my prescribed pharmaceuticals, limits on what I can / can't do over specific periods of time, and more. The breakfast, lunch, and dinner were outstanding as well. THANK YOU Jackson Hospital for making what was initially an ideally scary experience for me, a wondrous one instead. I am truly grateful.

You're probably going to die if you have to go here. If you need medicine: good luck. If you need a doctor: they do not have any. I'm not engaging in hyperbole. You will not receive treatment. I was told that explicitly.

I had the most terrible experience at Jackson hospital. I went into the er for a simple allergies reaction to hair dye. I have to say the nurses were nice and hospitable, but the Dr on the other was the worst physician I had ever had the displeasure of coming across. This man was so rude and inhospitable. I hope he never has to deliver any bad news to a patient.

His bedside manner was sh*t. You could clearly look at the swelling on my face and see that I was having an allergic reaction. I stated to him repeatedly sir, I'm having a allergic reaction to bad hair dye, this has happened before. This man looks me square in my face, told me to turn my head and judging from hives on the back of my neck, told me I had shingles. Shingles!?!? Shingles people.

And simply left the room without another word. The nurse came back in and I said to her, I'm pretty sure this is and allergic reaction and she goes well I'm sorry about that take some benadryl every six hours and hands me a prescription for an antiviral. After leaving there I promptly went to Baptist South where I was properly treated with a steroid shot and a pepcid injection which counteracted the reaction and gave me some relief, cause by that point I was developing a huge lump in my throat.

Imagine what might have happened had I taken what that other Dr said and gone home with a damn shingles diagnosis. I could have died from an allergy. I implore anyone to stay away from this shite hospital if you value your life.

The billing department is terrible. We received a text message with a link which didn't work. The bill was $62 after insurance. They never called us, nor did we receive a paper bill for two months. I tried multiple times to login in with the link contained in the text. About two months later, we finally got a paper bill. I used the account information given to log into the website provided.

It wouldn't allow me to go forward with the payment. After trying multiple times over the course of a month or two, I pushed it off. 6 months later we get a letter from a lawyer's office stating we owe $62, which we did owe. I paid it in full the day after I received the letter in the mail. The lawyer never added it to my credit report thankfully.

If you are paying people in your billing department to do a job, make sure they do it. Pick up the phone and call people. The money you spend keeping a lawyer on retainer could've been used much more wisely than for a $62 bill you never called us about.

My experience with Jackson hospital has always been nothing but great but I went in the other night for coughing and shortness of breath and two of the nurses were extremely rude and I am waiting for results of a covid test and the two nurses which I could clearly hear them talking about me they basically laughed my symptoms off and said said I had schizophrenia and I would like to say again that this hospital has always been great to me but bit I just can't get past these two nurses talking and running their mouthes and they knew I could hear them which makes it more aggravating

Yes I'd like to thank Jackson Hospital for killing my Uncle.the so called doctors have a brain the size of RICE.and the nurses all have attitudes and hate there jobs they never smile and all have cry faces. Who sends a patient to Rehab who desperately needs a ventilator, has C-DIFF, Pneumonia, and fluid in his lungs, and had a prior heart attack about 5 days before being sent to Rehab I'll tell you who Jackson Hospital does and there excuse was WE NEEDED THE ROOM SPACE.There is a God and there will be Justice.this hospital needs to shut down for good.

I Advise nobody and I mean no body to ever Enter this Crap Hospital.oh and not to mention back in February they put my uncle in a 10 day coma by so called ACCIDENTALLY giving him to much Antibiotics.all this hospital does is use up peoples Medical Insurance to put money in there pockets and perform procedures that doesn't have anything to do with the situation / problem. Jackson Hospital should be ashamed of having a title as a Hospital.

On January 29, 2020 my mother experienced a heart attack and was admitted to Jackson Hospital. While there one doctor told her she did not have a heart attack, while another the "cardiologist" told her that she did. While on my way to the hospital my mother asked for me to bring her a burger which I questioned, however the nurse (trained professional) deemed it appropriate.

