Dominey Andrea M Winter Fest is here! We look forward to seeing you! Keep an eye on our social media for a chance to win a FREE Diamond Glow treatment during Winter Fest. Excellent "customer service" from the front desk, to the nurse to a very personable, and knowledgeable doctor. She took the time to explain everything to me, which I really appreciated! I have been to other doctors offices and would highly recommend N. Idaho Dermatology!

My visit to this practice was one of the most frighting experiances I have ever had. I would absolutley not recommned anyone to this practice. There bedside manner was void. I have facial cancer and was treated without dignity. I was told they would not do a biopsy to find out how deep or the extent of the cancer. The first biopsy failed they seemned irritated at me.

I was mortified when I was told the the Dr. said come in we dont need the biopsy we will just cut it out of your face in a 30 min office vist.it shouldnt scare to much. So there I was and here I am my face is swollen my gland in my neck is swollen and now Im in alot of pain. I have to get a referral to see another doctor which is more time.make your own judgement.

Update: the manager called me a few days after my treatment. She was so rude and unprofessional. She basically said I was a liar and had not even seen my eyebrow at this point. I would not recommend this location for hair removal. Oh man! I'm beyond upset. I went in excited for my treatment. I've been trying to get the courage to have my face hair lazer removed. finally did it. Paid $288 for 1 treatment which I didn't mind doing.

And Sage was full of great energy but during the process missed spots on my face and zapped part of my eyebrow. I've waited a lot time to finally get the nerve to do it. Disappointment is an understatement.

Daughter has an active infection yet can't been seen for another month. I don't mind waiting a month or even a few to be seen for routine issues. But she needs to be seen quickly. Heading to pediatrician and hopefully they don't send us to dermatology because I'm gonna need to find another office.

Before I became a employee here I was a patient a few years back. The doctors and staff have always gave off a great kind atmosphere. I now been part of the team for two years and love every minute of it. I enjoy working with the doctors and PAs who personally care and love what they do by helping people with their skin concerns. The team we have here is a family.

BEWARE they have more than DOUBLED their prices on certain services stating costs have gone up basically due to inflation. They do have a sign saying prices have gone up but they don't tell you how much until you pay at the end. So - the typical cost for the service I received was $360, is now $800! Only to find out at the end is WRONG!

The medical staff who work here are very good at what they do, from the front desk to the Doctors, friendly, very knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and they were on schedule. I hope that I will never be in need of their service again, but if I do this is without a doubt the only call I will have to make. I was treated by Dr. Layher, she explained my procedure, answered all of my questions and concerns as well as made me feel confident.

Do NOT go to North Idaho Dermatology 12:45pm (appointment time 1pm) My just 18 year old daughter forgot her ID. We were told we would not be seen unless we could get a copy of the ID before the appointment because of HIPPA compliance. We had driven an hour for this appointment. I offered to private pay and assured them we would have the ID before the end of the appointment.

They still refused to check us in. My mom immediately headed to our house; I told them my mom would not get there within the 10 min grace window. We were told by the manager that we wouldn't be seen because they provide good customer service so they have the 10 min window as policy. After more discussion about what good customer service was, the manager told me we would be seen.

At 18 min after the appointment time, we had the picture. We were then told we beyond the grace window and would need to be rescheduled. Again, manager became involved, and confirmed we would need to reschedule. I informed them ID to be seen was not a HIPPA law, we had gotten the ID as soon as we could, had driven an hour, were early and had done our best.

The manager again told us we would not be see. I said ok, I'll be contacting my lawyer as we started to gather our things to leave. She then said, ok, we will see you. Olivia and I took our seat, filled out paperwork, and then proceeded to wait. At approx 1:45, Olivia's name was called, we were then brought into the managers office were the director of operations was.

We were told we weren't a good fit for their practice and my daughter would not be seen as a patient. As we went through discussions it was clear the manager did not tell the whole story, however the director of operations still dismissed us. I have never had such a horrible experience at a doctors office. I am so upset. I feel horrible for my daughter being refused treatment and in such an inappropriate manner, when we all worked so hard to get the copy of the ID but missed the 10 minute cutoff by 8 minutes.

It almost seemed like they told us we would be seen, and then an hour later refused us, just to spite us. What a horrible first experience in adulthood for her at a doctors office.

Cannot recommend Dr. Mortensen. She spends less than two minutes with me per appointment. Actively refuses to treat things like milia or cysts, claiming it would be easier for us both if I "just ignore it". I originally saw her for a painful, chronic facial rash. She repeatedly refused patch tests or a biopsy. As a result, I was misdiagnosed and suffered unnecessarily for a couple of years.

Her treatments eventually made my condition spread and become much worse before she realized her error, but blamed me for the misdiagnosis rather than her refusal to test or biopsy, since my symptoms didn't "present" as the correct condition. Recently began refusing to write prescriptions for any creams if they already sell a version at their spa.

At my last appointment, she insisted I buy a cream from her and was adamant that it would not be covered by insurance and that it was not available OTC anywhere, at any strength. When I asked her to submit a prescription to my insurance anyway, she refused. I did not have any extra funds at the time having lost my employment during the early pandemic, but a quick internet search while she went to double-check the "really affordable" price led me to the same product at a slightly lower strength available at a local pharmacy for just $7.

