I have been going to Beach Eye Care (Holland Rd) for a few years. The customer service is always great. The staff is always friendly and seem happy to help. I went in today thinking I would have to buy new glasses because I had broken my frames. Wendy was quick to look up my purchase and replace my frames at no cost. She was so happy to help! I am a Beach Eye Care customer for life!

Updating my review from 6/2/2022 after being contacted by Beach Eye Care staff ("M"). I explained my many issues to her, including my issues with my eye care visit. She managed to solve all my billing problems while not making me feel like a total whiner. And her cohort in the glasses department ("H") solved my transition lens problem. So, bills fixed, glasses fixed and I feel taller and funnier, for some reason. In 2 working days, which I think is pretty impressive. Maybe I should switch to decaf.

All members of my family have been patients at Beach Eye Care for 10+ years. They have always been so professional and easy to work with. Today I took 2 of my children in to the optical department and was greeted by Adam. He was so pleasant and energetic to help us. He was great with the indecisive manner of my daughter and sooo patient with us. He made the experience of finding just the right frames for an 11 year old girl easy.

He gave great advice concerning what looked good on her and what fit her face the best. I highly recommend Adam and hope he can always help us when we need it! Thank you Adam!

I made a next day emergency type appointment at Beach to get some help in removing debris from my eye. I was in a great deal of agony and pain and had been trying relentlessly on my own to get what was in my eye out. When the doctor looked at my eye he merely looked on the surface even though I specifically pointed to the corner of my eye where I felt the issue.

He told me to my face I had "no foreign debris" in my eyes. I was shocked and so very disappointed! Who do you go to for help in things such as these if not your eye doctor? He brushed me off and sent me home with some pharmaceutical sample eye drops, which did ZERO to actually solve the problem. But hey, at least he got paid right? I'm tired of paying for a doctors time when all they do is throw big Pharma crap at you instead of actually HELPING. I will not be returning and am looking for a new eye doctor. SO DISAPPOINTING, you could have at least looked where I told you to look!

Always pleased with Beach Eye Care. Saw Dr. Marc Lipton for many many years, Dr. Neatrour one time, Dr. Coffin once and just recently Dr. Tang. All staff and providers are very professional and helpful. Dr. Tang thoroughly explained the "vitreous floaters" that I have and showed me pictures of my last eye exam and the pictures from this acute visit.

He recommended a 30 day follow up and told me what to watch for. If I can I will always remain a patient there. ***I am very sad that Dr. Lipton is gone, he was a good doctor and great person.

This is NOT true. I have continued to call and leave messages, and have yet to receive a call back. After 7 calls and messages left, what does it take! I wish there was a NO stars option!

I love beach eyecare! I had an apt for myself and my son. My son is young, 4, and they are so great with little kids. Dr. Lee is amazing and so knowledgeable. Lucas assisted us with our pre testing and while I got my exam he helped my son stay calm. I also had some contacts that needed to be returned and they helped make it an easy process. Highly recommended

I love my yearly visits to Beach Eye Care on First Colonial! From the front desk to the Doctors, you'll receive nothing, but hospitality and respect. I had the pleasure of being seen by Dr. Tang and Dr. Le. This location is always clean, organized, and quick! My appointment was completed within 30min and my next appointment set : look forward to my visit in 2023. Thank you to all the staff

Dr. Neatrour is hands down the best. I saw him for a consultation for SMILE eye correction procedure. I was extremely nervous and excited. He explained everything in detail and I was scheduled later the same day for the procedure. I was very anxious walking into the surgery room but both him and the nurses made it very comfortable and explained what was happening step by step throughout the procedure.

The staff was also phenomenal, very kind and professional. I'm am extremely thankful and happy my vision is so much better now then before. I'm 1 day out from the procedure, no dryness or itchiness, still a little blurry but overall I feel great. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience

My first time at Beach Eye Care and I was very pleased. I was concerned going in because of some negative reviews, some due to long wait times and a couple on exams charges. But, I also know that the dissatisfied are typically the most vocal so I thought I would share my experience. Dr Ritenour was great, Oliver in optical was too, as was the girl who did the initial portion of my exam and the girl at the desk.