Since the nurse told me this was okay I chose to believe her. After this I looked at the board in her room and written on it was "cardiac diet", let me tell you now that a burger from Burger King is not on a cardio diet. After being discharged from the hospital no after care instructions were given and she was told to contact her personal cardiologist next week.

It is unprofessional, and dangerous to put the care of a heart attack victim into the hands of google and untrained medical professionals. However it seems the "medical professionals" of this hospital are incapable of providing adequate care. I would highly suggest avoiding this hospital if you are looking for well trained medical professionals who look out for the well fair of their patients. I would give this hospital zero stars if I could.

My elderly father had what is normally a routine back operation yesterday at Jackson Hospital, and I can only say that I am appalled and disappointed by the horrible service provided. Time will tell as to the effectiveness of the surgery. Firstly, the procedure was delayed by at least 3-1/2 hrs due to an "emergency" with another patient. Everyone can understand prioritizing, but with everything else I wonder if it was truly an emergency or sloppy scheduling by the hospital.

Keep in mind that we're talking about an 88 year old man with severe Parkinson's and the beginnings of dementia. Then, a 45 minute procedure turned into hours, and at no time before, during, or after the procedure did the doctor or any staff update my poor and sickly mother in the waiting room. Hours went by, and my parents' driver eventually approached the desk to get info.

I don't have his first name, but the neurosurgeon was a Dr. Miller. I'm certain that Alabama is no different than Texas in that updates are given to the family in the waiting room. This hospital is a joke in my estimation. My mother spent the night there with my father, and has complained about the lack of attendance. I'm not sure if the doctor has even shown his face until now, but that kind of behavior is disgraceful. Next time, I will be certain that we go to UAB, which was excellent in all respects and very professional. I lost all faith in and respect for Jackson Hospital!

Yelp really needs to let us add a zero star. The doctors have absolutely no bedside manners. They definitely are not willing to go above and beyond to try to save anyone. They are lazy and just want to do the least amount of work. Proper care was not provided for my brother. He came in here twice and both times they did very little and showed us no signs of hope. Had we taken him to another hospital, he may have had better odds.

All staff need to learn how to speak and deliver messages to patient families. Go to a different hospital, even if you have to drive to birmingham or Atlanta. I never wish for anyone to have to go through what we went through.

This is the worst hospital ever. The doctors don't give anyone hope. They told us our family member would not survive upon arrival. He survived. Doctors need to be compassionate. Doctor R violated patient confidentially. The nurses are even worse. The insensitive rude lady at the icu waiting room should go into another profession. She has no need to be around grieving people.

The nurse who intubated was completely horrible and rude. Don't bring your loved ones here. This is where people go in and come out in a body bag. They are lazy and even spending money does not make them do anything. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

Absolutely the worst level of care I have ever received. Very poor billing procedures, very subpar doctors, and the front desk is just horrible. 2 misdiagnoses, erroneous billing, and a sloppy surgery on my neck that left an ugly scar and HOLE in my neck. I am referring to Jackson Clinic and the Drs Bldg and the surgery center. The incompetence is just mind boggling.

This past weekend, my stepfather was brought to ER from a nursing home via a rural hospital. We met ambulance at ER and they told us to have a seat and they will calll us back when he has an ER room available. After almost 2 hrs I asked them what his status was (by the way, he has Alzheimer's) and they said, "He be in an ER room, and just who are you?" After getting them straight on us being his family and still waiting, we went to his ER Room and they were just starting to take him upstairs to admit to a regular room.

