I took my grandson to People's Health Center on Delmar for an appointment for shots, in the pediatrician's department, his vitals were taken by a Medical Assistant named Que, she was absolutely horrible, very Nasty attitude. She attempted to invite my grandson, who is 4 years old, into the room by himself to take his blood pressure. I had too advise her that I'm coming in there with him, at that point she slammed a drawer or two.
That was very inappropriate my 4 year goes nowhere alone! Upon leaving I asked the other Medical Assistant that was sitting at the front desk in the Pediatric's department for the name of the lady that took my grandson's vitals, she advised me of her name, Que, and asked if I wanted to speak with her, I said yes, she went to the back and came back up front and stated she's with a patient, she then asked if everything was ok, at that point I asked for the number to HR, she then advised me that there was a HR supervisor there on the floor and if I wanted to speak with her, I replied yes, so a lady came from the back to speak we me, who was not HR, but attempted to pose as such, Theresa, was of no help at all.
The Pediatrician medical assistants that was on duty 03/29/21 at the Delmar location was absolutely disgusting, they are very misleading and disrespectful. However, the nurse that administered my grandson's shots was amazing, Thank you April.

Extremely unprofessional. I've been going to this Clinic since I was a kid and idk what happened to the level of professionalism but if that's what you require you won't get it here. I called and set up a women's health appointment & as I spoke with the customer service rep I explained to her what I was coming in for basically an annual check up.
She said ok, I have you down for Thursday at 3pm. So Wednesday mid day I get a phone call. It's an automatic message just confirming the appointment. So as I'm listening it says to have my insurance card, my id, and my co pay ready. So in my mind I'm thinking, what's the co pay gonna be, but I'm not worried because I've paid $25 before when I didn't have insurance, so it can't be too high. Wrong.!
I arrive at 2:40 signed in and while doing so I over hear another young lady speaking with the desk saying she has a 3:20 appointment etc etc. so I asked the lady at the desk about the co pay she says $70. How? So I hand over my Insurance card and she's surprised to see it but still takes it and I continue to question why am I paying $70 she then said you must have a low premium or plan.
Now I know damn well, but ok. I made sure to receive a receipt. The young lady who had a 3:20 gets called, and I'm not thinking too much about it because maybe her check up will be an in and out thing. So here I am it's now 3:20 and I finally get called to do the basic weight, blood pressure and temperature test. Then I was told to go back out in the waiting area because they had no rooms available.
Ok it's now 3:40 I'm still sitting here waiting for my name to be called and I decided to call my insurance provider and figure out why I had to pay such a high co pay. She then explained to me that they had me down for a specialist and that they sometimes do not communicate what exactly it is that you're paying for. As I'm on the phone with my insurance provider I get called back to the room and told to undress and someone will be in there shortly.
Still discussing the situation my I.P. Informs me to mention a few things to the dr I say ok. No one comes to the room until 4:20. And when they finally did. I told her I wanted to get blood work done and she (Dr. Tobias) says ok, proceeds to rush the process and was back out of the room In less than 5 minutes. She then comes back in the room after I'm dressed and that's when I began to question the co pay.
She says well this is an std/check up and had you got an annual that's when we do everything in one, you wouldn't have had to pay $70. Ok I'm confused so I paid more for less work at this point? Ok. She then says idk what was said at the front desk but this is what they have you down for. And we can do your blood work when you schedule your annual.
At this point I'm pissed. She proceeds to say yeah we don't do annuals this late. I say yeah I had a 3:00 appointment. It's now 10mins to 5. But when was that going to be explained to the customer. Yeah I won't be returning.

The most unprofessional health center I have ever dealt with. I never leave reviews but at this point, I felt the need to. I called wanting to simply change contact information and was immediately redirected to another department before I could finish my sentence. Then that department answered and snapped, claiming she had no power to change the phone number they had listed.
There is a lack of communication within the center and absolutely no professional worker there. This was my second time calling and I was calm both times but now I'm just going to move on to a different health center.

This place is absolutely terrible! This is the first time in my life that I have had Medicaid. My first appointment was at the dental clinic, I had to have two teeth pulled. They did not give me any pain medication prior to the extractions. All they gave me was topical ointment. I have always received a choice to have gas or not. This place does not have that option.
I felt so much pain so much pain that I actually was crying and I never cry. The bedside manner of the doctor was nonexistent, then as I'm very emotional leaving, the lady at the front desk said that the children's clinic has gas but the adult clinic does not because they think that adults should be able to handle the pain, that is not something I wanted to hear at all when I was so emotional.
This made me so angry when I left. So now I'm having nausea and vomiting the last three days and have not been able to get a phone call back from the internal medicine department, this is ridiculous. Three days? I have nothing left to say about thisExcept that when I had "regular insurance" I always got a phone call back at the very least in the same day.
I didn't even want to give 1 star but I had to give them something to write a review. Also I have Never posted a review because I don't have time for it, but this bothered me so much I had to put it out there. Don't go to people's clinic for your healthcare!