The version she wanted me to buy was $80 (slightly less volume and only a slightly greater strength). I said I would be more comfortable spending less on the weaker version first, to make sure my skin would react well to it. After all, my face had just been through the wringer from the misdiagnosis and was still healing. I said that if I knew my face wouldn't react poorly, I would be more comfortable purchasing her more expensive version later.

I thought this was reasonable, but she was very condescending about this decision and insisted I was going to make my condition worse if I used a weaker strength and argued that the $80 was very cheap for this product. She spent more time trying to pressure me into buying this cream than she ever spent listening to me about my concerns during any of our appointments combined.

I realized I was a customer to her, not a patient, and have not returned since. For the record, the weaker cream worked great, my years-long rash finally cleared up, and I saved $73. The next time I need to see a dermatologist, I am asking my doctor for a referral to someone else. I did not feel cared for at NID.

I see Dr. Hillary Hill and cannot say enough about how wonderful she is. I have had melanoma twice and my care prior to finding her doesn't even compare. I feel comfortable, completely taken care of, and appreciated as a patient. Thank you Dr. Hill!

Don't go here unless you want Covid. I called to cancel my appointment - members of my family have covid symptoms. The receptionist told me to come anyway but "just wear a mask". I told her no and she questioned why I'd say no. They'll put their customers at risk just to make a buck.

Yesterday I took the day off of work to take my husband in for an appointment. After sitting him in the waiting room, I began to sign him in. Robin, the receptionist, told me that he must sign in himself. My husband is hard of hearing, which I explained and that he would be unable to hear her. She did not care and insisted on him talking for himself.

After several failed attempts on her part, she took the information from me. I gave her his insurance card, Medicaid, and his picture id. She then informed me that he couldn't be seen without a referral, so I told her I wish I had known this before making an appointment. My husband was already an established patient here, and had never been asked for this before. Robin then proceeded to accuse us of insurance fraud.

Because of my husbands health he is required to see other specialists and not one has ever required a referral or accused me of insurance fraud. Your receptionists require a much needed lesson on manners, she was incredibly rude for no apparent reason. I will never return to North Idaho Dermatology ever again and have already made an appointment at a different dermatology clinic.

Be careful of one of the new providers they have hired. Incompetent and I'd be shocked if she doesn't botch something (has a history of screwing up patient care) she will run this business into the ground with lack of knowledge as she practices on pure ego. Good luck!

My appointment with Dr. Hillary Hill was outstanding as always. She's always thorough, personable and willing to listen. I had a skin problem and she has prescribed treatment that has completely taken care of it. I'm very happy to call her my doctor.

I had an excellent experience on my two visits with Hillary Hill. Her staff, Paige, Nina and even the front reception area were professionally, knowledgeable and the best of the best! I was made to feel comfortable and at ease during a recent surgery and just knowing how knowledgeable and the way that they explained what to expect eased my stress. I can't thank everyone there at Northwest Dermatology enough for the excellent care that I received. S. Ashcraft

Absolutely unprofessional receptionist staff! Two different appointments and could not be seen at either one because of their clerical errors and not informing us, first of all that my 17-year-old can't be seen without me even though we've been in there before, and then the second time because I did not have my photo ID on me even though it was in their system they would not see my daughter.

They would not even wait until I could give my photo ID. It is a long story but in the short they were non-professional and rude! We will now go to advanced dermatology in Coeur d'Alene

Today at THE SPA I was able to take advantage of an incredible special.buy 2 syringes of any filler, and get one free! I put all my trust into Carolyn's recommendations as to where the filler should go and it turned out great. I had some cheek and jowls, and a little bit of lip. As usual, I am thrilled with the results. I am 58 years young and I can honestly say I look soo much younger! I will keep coming back to Carolyn for touch ups as per usual. and maybe some laser treatments next. Thanks for doing such a great job for me!

This review is not about the providers at all but rather the clinic in general. Sometimes dermatology clinics care more about making money than they do the care of the patients. The apparent values of this clinic are not centered around the patients. After having worked in a dermatology clinic that cared more about money than people, I obtained my Master of Healthcare Administration and Master of Health Informatics because of the lack of care experienced in clinics like this one.

I drove 35 minutes and arrived 10 minutes late to my appointment because I had to bring my toddler along with me (if you have kids you know). After taking the time to check in, I was told I was going to have reschedule because I was too late and all the other patients after me would have to wait if they saw me. I totally respect wanting to keep a tight schedule & wouldn't want to have to wait around because someone else was late before me.

I checked all of the communications I received prior to the appointment and none of them stated I would be turned away if I walked in 10 minutes late. Rules are important, but discernment of circumstances and the ability to adapt and provide care to everyone needing it is even more important. The front desk representative did her best to help me and looked into finding out if another provider would see me.

But she clearly hadn't been trained in customer service and made the situation quite uncomfortable. She received no help from her teammates who were all zoned into their own busy-work. They often said "they don't want us to go back there anymore" when a front desk representative wanted to try and be sure a patient received what they needed-which tells me there is some uptight management happening and not much of a supportive team environment.

The manager who stepped in to confirm that none of the providers would see me had no compassion. I definitely felt judged as I stood around for half an hour waiting to see if someone was going to see me for the appointment I had scheduled. Health CARE in a clinic setting starts the moment an appointment is made and continues until the patient checks out from the appointment.

Every single point along that continuum is CARE for the patient. I did not reschedule because this clinic clearly did not CARE about me as a person and had already wasted an hour and a half of my life.

They actually hand out Dove lotion. If you read on the internet can see it is very toxic. Why would a dermatologist use a toxic product?