They have modern facilities and equipment and a nice selection of frames in optical. I have zero complaints. I've used four different eye docs over the past decade or so and I like Beach Eye the best.

The Doctor and technicians were great. The scheduler seemed like she was just trying to get a commission. She informed me if I got the surgery my insurance covered my eyesight would be worse. If I shelled out 7,000 I would have!lost perfect vision. I know plenty of people who had the basic surgery and only needed reading glasses, without paying a dime.

I have anxiety when I go to the eye doctors. This is the first time I have ever left an eye doctor's office with a smile on my face! Faith put me at ease & there was no discomfort at all! I was amazed! Dr Levine was wonderful too! He was thorough, funny, and made my eye doctor visit a breeze! Thank you Beach eye care for taking such good care of me!

Got an appointment last minute right before the new year which was a blessing. The examination was great and Dr. Tang showed high resolution images of my eyes and explained in detail what was going on. The staff were super professional and friendly, I even got new prescription eyeglasses w/ my insurance. 10/10 would visit again.

This place is horrible. The optometrists are usually nice and helpful, but the whole business is designed to capture as much money from their patients and their insurance companies as possible. They even upcharge me for a premium contact lens fitting even though I wear standard contacts. Every time I go it becomes more and more clear that this place is strategically designed to be a cash grab. After being a patient for over 15 years in finally tired of it and won't be coming back.

Chris in the contact department could not be more personable and patient! I have been a high maintenance patient to say the least. It has been a journey to find the right fit, yet with each visit, he greets me with smiling eyes (always safely wearing his mask) and a warm welcome. He exemplifies the best in customer service!

Beach Eye Care runs a first class operation! I was totally impressed from the moment I walked in the door. All of the staff (reception, technicians eye glass consultant, and the physician) was extremely friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend.

After posting my review I was immediately contacted by Stephen (Manager) overseeing the eye wear dept. We had quite, a very lengthy conversation where I had the opportunity to share my experience. I not only felt that he listened but he HEARD what I had to say. I actually felt valued as a customer at this point. Stephen is a very positive role model and I do believe that he will channel his energy into that dept so that customers will experience a pleasant visit from here on out.

I have no doubt that changes will occur. I was very pleased to receive a phone call from Beach Eye. That told me they indeed were interested in customer care. The outcome from this complaint was above and beyond exceptional, and I'm very grateful for that. Stephen, thank you for your time, both on the phone and in person. It was a pleasure to meet you.

I do like this place being having trouble at the 1st eye place i went to but Dr. Coffin, the ladys at the front desk i saw sat, the eye glass lady who took care of me both times who was absolutely amazing and sweet! And the blonde on sat i saw for contacts were the only good things! We had played phone tag the day before and each time there seemed to be some miss communication somewhere and the gentleman who called me back twice wasn't the nicest and had an attitude when i was just trying to simply verify the info and somehow what i was trying to ask just didnt seem to make sense and all i needed was to set up a contact fitting and pay for that and my glasses!

I did get it handled but i never got my contact prescription and the dr.coffin didnt need or want to do a follow up. I felt judge leaving there yet again. I feel costumer service response and listening needs to be better!

If I could rate 0 stars I would. Switched to them because I had heard good things about them and they were closer to my work. That was a mistake. I usually had a $60 copay at Pearle Vision, but when I came here they charged me over $90 for what I was told was my copay (was told it was so high because I was a new patient and that it wouldn't be that high in the future). Was due for eye dilation and instead of a normal dilation which I was prepared for, Dr. Tang pushed me towards taking a picture of my eye because it was quicker/easier and said it would be covered through my insurance.

