Reflux (also called Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease or GERD) is caused by a weak muscle in your esophagus called the Lower Esophageal Sphincter (LES) that allows acid and bile to flow back from the stomach into the esophagus, causing damage to the lining of the esophagus, throat and lungs. In most cases, a combination of medications and lifestyle changes resolves acid reflux very effectively.
A hernia is a piece of tissue - often your intestine - that pokes through a weak spot into another part of your body. If you have a painful hernia, the surgical team at AMI Surgery in Stamford, Connecticut, and Port Chester, New York, can help. They excel in using minimally invasive techniques to repair hernias and strengthen weak tissues to prevent any recurrence.

If you're looking to have varicose veins surgery at AMI, think again. While the staff is friendly, I found myself going nearly weekly because something went wrong during my surgery. I started this process in February, after my first (and I thought only surgery) I found myself in the ER due to bleeding from the incision spot. Within 2 days of that ER visit I went back as I developed a blot clot.
While falling the doctors office and trying to find an appointment they switched me to the other doctor in the office because the complications with the first. After many ultrasounds and scans, it was determined I only needed injections to finish my one leg. I go back twice for injections, no problems after the first but another issue after the second.
I go into the office to have them look and they tell me it's trapped blood in a dead vein and to come back in 2 days. I go back and the doctor isn't there but the staff are able to try and drain the vein. 2 weeks later, I have another giant bump on my leg. I was told "unfortunately some people fall through the cracks". never had any surgeries or issues before and now I'm in there nearly twice a month. Research harder.

I developed two hernias and saw Dr Bonheur a couple times. First, we decided to hold off as the hernias weren't bothering me. Once they started to bother me I went back and we decided to do surgery. Virginia from his office kept me updated and got me set up. Surgery went great, the fact that I was up and about a couple days later showed that he really used the best care when operating laparoscopically. I'm almost two weeks in and have been able to start progressing back to my regular workout routines. Highly recommend!

My consultation went great. Dr. Bonheur actually listened to me and took note of all my physical issues after pregnancy. Developed some things that will make any woman feel terrible. Dr. Bonheur made me feel like there's still hope for me to get to where I want and need to be in order to take back control of me and my life. Definitely looking forward to this new journey with him and his team! Would recommend 100%. Thank you AMI!

Dr. Bonheur and his team were the best! His office staff was nothing short of polite and courteous each and every time I physically went to an appointment and/or had to call to speak with them regarding an appointment or question I had. Dr. Bonheur and his surgical team were just as wonderful. Their bedside manner was impeccable and they made you feel super comfortable, being that you had to walk into a surgical procedure alone due to Covid. I traveled from the Danbury area to the Stamford office every time and I highly recommend using Dr. Bonheur for any hernia procedures you may need.

By far the best doctor and staff! Dr Bonheur is fantastic. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable, he has incredible bedside manner. Dr B offers a wide variety of services from surgical interventions to aesthetics to IV therapy. The nurse Christina who does IV and other services is amazing! She welcomes everyone with such a bright smile and makes sure you are happy, well taken care of and comfortable. I can't thank her enough for making every experience worth while.

I found Dr. Prasad from my Gynecologist and it was the best Doctor I ever had, I had pain for 45 years after 13 surgeries from other Doctors, He was the only one that found my problem and I had Surgery in Dec 2019 and it was the best decision I had ever made, he found my problem just by looking at past MRI's and Cat Scans I've had in the past, had the surgery and he fixed what needed to be done and he is my hero, if I ever need surgery again, I will definitely come back to him.

Dr Bilderbqck and his team were great. Service both pre and post op was top notch. What could have been a much more serious issue was well explained, alleviation my worry out of the gates My concerns / expectations were well managed throughout the whole process including at St Vincent's. I would greatly recommend this group for any of your general surgery needs.

Dr. Prasad is an excellent physician. I am truly grateful that I was referred to his office. It is not everyday that you meet a provider that exudes compassion and sincerity. He was informative every step of the way. He is professional. I never felt rushed out of an office visit. He always asked if I had any questions. Dr. Prasad rocks! I would also like to thank his staff. Everyone was great. A special thank you to Elsie and Kathy.
