Almost 500 Volunteer Physician Specialists providing free specialty care in over 60 specialties. Total # of specialists participating in the network: Almost 500 - Recruitment is ongoing, in over 60 health care specialties to provide free specialty health services and is THE ONLY PROGRAM PROVIDING ACCESS TO FREE SPECIALTY HEALTHCARE IN THE STATE OF IOWA for Iowans at risk, low income, uninsured or underinsured and 200% below federal poverty guidelines.
Ms. Noonan brings over 20 years' experience in entrepreneurial and diagnostic healthcare, business development, operations management and leadership to the Polk County Medical Society and Volunteer Physician Network. Ms. Noonan has a Bachelor's of Business Administration and Management from AIB College of Business.
WHEREAS, its purpose is to bring together into one organization incorporated under the laws of Iowa ethical qualified physicians, dentists and podiatrists of Polk/Warren/Dallas Counties to promote the science and art of medicine and the betterment of public health unity, harmony and the welfare of the medical profession and to unite with similar organizations to maintain relationships with the Iowa Medical Society, the American Medical Association and the American Osteopathic Association.
The Polk County Medical Society is the oldest continuously operating medical society in the state of Iowa, representing more than 1242 physicians and their patients since 1851. Members are local physicians and residents dedicated to serving Des Moines area patients in medical care. Throughout the changes that have taken place in medicine, PCMS has remained a leader at the local, state and national levels.