Then I eventually get another bill in the mail stating it's for the photography, but when I call to dispute the lady tells me that's my copay and what I originally paid for was my contact fitting. So $150 for a yearly checkup. Absolutely ridiculous. They tell you one thing in person, then go back on their statements and there's nothing you can do about it.

Will never be returning and will recommend to anyone to steer clear. All they want is to take your money. And on top of that, spent over an hour getting moved to different waiting rooms for a routine check-up. My last doctor would've had me out in less than 30 minutes. Definitely seem to care about money more than their patients. Edit: Beach Eye Care reached out to me and we were able to talk about what was really just miscommunication between some staff members and myself.

They have relayed my frustration to the staff members that caused the confusion and have gone above and beyond trying to make things right. After discussing everything, I no longer feel they are just out to take people's money and will most likely return for future visits. Thank you, Stephen, for taking the time to reach out!

I had LASIK October 2020 with Dr. Jain and everything could not have gone smoother! I came in for a consultation the week prior which took a little over an hour. The staff did multiple thorough tests before I saw Dr. Jain at the end of the consultation. I was so impressed with everything that I did not hesitate to schedule for LASIK the following Friday.

The day of the procedure, the staff and Dr. Jain did some extra tests and then I headed into have the procedure done. The procedure itself was definitely no more than 15 minutes max. ZERO PAIN! I was at Beach eye Care for a total of two hours (checking in, extra tests, procedure, 15 minute in-office recovery time). The at-home recovery time was short.

I was told to relax my eyes for at least two day (so no driving, preferably). The aftercare directions were easy to follow. No big deal; just follow the directions and you'll be good. The entire staff (from checking in downstairs for follow-up appointments, checking out upstairs in LASIK center area, the staff who did the tests, Dr. Jain, etc) were wonderful, friendly, and efficient.

I have not had any complications with LASIK. No dry eye, no floaters, clear 20/20 vision or better, etc. Overall, I am extremely satisfied and I highly recommend! Thanks, Dr. Jain and staff! Y'all are the bomb.

Staff is really nice, but the wait is outrageous. No one wants to spend half a day sitting here. First you wait to be called, then you go to a room, then wait again, go to another area, wait AGAIN and finally might see the doctor. I am now here, going on an hour and 25 minutes since my appointment. Never experienced an eye appointment like this. Kinda hope I never have to experience it again.

Dr. Coffin saw me on an emergency basis when my regular provider was not in the office. I was very pleased with his care. He took all the time necessary to explain what was going on, which medication he was prescribing and it's use. Very satisfied. Thank you.

Came in for Lasik and everything was fast and professional. Lucas was my eye tech- he made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. Very friendly and experienced. My surgeon was Dr. Levine, he was such a delight. Everyone there was very kind and welcoming and made me feel comfortable and safe. Prices were fair and my surgery went well.

As a new patient to Beach Eye Care, it was a very comfortable and even pleasant experience. I went to get my annual eye exam (which I was long over due) and to try out contact lenses for the first time. Since I don't even like putting eye drops in my eyes, I expected a long, frustrating, arduous experience. It was anything but. Not only did I have nothing but positive interactions with everyone from the front desk to the exam area, contacts area, glasses fitter, and Dr. Tang himself; but everyone was patient, open to questions, gave clear instructions, and encouraging. I actually enjoyed being there - so thank you all for fostering such a nonstressful and comfortable environment!

My vision is still blurry and I now have floaters after 6 month from my LASIK procedure that can't be fixed with glasses. I had a super mild prescription 20/40 with mild astigmatism. Doctor Neatrour recommended the surgery and down played the side effects like if nothing is going to happen. And the consultant Meri did not explain to me anything correctly before surgery.

I told her about the side effects and she said they are "very very rare" making it seem almost impossible to get bad side effects. Good Job Dr. Neatrour and good job Meri. I swear on my mothers life that I will not rest until I close this institution and make you pay the price. Good luck :. I'm visually disabled because of your greed.