Two days straight I asked when the cardiologist was coming by and the reply was, "sometimes she comes by late afternoon after she is done with her regular patients." I guess you could underline the "sometimes" quote. Also said they would let me know his status, etc. Well, they never did. Nurse tells me on Tues. that she does not know anything about him because she is doing med dispense at that moment and would have to look at his chart since he is unfamiliar to her, but she tells me he is resting comfortably, eating, etc (pretty good considering you are not familiar with him and know nothing about him). shortly before 4:30 pm I get a call ( I am at home 60 Miles south) from his hospital case manager telling me that a cardiologist has okayed discharge, and he has been discharged/awaiting transportation, and Haynes Ambulance is taking him back to nursing home (said was surprise to her because she had received nothing on him saying he had been discharged). It's now 8:45 pm and nursing home tells me they asked the hospital his whereabouts at 7:30 pm and they are told he is still waiting for Haynes Ambulance to show up. Finally, going on 9:30 pm Haynes decides to put down their chili fries and milkshakes and come get him to take to nursing home. Pathetic hospital. Left hand has no clue what right hand is doing.

Jackson and Baptist are the two choices for hospitals in Montgomery. There is a security screening to enter the ER, so leave your pocket knives at home. I had a same day surgery done here and everyone I dealt with was professional I was out of the hospital within an hour of the surgery being over.

Worst experience ever. Was put in bed in the hall. Took 3 hours for dr to see us. Had no knowledge of my chronic illness and seemed not to care. Left with no help and had to go to different hospital. I am sure they are going to want to charge me full price anyway for nothing! Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. My father in law got a diabetic ulcer on his toe. He was given great care in Jackson's wound care clinic. His toe healed and his is now doing well. He was very impressed with Dr. Cook and the wound care staff.

Many years ago I trusted and always used this hospital. Then everything changed. My grandmother, now deceased, had such fragile skin that it would break if any pressure were applied. She was scheduled for tests and had to get onto an examination table. She told the tech assistant about her skin problem. He ignored her, grabbed her arm to put her on the table, and most of her skin from forearm to elbow came off.

When my mom became ill, we waited in the Jackson ER for several hours. We finally left without my mom's being attended. The last straw was when I was sent in for a mammogram by my doctor. After the mammogram and an ultrasound, the radiologist came in and said, "Well, looks like you have cancer." Jackson Hospital staff lack compassion. Healing is not all about test results.

People heal best when they are listened to, acknowledged, and offered simple human kindness. They should retrain using one of those pain level charts--except they should assign numbers based on the amount of human connection they are providing their patients: one is none to low. That is the basis of my evaluation of their service.

My father has undergone three surgeries at Jackson Hospital. We were very impressed with the staff and the facilities. Everything seemed very organized and we felt like my dad was a priority. The facility was clean and as comfortable as any hospital can be. The surgeons were great and kept us informed. I am thankful my father had such great care.

I have Lupus that will often rears it's ugly head in the form of psychosis. It can be really ugly. I recognized the symptoms and it was the weekend, so this left me with the ER. My primary doctor is affiliated through Jackson so I believed that would be the smartest bet. Whoops, my mistake. They didn't listen to a work I said, just took it for I was crazy without reason and locked me in a windowless room with no TV or anything and took everything I had away, including my kindle.

They didn't come and ask questions to see what brought on the onset of the of the problems, no questions at all, didn't try to contact my primary physician. Luckily my husband was there the entire time and they made a "deal" with him. He could stay in the room with me or I would be sent to Meadhaven (sp?) Our local mental institution. I voluntarily brought myself in for help.

They did NOTHING. JUST LOCKED ME IN A ROOM AND LEFT ME AT THAT. I WAS CALM BY THIS POINT. My nuttiness was directed towards my family, which is horrible. Finally they did move us Into a room with a TV, but that was the extent of it all.no, follow up with your doctor, hope you feel better.nothing. I've had Lupus with underlying psychosis since I was 19, I am now 37. Horrible experience.

I wasn't even aloud to keep my panties on! LOL, Oh Well. I usually have decent l.uck at Jackson, so this was a disappointment. I wish I had at least acted nutty in front of them to warrant all this.maybe then I could have had some fun.ok folks, I am only kidding, b/c I would still be there. Love to you all. I hope your experience is better than mine.