This office made my elderly mother wait over and hour in uncomfortable chairs - what is the point of bothering to make an appointment? And then quoted her inflated prices for new glasses (over $500 for lenses for her current frames) - without any less expensive alternative being offered (other than over $400 for glasses in their frames). Horrible experience.

Beach Eye Care has given my daughter (3 years old) a great experience for her first optometry visit. They are prompt, professional and kind. They handle my little one with time and patience. Special thanks to Taylor for going above and beyond for our family.

I had lasik done at the location. It was a very easy process, everyone was super friendly and calming on the day of the procedure. They adhered to all the concerns I had post op. My doctor was very thorough. 10/10 recommend.

Been coming for 12 plus years. Love all the doctors. Entire family are patients here. One of the best things, the have weekend hours which is great for working individuals. They have an wesome selection of glasses also.

I scratched my eye today, lots of blood, and went to Beach Eye Care which is near my home. I had no appointment but they rushed me in and I was seen in minutes by the most professional and gentle doctor I have ever encountered in my 60 years as a health care professional. She explained everything in great detail, was an absolute breath of fresh air. The entire experience, from the front desk through check out was outstanding. I highly recommend this practice for all eye care needs. Jack McNamara

This is gonna be a fun one. I make an appointment here. I walk in. The front desk ignores me for 9 minutes. When she finally acknowledges me, I say I have an appointment. She asks my name. And she acts like I'm not important. She tells me to sit down. Someone will be with me shortly. I sit there for a few minutes. A woman brings me back. She goes here is all our sunglasses.

I ask her where the "Costas" are. She goes we don't sell them anymore. I go since when. She goes since last week. I go not according to yours and Costas websites. Then she shows me the Oakleys. Walks off and completely ignores me while she is more worried about washing the touches glasses at the end of the day instead of helping a customer who wants to drop 650 dollars on a a pair of prescription sunglasses. I guess my money is no good here. On to the next one.

A little bit more expensive than going to a Walmart, but you get what you pay for. I really like the service and I really felt like I got the right glasses for me. They take the time to do it right and explain to you as the process along the way. I have bought glasses online before, and I have regretted them because they were not right. Go to Beach eye care to get your glasses;you will not be sorry

Beach Eye Care was exceptional. The entire staff was friendly, professional and kind. I was impressed as well by state-of-the-art equipment and thorough service at each point in the exam process. The optometrist was knowledgeable and patient with my son in answering questions. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Thank you.

I have been going here for several years and love this place. They are very efficient and everyone is friendly. Dr. Wilkins is top-notch and I would refer them to anyone who is looking for an eye doctor.

They did not explain to me that they were going to make one eye distance vision worse, if I'd been given a contact to wear for a week like my was 8 months ago I would not have moved forward.and probably why they stopped doing that. I asked about possible complications and the doctor named a couple of minor ones and dismissed my concerns. They never told that there were no guarantees to the very expensive procedure, I had to read it in the fine print the morning of the procedure.

During the holidays they were offering a special promotion of $1,000 off, and it's reasonable that would be for both eyes, but when they told me the price I said I was offered the promotion and they said that is the promotional price($1,425) the same exact price my wife paid 8 months earlier with no promotion. It's been 4 weeks since my procedure and I still have difficulty, mostly driving and even more so driving at night.

I was told it would take about a week for my brain to get used to the 2 different pictures my eyes send to my brain, ones blurry one clear depending on what I'm looking. My left eye is clear up close and my right eye is clear distance. I'm right eye dominate. My advise to someone thinking about this is do the contact for a week and see if it works for you but don't believe any promo you see and read the paperwork they send home with you carefully and write and your questions and concerns

Getting Lasik has been life changing and I think would recommend getting it at Beach Eye Care. However, I warn you to be prepared to spend a LOT of time waiting. The procedure was quick, but for the follow up exams: I'm never taken back less than 20 minutes after my scheduled time, do a few checks with a tech, then put in a room to wait another 20+ minutes for 5 minutes with the doctor.
